(Orlando, FL) - Total Nonstop Action wrestling is planning a pay-per-view next month exclusively featuring grapplers from the old TNA promotion.
"When I look around our locker room, I see a ton of influences from what TNA did," consultant Eric Bischoff told World Wrestling Insanity Breaking News. "So I thought to myself, 'why not go there?'"
The pay-per-view Final Resurrection will have the "look, feel and storylines" of an episode of TNA Impact, Bischoff promises. It will take place in Orlando's Impact Zone, where many of TNA's
most memorable angles unfolded, to give the show "an air of legitimacy," Bischoff said.
"We're not going to interfere in the creative process," Bischoff said. "This is all going to be up to the TNA folks," including Vince Russo, Dixie Carter and Eric Bischoff.
Hulk Hogan, who made TNA his home in the early part of the decade, is choosing to "sit this one out," Bischoff said.
However, they've agreed to bring in talent such as Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Eric Young and Abyss for the show. For legal reasons (someone owns the trademarked names), they'll be referred to as J.J., "Lethal" Jay Savage, Eric The Simpleton and Monster Man.
