Welcome to tonight's ECW report on SyFy. We are one week removed from WWE Bragging Rights were ECW did not even have a match on the PPV. Hopefully the next PPV, Survivor Series, will feature at least ONE ECW match. Last week on ECW we had ECW Champion Christian defend his belt against talented newcomer Yoshi Tatsu who earned a title match after going on a small winning streak. Christian retained the title and then after the match we had William Regal and his Ruthless Roundtable beat down both men to end the show. Tonight we have a tag team main event of Yoshi Tatsu and Christian taking on Vladimir Kozlov and Ezekial Jackson.

-

ECW Champion Christian came out and basically announced that he was tired of Regal sending his hitmen to do all his dirty work and if he wanted a match all he had to do is ask. Regal comes out and accepts his challenge but tells him it must be for next week when they are live in England. ECW GM, Tiffany also adds that if Regal wants the match to be a title match he must agree that the Ruthless Roundtable is banned from ringside! Christian then attacked Regal before his match.

William Regal v.s. Goldust

Goldust has been riding a new wave of momentum lately after reconnecting with the fans during his nice feud with Sheamus who is now on Raw showing why he was the one that won the war. William Regal was beaten down most of the match but made a nice comeback and warms up for next week's big match in England  by getting the win over the Golden One with a Running Knee.

Winner: William Regal

-

Zack Ryder v.s. Shelton Benjamin

We had ECW newcomer, Rosa Mendes, do the ring announcing for this match. I really wish they had drafted Carlito over to ECW to be with Mendes when they were given Sheamus. Maybe he could have had a better chance to become a star like he once was without all the pressure. Anyways, Shelton picked up the win over Mr. Woo Woo Woo with a Paydirt after Ryder was distracted by Rosa putting on lipstick at ringside.

Winner: Shelton Benjamin

-

Paul Birchill and Katie Lea grabbed a mic in the ring and called out the Hurricane again for the millionth week in a row. Paul basically challenged Hurricane to a match next week to where if Birchill loses the match he will leave ECW but if he wins The Hurricane MUST unmask. Hurricane accepted.

LANCE HOYT (Now known as Vance Archer) v.s. Random Jobber

Very cool to see Hoyt finally debut in the WWE. He is a TNA original who became a decent star thanks to former ClubWWI guest Kid Kash and even held the TNA tag team gold with him. The fans embraced Lance and he began doing a "Hoytamania" gimmick that people seemed to like in the Impact Zone. Tonight he made an impressive showing by DESTROYING the jobber in short order with a modified reverse DDT similiar to what Kozlov used to do. A nice debut that put him over as "Intense". I did not really like the new look he had with the short hair and tights but I will get used to it after a while.

Winner: Vance Archer

Yoshi Tatsu and ECW Champion Christian v.s. The Ruthless Roundtable

When I see matches like this I always sit back and ask myself how a guy impressive looking like Big Zeke is forced to sell to anyone on the ECW roster. That guy is a monster that could easily fill the void that Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley left behind as the dominant muscle man in WWE. Kozlov is a good midcard monster kinda like Umaga was but I just don't think he is ready for a main event run right now even on ECW. Christian and Yoshi stole a pinfall over the bad ass duo and won the match. After the bout however William Regal attacked and ended the show with a Regal Stretch on Christian to gain a upperhand for next weeks match.

Winners: Christian and Yoshi Tatsu
