This Week In WWE Vintage Collection History: Juvi Loses His Head. Or At Least What Covers It.

Gene welcomed us to the show as he said we'd be ending in
spectacular fashion with a mask vs. title match in the main event,
but we'd be starting with a trios match as WWE Cruiserweight Champion
Rey Mysterio would team with Spike Dudley & Scotty 2 Hotty to
face Akio, Jamie Noble and Chavo Guerrero on the episode of Smackdown
that aired on July 8th 2004.

the break, we'd be sticking with the very same episode of Smackdown,
albeit earlier in the show as gene explained that Billy Kidman and
Paul London looked to become the WWE Tag Team Champions, although
they would be facing the not-exactly cruiserweight-sized Dudley
Boyz.

the break, we joined a match in progress, that match was Eddie
Guerrero's ECW debut at ECW Three Way Dance in April 1995, as he
fought for the ECW TV Title that was held by 2 Cold Scorpio.

was main event time next and a career-changing match. It's no
argument that WCW led the forefront for cruiserwieghts, so it stood
to reason that to be the best in the world, you had to become WCW
Crusierweight Champion, something that had alluded the young Juventud
Guerrera, who had been challenging the champion, Chris Jericho, but
failing. But in a final throw of the dice, Juvi put his mask on the
line for one last shot at Jericho's belt. And so the match was set
for nWo/WCW Superbrawl 8 in February 1998. But who would lose more
than they planned on?
Gene
said that not only did Chris Jericho retain his title, but take the
identity of Juventud. However, Gene noted that Juvi would get his
revenge on Jericho by winning the title at that year's Road Wild
event, but this wrapped up our annual Crusierweight month, but noting
that starting next week, we'd be looking at "The Best In The
World" showcasing the best superstars from all over the

to say, I have been feeling incredibly ill today, so me telling you
what happened next to the guys featured is taking a break for a
week...
