Random Thoughts, Opinions, Questions and Observations.
Greetings from under the New
Blue Black Yankee cap I received for my birthday.
Congrats go out to James Guttman and the rest of the World Wrestling Insanity staff as we have reached out 2nd birthday. 2 years of existence. It is a real big milestone considering some people thought we wouldn’t last as a site for more than a few months. Others thought we would be competition to them but in fact, we have carved out our own niche, have our own loyal fan base and have a very good mixture of columnists on the site. So thank you all for all of your support and help in keeping us alive today. We appreciate it.
WWE is still trying to salvage everything they have going on for them at the moment. Luckily they have some momentum as the Undertaker has returned from injury, HHH and Rey Mysterio are back from injury and on October 1st and 2nd respectively, everyone suspended for 30 days will be back on RAW, Smackdown and ECW even though it has only been 26 and 27 days since they got suspended. I bet you didn’t know that though. HA!!!
TNA has taped the first two hour iMPACT taping in Orlando Florida and guess what. Instead of opening the show with the future of the company such as Samoa Joe or AJ Styles, instead of opening the show with some star power like Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash, Sting, Kurt Angle or Karen Angle; they opened with………BLACK REIGN aka Dustin Rhodes aka the Artist Formerly Known as Goldust. So casual fans trying to watch something new and excited will see Black Reign as the first TNA superstar.
Speaking of “Big Sexy” Kevin Nash, TNA wants him to get back into the ring. From a star power perspective, I think it is a smart move. Problem is, he has burned TNA so many times in the past that you can’t fully trust him, especially come “do the job” time. If you add in Scott Hall and Sean Waltman, I’m afraid they are going to play the politics card and further bury talent who needs to be pushed like LAX and xXx.
AJ Styles is getting a push though as Christian’s lackey. He is very good in his cocky heel role as a sidekick for Christian and eventually when they split, he will have a fun little feud with him. Problem is, Christian has lost his entire luster and they still protect him like he means something. He doesn’t anymore.
Heroes has returned to television and from most reviews I’ve read, a lot of people were disappointed. I don’t get it. I thought it was a solid return which continued on the pace they debuted with last season. Small, baby steps leading to the faster paced action as the season progresses. Have patience my young padwans, business will pick up eventually.
SAVE_US.222
Yeah, it’s him. He also does not have any book signing tours scheduled for any Monday going forward. If you get all internet nerd conspiracy theory on me, you will find some message that someone posted that mentioned that on WWE the music volume 4 the first song is his theme music. Forgot how they came to that one. You’ll also see that October 7th is in the video and that is the day after the No Mercy Pay Per View which is in
Where is all this Natalie Portman love coming from? She is going to do a nude scene in her new movie which is currently filming but from reading message boards, everyone swears she is hot!!! Sure she is ok looking and I definitely wouldn’t kick her out of bed BUT COME ON!!!! She is in no way as hot as
Lindsey Lohan
or
Christina Aquilera
.
Does anyone else think that WWE is going to jump back on the Kennedy bandwagon on Monday and reintroduce him as Mr. McMahon’s son? I think so. They are either going to say that McMahon had TWO illegitimate sons or that the DNA test was a mistake and that Kennedy is his son. Either way, Kennedy is going to get his spot back.
Congrats to Randy Orton who was married to his fiancé last week. That is why he was “suspended” from RAW on Monday.
For those who it really hasn’t set in yet, The Rock is retired from professional wrestling. He will not be coming back. He will not be wrestling. You’ll be lucky if he does another one of those taped segments he did before hyping the hair vs. hair match at Mania this year. He is done. Finito, Finished. And while I am at it, I’ve been seeing a surprising amount of people say that they don’t think the Rock is a decent actor. I was shocked when I saw that. The Rock is a fine actor for the roles he is in. He has excellent comedic timing, knows how to deliver his lines and surprisingly, I’ve found myself to like all of his movies so far. Sure he hasn’t had any Academy Award winning performances but they are definitely fine for what they are. By the way, The Rock, while promoting the Game Plan which comes out on September 28th, has stated that this will be the last movie he makes billed as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. He is officially going to be known as Dwayne Johnson going forward. Take that how you want.
Speaking of the take that how you want department, the latest cover of WWE magazine has the Undertaker on it and speaks about his return. Funny thing is, the Sara tattoo on his neck has been airbrushed out. Hmmmm….
Did anyone else see the grainy footage of Judas Mesias almost kill himself when he won the AAA Heavyweight title in
Let me ask you sports fans something? What the f*ck is going on with the New York Mets? Is this really happening? A team that has led the NL East since April, having a 7 game lead with two weeks left in the season and somehow manages to blow it? This is probably the biggest collapse in baseball history. What makes it all the more worse is the fact that they have a damn good team on paper; A team that was only one game away last season from making the World Series. Now, with 3 games left in the season and the Phillies red hot, the Mets may not even make the playoffs. This is unbelievable.
Speaking of unbelievable, how bout them Yankees? A team that was 14 games back in May, a team that was written off and not about to make the playoffs around the all star break has clinched their 13th consecutive post season with a wildcard birth. Possibly even going to win the division (although highly unlikely since they are 2 games behind
Hart Foundation 2.0 may be debuting on November 6th which is a Tuesday Smackdown/ECW taping in
Someone I do wish WWE would give a look at is Alicia from the New York/New Jersey independent scene. She is a bit short though so that may hurt her. She is talented however both on the mic and in the ring. For those who haven’t seen her, here she is:
Alicia
What’s the over and under on the Britney Spears death watch? Anyone?
I know that sounds morbid and f*cked up but seriously, she is on the fast track to bad things. She needs help and the first place she can get it is from herself.
Congrats to Krissy Vaine for debuting on Smackdown this week. Krissy used to date former WWE developmental “2 Cocky” Kevin Matthews who is someone I broke into wrestling with.
Speaking of wrestling, my old home promotion, USA Pro Wrestling (now known as UXW) runs shows in
I read that JBL worked an independent show that was a charity event to fight autism. He along with Sgt. Slaughter, Ricky Steamboat and some TNA guys all worked on the same show. Good thing to allow that to happen by Vince McMahon especially since he was involved with TNA talent in the match. Just for the record though, other than throw some clotheslines from hell and tapping out to the camel clutch at the end of the match, he didn’t do anything else physically. While I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back to WWE sooner or later for a few matches (especially since they are teasing it with Rey Mysterio), I wouldn’t expect a full comeback. It would probably only be a few times deal.
Santino Marella is PURE F’N GOLD~!~! Those spliced in clips of him doing a review of the Condemned is hilarious. My belief is that it is leading to him taking an eventual surprise stunner from Steve Austin.
Ron Simmons wrestling at age 50? DAMN.
Ric Flair is doing a WWE sponsored autograph signing soon. Take that for what you will.
ROH’s Driven PPV is on In Demand now. Watch it. No non ROH fan has really conveyed their thoughts on the first ROH PPV so my assumption is you didn’t see it. Please order this one. Tell me what you think. I am legitimately curious as to what people who have never seen ROH before thinks about the product.
Anyone know who the comedian Carrot Top is? If not, he was a skinny comedian who wasn’t very funny. He has a full head of long red curly hair. Anyway, over the past few years, Carrot Top (who I wouldn’t be surprised if his name came up in the Signature Pharmacy Steroid Investigation) has become unreasonably DIESEL!!!! His physical appearance has changed dramatically. Here is a picture of his evolution of his look; from how he was, to how he is to how he will look in 10 years. Enjoy:

I missed ECW this week and just found out that most people did as well. Sucks but that is what happens when you have 12 wrestlers on the roster, run the same matches and angles every week and don’t bother to improve the product to something fans want to see. I wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t brought back once Sci-Fi and WWE start extension negotiations.
Ashley Massaro is gone from Survivor only 2 weeks after debuting. Hey, she lasted longer than I thought she would.
I didn’t touch up on this last week and I should have. American Dragon Brian Danielson, who had his retina detached by ROH Champion Morishima, had a rematch against him. My feeling as I mentioned two weeks ago, was that he was rushing back too soon. While he didn’t get injured again, the finish of the match was a referee stoppage after Morishima continued to pummel Danielson’s injured eye with elbow strikes. That just isn’t smart. I am not going to discuss this further but I feel that is possibly the dumbest finish I have ever heard. Not the stoppage, just the fact that Danielson risked further injury and permanent damage by letting that finish take place. Just plain dumb.
Keifer Sutherland a.k.a. Jack Bauer was arrested for DUI last week in
Speaking of 24, (
SPOILER ALERT: IF YOU DON”T WANT TO BE SPOILED ON THE UPCOMING SEASON OF 24, DO NOT READ FURTHER AND COME BACK NEXT WEEK FOR A NEW RANDOM THOUGHTS COLUMN. IF YOU DO NOT MIND, CONTINUE ON…………………………………………………………END OF WARNING, SPOILER IS COMING……………………………………….DON’T SAY I DIDN’T WARN YOU………………………Carlos Bernard a.k.a. Tony Almeida will be back this season. Apparently he didn’t die and CTU faked his death to protect him. Good stuff as I loved the Tony Almeida character and thought he and Jack made a good team.
Ok kiddies, classes are over for now. See you all next week.
Feel free to discuss whatever you’d like in the
“
Anger
Management”
section of the message board or whichever section you see fit.
