Random Thoughts from Matt Dawgs: Rhetorical Questions heading into Wrestlemania

By Matt Dawgs

...

Random Thoughts, Opinions, Questions and Observations.

Greetings from under the New Blue and Grey Yankee cap I received for Christmas.

Here are some important questions for you all to ponder after the Royal Rumble but heading into Wrestlemania. You can all answer them individually and discuss them amongst yourselves if you wish.

A typically healthy top star who has stated numerous times that he does not use steroids even though his name came up in a steroid investigation suffers what appears to be a tear in his bicep muscle. A bicep tear of a healthy man is normally attributed to steroid use. Is that coincidence? Where does that leave the Wrestlemania plans if he is out for 6 months or more?

By wanting to induct Rocky Johnson and Peter Miavia into the WWE Hall of Fame, is WWE being sincere about their induction or is this just a cheap attempt to get Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson, arguably the biggest star in wrestling history to appear at Wrestlemania? Is WWE that despicable?

Who gets a WWE Women’s title match at Mania? Candice Michelle who has issues with Beth Phoenix injuring her? Mickie James who can’t seem to beat Phoenix and has been feuding with her for the past few months? Or Maria who is going to be the Playboy cover girl?

Will the Maria Playboy issue be the highest selling WWE issue to date?

What happened to Mick Foley? Wasn’t his return at the Rumble meant to kick start a Wrestlemania match/angle?

Vince McMahon vs. Finlay at Mania? Really?

Has JBL lost a step or is it just me? He is still solid on the mic but in the ring looks slow, plodding and disinterested. Shouldn’t he have gotten into ring shape prior to returning? Jericho did.

Speaking of Jericho, do you think he regrets coming back? He has lost all momentum that his return had. Back to midcard he goes no?

Does anyone want to see HHH in the main event at Wrestlemania? Wouldn’t Orton vs. Cena or Orton vs. Hardy or Orton vs. Cena vs. Hardy be better? Does HHH or anyone else think HHH winning the title at Mania will be a feel good moment?

Does anyone think that Shawn Michaels plans on stealing the show at Mania if he wrestles Ric Flair as rumored? Apparently Ric is one of his idols and I am sure Shawn will be motivated to make sure Flair goes out on top.

Whatever happened to the Ric Flair/Vince stuff that went on? Vince does this whole “If Flair loses, he retires” thing and then hasn’t mentioned it since.

Steve Austin recently said he was offered a spot at Wrestlemania. Do you think it was for a match against someone? Wouldn’t a Steve Austin return match sell BIG at Mania, even if it is for a one time shot?

What happened to Carlito’s renewed push for taking back his resignation and choosing to stay with the company?

Rumors are rampant that Hulk Hogan is starting his own promotion again. Ok, not rumors, Hogan actually said so. Anyway, do you think with this announcement that Hogan will wrestle at Wrestlemania? Follow up question is, “How come these stories only pop up around Mania time?” Does Hogan only get backers in February – April?

Stephanie McMahon is pregnant again with her husband Paul Lévesque. Do you think that Paul is hoping for a boy to carry the name? Someone to follow in his footsteps and take over the business?

Big Show is expected to return to WWE. He is even making an appearance in the developmental territory known as FCW. Do you think he will get a solid, main event push upon his return or be treated like a jabronie again in foolish angles that make him look like a dope and not be a monster?

BONUS NON WWE RHETORICAL QUESTION: Why is TNA pushing the fact that A.J. Styles and Karen Angle were married when in fact she is already legally married to Kurt Angle and the switch up at iMPACT was only a renewing of vows? Why does TNA think this angle (no pun intended) is going to sell tickets and make people watch their show? Why is Samoa Joe still working there?

Can anyone explain how a man can tear his pectoral muscle completely off the bone on October 1, 2007, have surgery to repair it and is told that recovery time will fall somewhere in the ballpark of 8-12 months, is shown visiting Iraq on December 7, 2007 still in a sling and a bit smaller than normal and then returns to the ring on January 27, 2008 completely healed and looking a bit bigger than before he left? On top of that, this same person has stated numerous times in the past that he has never used any performance enhancing drugs. Less than 4 months recovery time for an injury that was supposed to keep him out for a year. And before any smart ass asks, his name isn’t Wolverine.

On that note, here is a NSFW picture of the hot Shelly “Ariel/Salinas” Martinez .

Ok kiddies, classes are over for now. See you all next week in soon!!!!!!!!!!!

MATT NOTE: I just wanted to let you all know that I will be doing a Question and Answer column in the near future. I am taking all reader questions in regards to any subject. Nothing is taboo. So feel free to e-mail your questions to my e-mail address and I will address it. Just include your name and state/city that you are e-mailing from and I will post your question along with my answer in a future column.

Feel free to discuss whatever you’d like in the Anger Management section of the message board or whichever section you see fit.

~Matt Dawgs

World Wrestling Insanity writer Matt Dawgs is the bread and butter of the World Wrestling Insanity family. His future is bright and once James Guttman comes into a large sum of money, you can expect Matt will be getting tons of it thrown at him, at least half of it. Matt also moonlights as a professional wrestler/manager in the NY/NJ Indy scene. He is legit afraid of getting on Homicide’s bad side but thinks he is a cool dude in general. He also is a funny guy. If you have any questions, corrections, feedback, comments and ideas, he can be reached at Dawgs@worldwrestlinginsanity.com . If the feedback is negative, you can e-mail Matt at insanity @ worldwrestlinginsanity .com .

P.S. – In case you didn’t know, there is a WRESTLING BOOK that is out titled “World Wrestling Insanity”. It is a damn fun read so I suggest you run out and get it today. If you already have your copy, read it. If you already read your copy, read it again. It is funny; Like me.

Also, don’t forget to check out our new section, CLUB WWI . It can be found by clicking the banner at the top of this page. Check out all the new audio updates and features found there. Some good stuff including all of James Guttman’s past Radio Free Insanity broadcasts as well as all new, uncut interviews with some of wrestling past and present names. Good stuff people.
