Hello all. Welcome back and Happy Friday. Lets just get right to it. In my previous column on this site titled “Matt Dawgs’ Random Thoughts, Opinions, Questions and Observations”, I wrote exactly what the title says I wrote. While this column will definitely hit you with that from time to time, I am also going just basically switch up the formula a bit with my random thoughts from each wrestling PROMOTION this week. Of course I will also throw in some thoughts on real world news, sports, entertainment and gossip. Please feel free to provide any thoughts or feedback on the new format. Enjoy.

1) WWE News and Notes

· Tons of huge news in WWE land so I am going to jump right into it. First off, Linda McMahon stepped down as WWE CEO this week to officially run for US Senate. Vince McMahon will take over the role of CEO in addition to his current role as Chairman. Now this is both good and bad news. Not for nothing, but the Chairman of a company is basically a figurehead. He assists in major company decisions and is normally the main shareholder. If he wants something done, it gets done. But….as we all know, he is also head of the writing team. Being Chairman allows him to do this. As CEO, he is going to have to run the day-to-day business of the company as well as his Chairman duties as well as his writing team duties. That is a lot to put on a 68 year old man. Hopefully he manages to do everything without spreading himself too thin. And I can only assume that he is going to be miserable to work for during this time.

· With that being said, I personally do not think that Linda has a snowballs chance in hell of winning. If pigs do manage to fly and she wins, Vince McMahon is going to be INTOLERABLE to be around. He is going to think he is untouchable in regards to anything and everything his company does.

· In other MAJOR news, former WWE Superstar Jeff Hardy was arrested in North Carolina this week and charged with a sh*tload of drug charges. Possession, distribution, trafficking, etc. HUGE black eye for the company and for Jeff especially. So much so that just last week, it was announced that WWE was working on a Jeff DVD to be released in time for Christmas. Well pissing Vince McMahon off is not a good idea. That DVD project has now been scrapped.

· If Jeff doesn’t cop a plea (which I suspect him to), he is going to do some jail time. So copping a plea is the only option for him. This arrest is going to absolutely put a strain on his relationship with the company and put a huge spotlight on him with the Wellness microscope.

· John Cena is the new WWE champion in what was, in my opinion, the best match of his career. He and Randy Orton worked a damn good match from beginning to end. Wrestling story-telling 101. Orton is, THE BEST HEEL IN WRESTLING. Old School Heel. Had Taker/Shawn at Mania not happened, this would be match of the year. THAT GOOD.

· Didn’t love the CM Punk booking (and the match was WAY to short) but it was the only way out without burying Punk or killing Taker’s momentum. It was what it was. Punk is still awesome. Any opinions from people who didn’t follow Punk prior to coming to WWE? What are your thoughts of him as a heel? I know Zah must be having seizures when Punk is on TV cause he is the biggest Punk fan I know and Punk has been EXCELLENT.

· Kudos to Shawn Michaels and HHH for putting over Legacy. They put them over convincingly and Legacy are legit main event level talent now. For all the HHH hate, he is doing it right this time.

· WWE has once again re-written history. Legacy claims that Shawn and Hunter have never tapped. Then again, the guy that they have tapped to no longer exists in their history so I guess it is technically true. But for the record, Wrestlemania XX had HHH tap to “He Who Shall Not Be Named”. On the very next PPV, Shawn tapped to “He Who Shall Not Be Named”. If you chose to go by that logic, then yes, neither man has tapped. But never let facts get in the way of getting an angle over huh? You see, there is that BIG, HUGE FACT staring them in the face. You know, the FACT that both men have tapped out to John Cena on CONSECUTIVE WRESTLEMANIA’S!!!

· Anyone know why Batista can just decide he doesn’t want to wrestle on RAW anymore? No expired contract with RAW, no trade. Nothing. Just walks onto RAW and says, I want to go to Smackdown. Bye. WTF???

· By the way, what happened to him being out until November? Remember I’ve been telling you, MUTANT HEALING POWERS!!!!

· Trish Stratus was back on RAW and wrestling is apparently like riding a bike. She more than held her own on the mic, didn’t overshadow the show and wrestled again. Her timing was a little off but she still is light years better than most of the female talent in the ring and held her own. Plus, she looks fantastic. God I love her.

· But more selective memory from WWE. Beth Phoenix stormed her office and talked about how Trish retired cause she was scared of facing Beth Phoenix. Um…Last year Trish came back for one match teaming with John Cena and her opponent? Beth Phoenix.

· WWE smartened up with the Royal Rumble deal I mentioned last week and moved the Rumble so that it doesn’t compete with the NFC or AFC title game.

· Mickie James boob popped. She had it repaired and will be out for a few more weeks.

· Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff have started their own wresting promotion called “Hulkamania” and will start touring in November in Australia. The reason I am putting this here instead of the Random section below is because sources close to the company state that Ric Flair has signed a 3 year deal with them and WILL BE WRESTLING AGAIN. Yes, Ric Flair, the man who quite possibly had the greatest retirement in professional wrestling history is going to wrestle again for a 3rd rate promotion who will fail in the end instead of the biggest and most popular wrestling promotion in the world. Unbelievable.

· According to Dave Meltzer, there is a deal in place where the tour will also serve as a backdrop for a reality TV project on Hogan and Flair as the modern day “Odd Couple” who after both coming off divorces who now both need each other and wrestling in order to get back on their feet.

· Everyone in the WWE seem to think that both Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness will skip developmental and go right to the main WWE roster.

· Lillian Garcia ends with the company at this coming RAW. She was considered to be guest host at one point before her contract ended but that was scrapped. Comedian Cedric the Entertainer will be this week’s host.

· Triple H will be accompanying Floyd “Money” Mayweather to his return fight this Saturday night in Las Vegas.

2) WWE Hell in a Cell PPV Line-up

· WWE TITLE: Randy Orton © vs. John Cena in an Hell in a Cell Match

· WORLD TITLE: CM Punk © vs. The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match

· Degeneration X vs. Legacy in a Hell in a Cell match

· Notice anything? If you say that they are the same three main event matches from Breaking Point, YOU’RE CORRECT!!!!

· INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE: John Morrison © vs. Dolph Ziggler

3) TNA News and Notes

· All charges against Kurt Angle have been dropped so it looks like Rhaka Khan is a liar.

· Condolences to Mick Foley whose father has passed away. Foley’s father was shown in the movie “Beyond the Mat”

· Jim Cornette was released from the company this week. Why you would have someone with such a great wrestling mind like Jim Cornette on your staff and not utilize him on your writing team is beyond me. But on the bright side, Vince Russo still has a job. LOL.

· BG James was also let go. He was working the past year as an agent. While he has gotten good reviews, he is a “friend of Jarrett” so that is probably why he was let go.

· Traci Brooks Playboy.com layout is up. Check out some hot pics HERE, HERE and HERE.

· For those wondering, Angelina Love (Angel Williams) was granted her full release from the company. TNA expects to re-sign her once her VISA issue is cleared up but…should WWE come knocking, she is free to sign with them if she wants.

·Twitter fans, follow Shelly Martinez @funtimeshelly. She's cool people.

4) Ring of Honor News and Notes

· For those of you who are constantly battling me in regards to the possible demise of ROH by claiming that they are still in good shape, let me say that I was around during the heyday of ECW (before they got television on TNN) and never, EVER did any of their shows at the ECW arena draw only 250 people. Last week, ROH had a TV taping at the arena and only had 250 people there. My friends, that is HORRIBLE.

- Dark City Fight Club = Meh. Not too impressed.

· My opinion, Tyler Black is going to rush back to fast from his neck injury,

Danielson’s and McGuinness’ final matches are as follows:

· September 10th: Danielson & Roderick Strong vs. The American Wolves

· September 10th: McGuinness vs. Colt Cabana

· September 11th: Danielson vs. Roderick Strong

· September 11th: McGuinness vs. TBA

· September 18th: Danielson vs. Chris Hero

· September 19th: Danielson vs. Austin Aries

· September 19th: McGuinness autograph signing

· September 25th: Danielson vs. Davey Richards

· September 25th: McGuinness vs. Roderick Strong

· September 26th: Danielson vs. Nigel McGuinness

5) MMA News and Notes

· UFC 105 will have a main event of Randy Couture vs. Brandon Vera. Crap PPV line-up but Randy is a big name that will help with the gate. This is a Spike TV special. Problem is, it’s dangerous. A Randy win means absolutely nothing. A Randy loss basically kills Randy Couture off. No way he can recover as a draw with a loss. Big gamble here.

· The Ultimate Fighter debuted this week with Quinten Jackson and Rashad Evans as coaches and the debut of Kimbo Slice. My bet is that Kimbo goes home early. Within the first 3 episodes.

· Bobby Lashley’s fight against (former WWE developmental and UFC fighter) Ron Waterman for October 3rd has been postponed.

· Gina Carano is expected to not fight until at least 2011. That is a VERY long time between fights. She is signed for a mainstream movie being directed by Steve Sodenburgh that starts filming later this year. The film will be shooting through 2010 and debuts in 2010. Problem is, she is the lead so she is going to have to do press rounds once it is released meaning she can’t train for a fight and even if she could, she can’t have a fight in the event that she is bloodied up/injured because she then wouldn’t be able to promote the movie.

· UFC 103 is on September 19 from Dallas Texas and the line up is as follows:

· Rich Franklin vs. Vitor Belfot

· Mirko “CroCop” Fillipovic vs. Junior dos Santos

· Mike Swick vs. Martin Kampmann

· Josh Koscheck vs. Frnak Trigg

· Tyson Griffn vs. Hermes Franca

· UFC 104 is on Ocrobter 24th from Los Angeles California and the line up is as follows:

· UFC Light Heavyweight Title: Lyoto Machida © vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua

· Cain Velasquez vs. Ben Rothwell

· Gleison Tubau vs. Josh Neer

· Joe Stevenson vs. Spencer Fisher

· Anthony Johnson vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida

6) Random Thoughts, Links, Pics, ETC.

· Random PIC of the week. Hopefully you notice it. LOL.

· Rest in Peace to Patrick Swayze. Probably one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood and a real warrior. The man was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and was given 6 months to live. Somehow he managed to live 18 months. He is finally at peace.

· I wish she would just return my calls already. I miss you KK.

· The fall TV season is upon us and most of my favorite shows are returning. One Tree Hill Season 7 has just started and was pretty decent. The funniest show on TV debuts on Monday as How I Met Your Mother is back. Good stuff all around.

· Barack Obama thinks Kanye West is a JACKASS.

· For anyone who is a General Hospital fan, Sarah Joy Brown (aka Claudia Zacchara) is leaving the show in November.

· James Guttman brings it this week and he really made some phone calls and managed to dig up Oscar from Men On A Mission for this week’s Radio Free Insanity.Oscar has a lot to chime in on so you don’t want to miss out. If you’re not a member, you should join CLUBWWI.COM. Check it out!!!

· Christina Aguilera is still walking around without a bra. But now, she has passed that situation onto Rihanna. Rihanna is braless.

· Big shout out to my friend and a very good DJ, DJ UCH. Check out his site and show some support by visiting him at DJUCH.com

· Finally, we close out with my wife. She has started her own business creating diaper cakes, which are a very original and cost efficient baby shower gift. Please take a second to visit her website: NY Diaper Cakes

Ok kiddies, classes are over for now. See you soon!!!!!!!!!

Feel free to discuss whatever you’d like in the “Anger Management” section of the message board or whichever section you see fit.

World Wrestling Insanity writer Matt Dawgs is the bread and butter of the World Wrestling Insanity family. His future is bright and once James Guttman comes into a large sum of money, you can expect Matt will be getting tons of it thrown at him, at least half of it. Matt used to moonlight as a professional wrestler/manager in the NY/NJ Indy scene. He is legit afraid of getting on Homicide’s bad side but thinks he is a cool dude in general. He also is a funny guy. If you have any questions, corrections, feedback, comments and ideas, he can be reached at Matt@worldwrestlinginsanity.com. If the feedback is negative, you can e-mail Matt at insanity@worldwrestlinginsanity.com.

P.S. – In case you didn’t know, James Guttman has a new WRESTLING BOOK out titled “Shoot First, Ask Questions Later”. It is a damn fun read so I suggest you run out and get it today. If you already have your copy, read it. If you already read your copy, read it again. It is funny; like me.

Also, don’t forget to check out CLUB WWI. It can be found by clicking the banner at the top of this page. Check out all the new audio updates and features found there. Some good stuff including all of James Guttman’s past Radio Free Insanity broadcasts as well as all new, uncut interviews with some of wrestling past and present names. Good stuff people.
