Dan Crocker on: Mangy Dave, Great American Bash Rerun, Brooke Knows Playboy, and More

...

After a week off spent eating pork rinds and drinking Diet Coke, I’m back—and not a minute too soon, because someone has to tell Batista he looks like he has the mange.

It’s ok, out in the country we just put a little used motor oil on that and it clears right up. Seriously.   We eat squirrel.

You poor saps who ordered The Bash just to see Batista and Punk should have waited for Monday night. You’d have gotten to see it for free, and with the same Dusty finish. C’mon, WWE, just go with Punk for a bit and see what happens. Give him a clean win. Cheap wins only work for heels (and they have to be charismatic), don’t you know anything?   Like when Eddie Guerrero used to do his “pretend to get hit with a chair” routine.   Now that’s how you get a cheap win.

Of course, we got our money’s worth with Jericho and Michaels. These two can keep this going for awhile because there’s a lot going on. It’s the most refreshing feud in ages, and, in what might just be me being old and bitter, I keep waiting for WWE to mess it up somehow. It doesn’t bother me at all that Jericho is getting the best of HBK right now, in and out of the ring. It’s basic booking—when Michaels finally gets his revenge, it makes is that much sweeter.   Plus, Jericho’s promo on Monday night was spot on perfect.

A few weeks ago, I wrote about the American Gladiators on Family Feud. I mentioned that Hogan wasn’t on there.   What I didn’t write, and the immediate joke that came to mind, was that he should have been because his family sure is feudin’. But, I deleted it because it seemed, even for me, too mean. I don’t mind going after wrestlers for being bad, fat, bald or corny, but I don’t like to go after anyone for their personal lives—especially when those lives are in turmoil.

But then, I saw Brook on Chelsea Lately. Chelsea asked Brooke about her mother and her dating situation of course, and the entire thing just got way uncomfortable for everyone. Apparently Brooke isn’t even talking to her mother anymore. But, she’s fine with the Hulkster, although Chelsea seemed to imply a few things we’ve all thought once or twice there too. You can catch the entire interview at :   http://www.eonline.com/videos/v30565_Chelsea_Lately__Brooke_Hogan.html

It involves talk of lap dancing if you’re into that sort of thing. I’ve got to admit that at this point, I feel a little sorry for all of the Hogans. It’s hard to even make jokes about them. If there’s an upside to all of this dysfunction, it’s that Brooke is thinking about posing for Playboy.

Oh, HHH is champion again.
