The Heat Report: Haas and Benjamin Challenge The Tag Champs, Londrick vs. The Highlanders, and Duggan Gets His Pits Squeezed By Mayti The Jobber
By Fritz Stephey
Hey Hey guys, once again, here I am and that must mean that it's HEAT time. This week, HEAT is entitled "Who's The 'Greatest?'" (Might that be me?) Apparently our main event will be Haas and Benjamin vs. The Tag Champs Cade and Murdoch.
And speaking of tag teams, we're opening with a Tag match. Londrick will be facing The Highlanders (probably for a record 7th time on HEAT, but I'm too lazy to actual look up my previous reports) Paul and Rory lock up in the middle of the ring, Paul swings out but Rory gets on the armlock. London does a mass of "flippy-tricks" and reverses the move, throws Rory into the corner, and they lock up again. London gets the arm-lock again, but Rory grabs his leg and knocks Paul down. Kendrick tagged in and continues work on Rory's arm. London tagged in, flies off the ropes onto that arm. London is trapped in Scot territory, and Robbie is tagged in. He misses a clothesline and is taken down by a shoulder block from Paul. He almost immediately afterwards hits the arm drag toss. Brian is in, and…well London's tagged back in. A 2-count, more flippin' and flyin' from Londrick, and another 2 count. Their deal this week is to try to work down their opponents arms. Kendrick gets kicked to the outside by Robbie. Quick commercial break. It's Christmastime...you know what that means...buying STUFF, WWE stuff in particular. Everyone wants that right? By the way guys, I'd kill for the Kennedy shirt...not that I'm expecting gifts...or anything. Just saying...I like the Logo. *wink wink...nudge nudge* Kendrick and Robbie are in the ring again, Kendrick on the end of a submission move. Several headbutts from Robbie to stop Kendrick from breaking free. Rory tagged in, 2-count, and a cheap-shot from Robbie and Rory distracts the ref. Kendrick tried sneaking back in the ring to tag London, but Rory caught him and slaps on on submission move. Kendrick fights off, but is still suffering a beating from the Scotsmen. Robbie tagged back in Rory chokes Brian, suplex from Robbie and a 2-count. Rory and Robbie go to double team B. Kenny, by whipping each other into the corner post. Kendrick leaps up as Rory comes flying, and manages to roll him up for a 2-count. Brian sends Rory outside the ring, and that gives him time to tag in Paul London. Paul does what Paul does best. Runs around, hits a million moves, avoids getting hit, but only gets a 2-count, Robbie breaks it. As Robbie goes for the Scot Drop alone, Kendrick saves Paul, sends Robbie outside. Londrick win the match after Paul scores the 3-count. That was a long match, but it was GOOD. At first, all I could see from Londrick was arm-locks, but they moved away from that and the overall match was well-paced and had the action. ½ of The Crazy Ho's is out for a match. Hacksaw Jim Duggan makes his way to the ring. He's taking on…ah who cares, it's a squash. He's taking on a man named Mayti (Pronounced "My Tie"…not kidding). Grisham asks if he's related to Umaga. For the most part, the match has been in control of…to my shock, My Tie. However, I don't see anything promising here. He has this rest hold, where he pretty much just grabs a handful of armpit. NOT kidding, he lifts Hacksaws arm up, and GRABS his pit. Hacksaw sits there, using all his strength trying not to laugh (his pits…apparently are a weakness of sorts). Hacksaw gets some moves in here and there. He ultimately wins the match after hitting his massive clothsline. Your winner - Jimmy. Ever see a squash match where...it was...like a reverse squash? Because Hacksaw maybe got in 3, 4 big moves while this My Ti kid continually got the best of him. Eh, nothing here. Haas and Benjamin make their way to the ring. They are followed by The Tag Team Champions Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch. Benjamin and Cade start off this match. They lock up, which leads to Shelton slapping on the headlock. Hip-toss from Cade, and Benjamin slips to the outside. Haas and Benjamin exchange words outside, and it looks as if they were just gonna walk off. Benjamin waits until the ref gets to 8, and gets back in the ring. Shelly slaps Murdoch in the face, Murdoch tagged in, chases after Benjamin, Shelton immediately tagged in Haas and jumped outside, where Murdoch was blindsided by Haas. Murdoch slams Haas' face in the corner, whips him into the next corner, rushes toward him, Haas flips him over, but Murdoch secures his footing on the outside apron, jumps to the top rope, gives Haas a few punches and flies off to hit a cross-body splash. Big boot to Haas, and Trevor knocks Benji off the side of the ring. Murdoch does an awkward swinging dance, and tags in Cade. Lance and Murdoch double team Haas and Murdoch is back in. Haas gets a hit in, whips Trevor into the corner, but Murd gets the shoulder block. Trev gets tangled in the ropes, and Benjamin, out of nowhere, pops up to get a kick to his face in. Shelton tagged in, and goes with a group of elbow drops. Shelly drags Murdoch away from his corner, away from tagging in Lance. A tag to Haas, a knee to Trevor's face, and Hass gets a variation of a head lock on. Shelton tagged in, and the work-down continues on Trevor. I spoke to soon, Murdoch gets big hits in on Benjamin, but its Shelton who hits a back-breaker, and that will stall a Murdoch come-back. A quick tag to Haas, and he continues to just beat the sh*t out of Trevor. Generally they get in 3-4 big hits and then go to a headlock. Murdoch fights off, temporarily. Runs for Lance Cade but is caught in mid-air by Haas. Murdoch practically rolls up Haas for a pinfall, but as he flipped Haas, he JUST got a tag in to Benjamin. Cade DOES get tagged in and he clears the ring of Haas and works on Shelly. Shelton flies face-first into the corner, gets a big clothesline from Cade. Haas saves the fall, but is sent outside by Murdoch. Trevor flies over the top to finish off Haas. Shelton and Cade in the ring, Cade goes for a suplex, SHELTON reverses into a neckbreaker, but it's only a 2-count. Huge spinebuster from Cade to Shelton Benjamin, and that's the match. Who's the greatest? This time, the Tag Champs Cade and Murdoch are. Not a bad main event at all, pretty good. It had action all over the place, it had close moments…it was good. Overall, though it was 3 matches, it was a good round of HEAT. That is, if you're ok with pretty much just 2 tag matches. I don't think I have to tell you Hacksaw/My Ti isn't worth it (Unless you want to see the "Pit-squeeze of death"). There was good action throughout both Tag Matches. Overall a good round of HEAT. That's it for me. As always, I appreciate comments and criticisms. I'm always on the boards (the_nWo), or you can send one to my e-mail ( BrothaFritz@gmail.com).
