ECW Real Time Report: Match By Match Coverage

Tonight, eight ECW Superstars compete for four spots in the ECW Scramble Match at
Unforgiven. Mike Knox, Finlay, John Morrison, the Miz, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Chavo Guerrero, and Tommy Dreamer will compete to see who goes to the PPV to face ECW champion Mark Henry. You can be sure the action will be hot and heavy as the stars of ECW fight for their opportunity to win the brand's top title.
ECW General Manager Teddy Long's assistant Tiffany introduces Long. Long tells the fans tonight will feature qualifying matches for the ECW Scramble at Unforgiven. ECW announcers Todd Grisham and Matt Striker talk up the newly added ECW Championship Scramble. 1. Matt Hardy vs. John Morrison: Side headlock by Hardy who's no stranger to wrestling Morrison except tonight it's singles action. Morrison slips out only to get shoulderblocked by Hardy. Matt tries the headlock again but Morrison tries some brawling tactics, getting nowhere. Hardy knocks Morrison off the mat apron when "The Shaman of Sexy" tries a springboard attack. Hardy follows him out and throws Morrison in the ring. Morrison begs for mercy on his knees, luring Matt into a trap that sends him headifrst into a turnbuckle. Morrison unloads punches on Matt before applying a front facelock. Morrison is likely trying to sap Hardy's energy and thus his speed. Hardy gets to his feet and punches at Morrison. Morrison slows him down by delivering a neckbreaker. Morrison drops the boots on Hardy. Morrison tries "Starship Pain" (split legged moonsault) only for Hardy to duck out of the way and fight back. Matt hits a power bomb and covers Morrison for a two count. Side effect by Matt and a cover for another two count. Kick to the gut and Matt goes for the Twist of Fate. Morrison counters and suplexes Hardy rib first onto the top rope. Dazed, Hardy is easy prey as Morrison charges into him and sends him flying off the mat apron. After the break, Morrison is seen applying a chinlock to Hardy. Hardy tries to elbow his way out but his efforts only lead to more punishment by Morrison as "The Tuesday Night Delight" hits a Russian Leg Sweep. Clothesline by Morrison followed by a series of punches. You can really see how much Morrison wants to win this match. Hardy looks dazed as he rolls out of the ring. Morrison follows him out and gets him back in the ring, continuing to punish Hardy with stomps to the gut. Cover on Hardy but Morrison only gets a two count. Morrison goes back to the front facelock but Matt hits a jawbreaker and escapes. Big right hand from Matt sets Morrison up for a bulldog. Cover on Morrison for a two count. Hardy climbs to the second rope and hits an elbowdrop on Morrison's neck. Cover for a two count. Kick to the gut as Matt goes for the Twist of Fate. Morrison counters and shoves Hardy into the ropes. Hardy tries a Twist of Fate again but Morrison counters and pins Hardy with his legs on the rope. The referee breaks the pin when he sees Morrison's legs on the ropes. Series of near falls but no one can get the three count. Morrison surprises Hardy with a springboard kick. Cover on Matt but Hardy kicks out. Morrison charges into the corner only to get elbowed in the face. Both men are really desperate to finish the other and they hit a double clothesline, laying each other out. Both men are down as the referee makes the ten count. Morrison tries for the Moonlight Drive but Hardy stops him. Morrison is dazed enough for Matt to finally hit the Twist of Fate and that's it. Cover and victory for Hardy. WINNER: Matt Hardy (by pinfall). BACKSTAGE: ECW Champion Mark Henry (w. Tony Atlas) confronts Teddy Long. Henry asks Long if he has something personal against him as he can lose his belt without even being pinned. Long says it's nothing personal, it's something new. 2. The Miz vs. Evan Bourne: The two young superstars size each other up before locking up. Bourne tries an early pin attempt but it's unsuccessful. Collar and elbow tie up with Miz getting a momentary advantage only for Bourne to rebound and apply a hammerlock. Bourne refuses the hammerlock, applying the hold until Miz makes it to the ropes, forcing a break. Bourne and Miz try roll-ups unsuccessfully. Bourne applies an arm bar. Bourne dazzles Miz with some fast-paced dropkicks then shifts gears with some basic brawling. Bourne tries a headscissors in the corner but Miz counters and flips Bourne out of the ring, sending Evan crashing down hard onto the floor at ringside. Miz wastes no time going after Bourne, stomping away on his rookie foe. Leg drop on Bourne as Miz follows up with a seated abdominal stretch. Bourne escapes only for Miz to knee him repeatedly. With Bourne softened up, Miz hits a suplex and covers Bourne for a two count. Miz goes back to submission wrestling, applying a bodyscissors on Bourne as he punches away at him. Miz tries a suplex but Bourne counters and shifts weight, knocking Miz down for a two count. The two begin brawling with Miz missing a clothesline. Series of kicks by Bourne floor Miz. Flying headscissors on Miz. Bourne covers him for a two count. Bourne hits a standing moonsault and covers Miz again but Miz kicks out. Spin kick by Bourne. Bourne goes for a hurricarana but Miz ducks and Bourne flies into the ropes. Stunned, he's in no shape to stop Miz as he hits the Reality Check. WINNER: The Miz (by pinfall). BACKSTAGE: Chavo Guerrero (w. Bam Nely) and Tommy Dreamer are seen getting ready for their match with each other. 3. Chavo Guerrero (w. Bam Nely) vs. Tommy Dreamer: Collar and elbow tie-up but Chavo isn't trying to wrestle when he knees Dreamer. Dreamer stops him and takes Guerrero down until Chavo resorts to more brawling. Drop toehold sends Dreamer into the mat apron. Series of kicks on Dreamer . Chavo applies an abdominal stretch, getting the hold in the center of the ring. Amazingly, Guerrero lets Dreamer out of the hold which gives Dreamer a chance to fight back and hit a bulldog on Guerrero. Dreamer is slow to follow up though and he takes his time hitting a running body slam. Dreamer charges into an elbow by Chavo and Chavo climbs the ropes. Unfortunately for him, Dreamer knocks him off , putting him into the Tree of Woe. Hesitation dropkick by Dreamer. Chavo miscalculates a dropkick and he sends Dreamer into Bam Nely (who's standing on the mat apron). Dreamer gets caught though as Chavo bounces Dreamer's neck off the rope. With Dreamer down, Chavo hits the Frog Splash and covers Dreamer for the victory . WINNER: Chavo Guerrero (by pinfall). VIDEO: Hype video for Smackdown your Vote. Finlay (w. Hornswaggle) vs. Mike Knox: Collar and elbow tieup. Knox powers Finlay into the corner. Both men lock up once more with Finlay applying a side headlock. Knox powers out and whips Finlay into the ropes, knocking him down on the rebound with a shoulderblock. Another lockup with Knox powering Finlay into the corner again. Knox shoves Finlay hard into the corner. Yet another lockup with Knox pushing Finlay into the ropes. Finlay throws Knox out of the ring and goes out after him. Knox catches Finlay with a big boot, dazing him. VIDEO: Hype video for the Championship Scramble Matches at Unforgiven. After the bnreak, Finlay is seen working over Knox' left arm. Arm bar by FInlay as the Belfast Brawler rolls him over for a cover and two count. Finlay goes back to the arm, applying an arm bar. Finlay takes Knox over to the mat apron and drops some elbows on his arm. Finlay gets back in the ring and reapplies the arm bar. Knox bails out of the ring and Finlay follows him out. Knox surprises Finlay with a powerslam on the floor. Knox gets Finlay in the ring and begins choking him on the ropes. Knox charges into Finlay, bouncing his neck off the second rope. Cover on Finlay for a two count. Knox goes to wear Finlay down, applying a chinlock. Finlay struggles to reach the ropes but he's unsuccessful. However he hits a jawbreaker and escapes the hold. Knox doesn't let Finlay regain the momentum though and floors Finlay with a clothesline. Knox goes back to the chinlock applying it for what seems like forever. Finla finally escapes only to get shoved into the corner. With Finlay down, Knox goes after Hornswaggle, ripping off his coat. Enraged by Knox' action, Finlay explodes with offense, clotheslining Knox several times before trying the Celtic Cross. Knox counters and hits Finlay with a Big Boot. Cover for a two count. Knox undoes the turnbuckle cover, distracting the referee. Finlay gets the shillelagh but Knox beats him to the punch. Knox grabs the shillelagh but the referee sees him with it and takes it away. While he does so, Finlay gets a second shillelagh and floors Knox, covering him for the win. WINNER: Finlay (by pinfall). After the match, Hornswaggle dances with some young fans.
