What's the most important factor in making a successful video game?

I have no idea. What the hell do I look like to you people - R.D. Lee?

All I know for sure is, that to make a successful video game, you need strong characters, a great storyline, and the ability to make a real connection (or, if you prefer, form a nexus) with the audience.
