...

Tonight, the #1 contender for the ECW championship teams up with the ECW champion to face the Miz and John Morrison.  Can Matt Hardy trust his partner Mark Henry and should he?  We'll find out tonight on ECW!

ECW is coming to you from Virginia!  Todd Grisham and Matt Stryker are your hosts.

Tommy Dreamer comes down to the ring with a shopping cart full of weaponry.  Colin Delaney looks very reluctant to get in the ring with his former mentor.

1.  Extreme Rules Match:  Tommy Dreamer vs. Colin Delaney: Grisham talks about how Delaney has turned his back on Dreamer not once, but twice.  You know Dreamer is out for revenge.  Delaney doesn't get in the ring.  Instead, he tries to run to the back.  Unfortunately, he trips and falls, leading to a beatdown by Dreamer.  Dreamer misses a punch on his former protege and instead, he hits the ringpost, giving Delaney a breather.  Delaney stomps on Dreamer's injured hand before grabbing a trash can lid.  Before Delaney can strike, Dreamer blasts him with a kendo stick.  Delaney begs for mercy but Dreamer isn't dishing that out tonight.  Dreamer puts the stick between Delaney's legs then delivers a pump handle slam.  Delaney is in serious trouble.  Delaney is placed in the Tree of Woe by Dreamer as Stryker makes a Duke "The Dumpster" Droese reference.  Dreamer sets a garabage can on Delaney before drokicking it.  Dreamer sets Delaney face first on the trash can and goes to drop a trah can lid covered elbow on Dreamer.  Dreamer misses as Delaney rolls out of the way and Dreamer crashes into the trash can.  Delaney blasts a stop sign over Dreamer but misses a followup off the second rope.  Dreamer grabs Delaney and DDT's him onto the stop sign, ending the match.

WINNER:  Tommy Dreamer (by pinfall).

INTERVIEW:  Lena Yada interviews the Miz and John Morrison backstage, congratulating them on the broadcast premiere of the Dirt Sheet last week on ECW.  Footage airs of highlights from last week's Dirt Sheet and how it culminated in Matt Hardy and Mark Henry teaming up against Miz and Morrison tonight in the main event.  Yada reminds Miz and Morrison that their actions led to Morrison tells Yada that he and Miz are the Pineapple Express of the WWE.  Miz tells Matt and Mark they're going to remind them that there are winners in life and there are losers.

VIDEO:  SmackDown Rewind.  Highlights of La Familia being laid out last week by a mystery man who placed black roses on them.  Vicki Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero turned to Edge for help, believing the Undertaker was behind the attacks.  However when Edge, Vicki, and Chavo got in the ring, Edge laid out Chavo with a One Man Conchairto as Vicki looked in horror.  Edge knocked her out of the wheelchair and proceeded to tell her he is going to take the entire family down to hell with him.

VIDEO:  Highlights air of Evan Bourne's tag team victory over Bam Nely last week.

2.  Evan Bourne vs. Bam Nely (w. Chavo Guerrero):  Chavo is favoring his head as he escorts Nely to the ring (Chavo has suffered a concussion according to Matt Stryker).  Nely tries some roughouse tactics on Bourne but it's hard to do anything when you keep missing your opponent.  Bourne doesn't miss Nely, striking him hard with a series of kicks.  Bourne goes to the top rope but gets distracted by Chavo, allowing Nely to knock him off the top turnbuckle.  Bourne is knocked out of the ring by Nely.  Nely rolls him into the ring then begins pounding away with punches followed by a clothesline that sends Bourne spinning 360 degrees.  Nely covers Bourne for a two count.  Nely begins twisting Bourne's neck as the fans rally behind him.  Nely picks up Bourne but Bourne slips out and hits a standing moonsault on Nely.  Cover on Nely for a two count.  Bourne hits a hurricarana on Nely.  Shooting Star Press and a cover for a 1-2-3.

WINNER:  Evan Bourne (by pinfall).

BACKSTAGE:
ECW General Manager Teddy Long is confronted by Armando Estrada who hands him an ECW contract.  Long tells his assistant Tiffany that they're going to celebrate.  Long tells Estrada he knows he came to his office to stick it to him.  Long tells Estrada he's going to have his first official match on ECW tonight-against Finlay.

3.  Finlay (w.  Hornswaggle) vs. Armando Estrada: Collar and elbow tieup with Finlay backing Estrada into the corner.  Finlay blasts Estrada with a forearm uppercut before flooring him with a clothesline.  Finlay rams Estrada's head into the turnbuckle before covering him for a pin.  Finlay drags Estrada towards the outside of the ring, slamming his head into the mat apron.  Mike Knox walks out (This can't be good).  Bodyslam on Estrada.  Finlay applies a nerve hold to Estrada before taking him down to the mat with a crossface.  Estrada reaches the ropes with his legs, forcing a break.  Finlay whips Estrada into the corner before ramming his shoulder into Estrada's midsection.  Finlay gives Knox the hairy eyeball, taking his eye off Estrada.  Estrada capitalizes and begins dropping elbows on Finlay.  Estrada goes to wear down Finlay with forearm smashes to the back followed by a front facelock.  Finlay gets to his feet but Estrada grabs him and slams him down to the mat.  Estrada snapmares Finlay, going back to the facelock.  Estrada has trouble keeping the hold on Finlay.  Finlay escapes and clotheslines Estrada, regaining the advantage.  Finlay picks up Estrada and hits the Emerald Fusion.  Cover and pinfall.

WINNER:  Finlay (by pinfall).

After the match, Knox walks to the back.  Finlay and Hornswaggle celebrate with a young fan, dancing in the ring.

BACKSTAGE:  ECW General Manager Teddy Long and his lovely assistant Tiffany are sipping champagne when Ricky Ortiz gives him a Ricky Ortiz towel.  Ortiz tells Long it's a great investment opportunity.  Long tells Ortiz to slow down as he's got to prove his success over the long haul.  Next week, Ortiz will get another match next week.  Ortiz gives Tiffany a towel.

VIDEO:  WWE Slam of the Week (Highlights of the pull apart brawl between Batista and John Cena last night on RAW).

Todd Grisham and Matt Stryker run down the Summer Slam card.

BACKSTAGE:  Matt Hardy and "World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry exchange words about their tag match tonight.  Hardy tells Henry he'd rather team up with Lena Yada than Henry.  Henry tells Hardy to get in his way, telling him he'll smash through him, just like he's going to do at Summer Slam.

VIDEO:  Hype video for Edge vs. the Undertaker at Summer Slam.

4.  The Miz & John Morrison vs. "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry (w. Tony Atlas) and Matt Hardy: Henry starts off against Morrison.  Morrison tries a waistlock only for Henry to toss him off effortlessly.  Henry slings Morison into the corner then slings Miz into the ring.  Henry whips Miz into Morrison and charges the two wrestlers.  Miz dodges out of the way but Henry still slams into Morrison.  Hardy runs in and dispatches Miz, throwing him out of the ring.

After the break, Hardy is seen body slamming Morrison.  Tag to Henry who beats Morrison down tot he mat with powerful forearm smashes.  Tag to Hardy who comes in and body slams Morrison.  Hardy goes to drop an elbow but Morrison dodges out of the way.  This gives Morrison a chane to tag in Miz.  Miz gets some offense in but Hardy quickly recovers and bull dogs Miz.  Miz and Hardy brawl outside the ring with Miz kicking Hardy into the steel steps.  Miz drops a boot on Hardy before slinging him backfirst into the mat apron.  Back in the ring, Miz targets Hardy's neck with a chinlock.  Hardy tries to punch his way out but Miz forces Hardy into his corner.  Tag to Morrison who covers Hardy for a two count.  Morrison hits a Russian Leg Sweep on Hardy before covering him for a two count.  Morrison beats Hardy down in a neutral corner.  Hardy's troubles continue with Morrison stomping away at Hardy's back.  Morrison whips Hardy into the corner and runs into a Hardy elbow.  Hardy climbs to the first rope and hits a Side Effect on Morrison.  Henry looks eager to tag in Hardy.  Instead, Hardy covers Morrison, winning the match.

WINNERS:  Matt Hardy & Mark Henry (Hardy pins Morrison).

After the match, Henry attacks Miz and tosses him out of the ring.  Henry poses with his ECW championship.  Henry raises Hardy's arm in victory.  Henry then picks up Hardy and delivers "The World's Strongest Slam" to the #1 contender for the ECW strap.
