Good day to you all and welcome to World Wrestling Insanity. I am your host for today, Matt Dawgs and this is my column. Today is the end of the work week and the time to look back at all the goings-on over the past seven days as I wrap it up with a bow and spout it out bit by bit. Buckle up. Let's go...

WWE News and Notes

- I don't know what to do anymore. I have already given up on TNA for the time being and I would absolutely LOVE to give up on RAW. But I cannot. I am going to Survivor Series in 3 weeks therefore I need to continue to watch until after that show. So until then, I am guessing that I have to tough through it. WWE is making it extremely difficult. RAW on Monday sucked. That is the easiest way I can put it. It had nothing to do with the Muppets appearing (although most of that was in fact DUMB, WWE got a ton of press for it during the week which was the point.) The Muppets were fine for what they were. They were entertaining, they didn't go to far and drew some laughs. Plus, I am a little nostalgic as I grew up on them. Honestly, now that I am thinking about it, they probably were the best part of the show.

- The most glaring and obvious question coming out of RAW on Monday is "WHY THE F*CK DOES JOHN CENA NEED THE ROCK AT ALL?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!" Cena beat up both Miz and R-Truth single handedly Monday; fairly easily too. He didn't get beat down and then capitalized on a mistake to get the upper hand. He was beating up Miz, Truth tried to interfere, he beat up Truth and then beat Miz by making him tap out to the STF. After the match, he left both men laying. WTF? Wasn't the whole point of asking Rock to be his partner was because Miz and Truth were too much for him to handle alone? Would it have been too hard to give Miz and Truth some heat going into Survivor Series? Maybe a beat down of Cena? Or Miz getting a win due to cheating?

- Does anyone else remember the days when titles in wrestling were important? Feels like an eternity ago. Most fans didn't even notice but on RAW Monday, WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio was pinned CLEAN by Big Show (who by wrestling history standards should now get a title shot in the near future although I doubt they will give him one), US Champion Dolph Ziggler was pinned CLEAN TWICE by Zack Ryder, WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne were pinned clean by Wade Barrett and Cody Rhodes and World Champion Mark Henry won a match by disqualification. Horrible.

- How come CM Punk is a whiny teenager now? I cannot stand it.

- I am shocked that no one in creative thought to have John Morrison lose a match to a Muppet. Just seems like a logical thing to do.

- I cannot see Caitlin being with the WWE much longer. She has already been an after thought for a long time now but on RAW Monday, her costume was horrendous. I have never seen WWE go out of their way to make a Diva look so poorly. Unless she is sleeping with someone in power, her job is as good as gone.

- The Ryder rollercoaster ride continues. After losing to Ziggler at the PPV and looking like a geek, Ryder beat Ziggler this week, TWICE.

- Boy does WWE LOVE sticking it to Jim Ross. They made him fly to Atlanta only to write out the segment with the Michael Cole challenge. This slap in the face is two fold. First, they made him travel for no reason and embarrass him on television by having Cole say he was not there (thus looking like a coward when in fact he was backstage) and then having Cole make fun/light of his real life illnesses/surgeries. Secondly, they announced this as taking place on the upcoming RAW. If that is the case, Ross has to fly to ENGLAND thus missing his weekly college football game to appear on the RAW taping to get embarrassed by Cole on camera. As of this writing, Ross is still in Oklahoma and has not been informed that he is booked for RAW meaning that they are going to call him a coward for another week. This guy is in a lose/lose with WWE. He is a better man than I am because I would have quit by now.

- Amy "Lita" Dumas was backstage at RAW this week. She now lives in Atlanta and was just visiting. Contrary to reports, she is not planning a comeback to wrestling although she did state via her twitter that she worked out in the ring with Eve Torres prior to the fans being let in.

- Current tag team champion Evan Bourne has been suspended for 30 days for violating the WWE Wellness policy.

- Whatever happened to Alex Riley? Remember when he was getting a push following his break up with the Miz? Did he get released and I missed it somehow? Where the hell is he?

- Sin Cara Negro will be officially using his FCW name now that he has been unmasked. He is now known as Hunico.

- Orlando Colon (Tito Colon in FCW) debuts on Smackdown tonight although he will not be using the Colon name. He will be named Epico and will be united with Hunico vs. Sin Cara. Considering Colon has been on the main roster doing dark matches for about a month now with his cousin Primo Colon, it is not a good look for Primo.

- Also on Smackdown tonight, well watch the Orton vs. Rhodes match and tell me what it looks like to you.

- WWE Diva Maryse has been wished well on her future endeavors by World Wrestling Entertainment. The decision was a mutual parting of ways by both the company and Maryse. While she did not request the release, she was not saddened by it as she was unhappy dating back to the failed Ted DiBiase angle. Since moving to Los Angeles with Miz (her boyfriend), she has plenty of opportunities to break into other forms of entertainment. It is speculated that she may attempt to do something with Playboy again which WWE would never allow on their watch due to the PG rating. While a great character, she had a lot to learn and improve on in order to be a good professional wrestler to this is better for her. This is definitely an interesting situation as WWE talents who have relationships with Divas who are released usually do not fare very well. Past history shows that the talents normally become unhappy or de-pushed.

- In an interesting comment via Twitter, Goldust who has taken the lead in training WWE divas since the release of Dave "Fit" Finlay was asked by a fan whether he will miss Maryse. He responded, "NO" before warning his followers that if you ask him about her release, he will block you from following him.

- John Cena commented on WWE.com that he has retired the "jorts" a.k.a. jean shorts and instead will be wearing military camouflage shorts from now on. He has them in colors representing all branches of the military.

- Mick Foley made his official WWE return this week at a houseshow/live even in Dublin Ireland. Foley worked as a special guest referee in a match between John Cena and R-Truth. This was Foley's first WWE appearance since 2007. He is now listed as a guest referee in local advertising for the November 14th RAW a.k.a. "RAW gets ROCKED" (Renamed from Rock Appreciation Night). I have read reports online stating that Foley will not be able to attend Survivor Series as he is scheduled to do a comedy show however Foley is actually doing said comedy show the day of Survivor Series...In New York...at MIDNIGHT which is an hour after Survivor Series is over. So that debunks those rumors as in all likelihood, he will be at the PPV.

- Randy Orton was injured at a houseshow in Europe earlier this week. TMZ has the FOOTAGE of him getting his head stapled shut following a street fight.

- Per Chris Masters Twitter page: "So if I had to tell you one smackdown diva who gave freebird hayes an "Oral" agreement to keep her job, who'd you guess?"

- THQ announced that Batista and Kharma will be downloadable characters for the "WWE 12" video game.

- The latest on former WWE Star Barry Windham is that he suffered a massive heart attack and also has major liver issues. Windham was found on the floor of his home shortly after it happened by brother in law Mike Rotunda a.k.a. Irwin R. Shyster (father of current WWE Star Husky Harris). Had Rotunda not found him so fast, Windham would likely have died. Windham was a HEAVY partier during his time in the wrestling business and it is likely that this caused his liver issues and heart problems.

- Former WWE Star/Agent/Producer Dave "Fit" Finlay told the UK Sun that he recently turned down a contract offer from "that other company" stating that they were not able to reach financial terms on a deal. His exact quote was that he has been in this business long enough to know to not sell yourself short meaning he was low-balled.

- Dave Batista has been offered a role in the upcoming sequel to "Pitch Black" and the "Chronicles of Riddick". The movie will star Vin Diesel and is titled "Riddick". That is a big deal should he have a big part in the film.

- Contrary to his mother's comments to TMZ, Cody Hall (son of Scott Hall) is still in fact training to become a professional wrestler. Cody did in fact STOP speaking to his father and has cut all ties with him but is still training for his debut.

MMA News and Notes

- UFC was full of news coming out of last Saturday's PPV event. Nick Diaz officially beat B.J. Penn into retirement. Penn won round one in what was an excellently contested battle. However once round 2 started, that was it. Diaz unmercifully beat on Penn and that did not let up in Round 3. Diaz could not finish Penn via knockout/TKO but that actually might have been a better fate since Diaz DESTROYED him. Following the fight, Penn announced that it was likely his last fight. He has a daughter at home and a second on the way and he no longer wants to go home to them with his face looking like ground beef. He has accomplished a lot in his UFC career and was ready to move on.

- However that was not the biggest piece of news. When being interviewed, Nick Diaz outright proclaimed that George St. Pierre was a coward and faking his injuries so he wouldn't have to fight. GSP, who was in the audience and visibly upset, DEMANDED to Dana White in private following the PPV that Carlos Condit take a back seat for this one and let GSP fight Diaz. White approached Condit and Condit agreed ( MATT NOTE: although if he wasn't compensated for being back burnered yet again, I will be upset). Condit agreed. So on Super Bowl weekend in Las Vegas, for the Welterweight title, George St. Pierre will defend his title against Nick Diaz. White stated that GSP told him, and I quote: "He is the most disrespectful human being I have ever met and I am going to put the worst beating you have ever seen in the UFC."

- FYI…while Dana White stated that Condit stepped aside, Condit's manager stated otherwise via Twitter. He basically said that they did not willingly step aside but they had no choice. St. Pierre is the champion and he requested Diaz. He basically has the final call. Condit did state that he wants to fight on the undercard of Super Bowl weekend.

- Diaz also went on a verbal tirade at the post fight press conference going on and on about several issues with UFC/MMA. He complained that he does not make enough money for what he does and stated that it is unfathomable that Floyd Mayweather makes $25 MILLION per fight and he makes no where near that. (Yes, he really said this). He also went on about how he is tired of living in the bad part of town. He goes running every day and passes nice houses with huge yards in nice neighborhoods meanwhile his car is constantly being broken into and homeless people search his front sidewalk looking for half used cigarettes to smoke. (Mind you this man has made a few million dollars worth of money in his career to date). Dana White was livid at this and rebutted Diaz during the press conference which made the situation awkward for all of those asking questions/reporting on the event. White left immediately after the conference which is unusual as he normally meets a few reporters individually following them.

- POST FIGHT PRESS CONFERENCE .

- B.J. Penn's jiu-jitsu trainer Allan Goes stated that the announcement by Penn was a spur of the moment thing and that he expects Penn will fight again.

- Matt Mitrone threw a win away by being too cautious and suffering his first UFC defeat to Cheick Kongo. He was expected to win and win big but instead he lost by unanimous decision.

- Sad to see due to his legend but UFC 137 also likely marked the end of the career or Mirko "Cro Cop" Filopovic as he was defeated by Roy "Big Country" Nelson. Cro Cop announced his retirement following the loss but while it is an absolute certainty that he is done in UFC, who knows? He may just show up elsewhere. It is tough to quit.

- With the addition of MMA analyst/commentator Jon Anik from ESPN (he will be the lead commentator for shows on FX), ESPN will replace Anik with former WWE stars/commentators Jonathan Coachman and Todd Grisham as hosts of MMA Live.

- Dana White announced this week that NONE of the undercard of Velasquez vs. Dos Santos will air on FOX. This means that if the fight ends in the first round, UFC is going to basically have to fill up a lot of air time. With Clay Guida vs. Ben Henderson on the undercard, I think this is not a good move. UFC may have an opportunity to showcase Guida and Henderson to a larger than normal audience should the main event end early.

- Dana White announced last week that Strikeforce on Showtime is NOT OFFICIALLY DEAD. He stated that he has begun negotiations with Showtime to try and keep Strikeforce on the network past February (when their deal expires). A major hurdle is now cleared as Ken Hershman (the man responsible for failed relations with Zuffa in the past) has left Showtime for HBO. The tentative plan is for Strikeforce to be UFC's developmental system where younger, unproven guys can develop a name for themselves.

- UFC announced their return to Brazil on January 14th with a main event of Jose Aldo Jr. defending the featherweight title vs. Chad Mendes as well as Vitor Belfort vs. Anthony Johnson. Originally Belfort's opponent was going to be Chael Sonnen however UFC does not want Sonnen in Brazil for security purposes.

- ESPN host of MMA Live, Jon Anik has signed a deal with UFC. He will host a multitude of shows for the promotion including Fox pre-show specials and FX specials.

- Gina Carano WILL NOT fight on the December 17th Strikeforce card from San Diego according to MMAFighting.com . Carano has not fought since August 2009. This long a layoff, my feeling is that it is unlikely she will ever fight again.

- UFC announced their quarterly Twitter bonuses this week with each recipient receiving a check for $5,000.
