The Heat Report: The Rock Confronts Hogan, Damian Demento vs. The Undertaker, Dusty Rhodes Puts Strange Restrictions On His Kids, and More

...

Hey World Wrestling Insanity readers, it's that time again, for HEAT! This week it's a tad different, though. HEAT is taking a look back on 15 Years of RAW.

Todd Grisham welcomes us to this special edition of HEAT, and tells us we're gonna take a look at some of the greatest matches, interviews and superstars of RAW.

The First match we'll be privileged to view? RAW's First Main Event. January 11th, 1993. Undertaker vs. Damien Demento.

Yes, I will be reviewing the matches/highlights, whatever. They start the match with a stare-down and Demento sends some hits to Undertakers chin...but when he sends Undertaker of the ropes, it's The Dead man who shows Demento the mat. Undertaker goes up top, walks across the ropes and smashes his hand across Damien's shoulder. Taker sends DD into the corner, but gets a kick to the face. Shoulder block and it would appear DD has control...whoops, until Undertaker dodges a clothesline, flies off the ropes and takes him down. Tombstone, 1-2-3, and your winner, The Undertaker.

It's nice to look back, y'know.

Jeff Hardy's favorite RAW moments is when he and Matt won the Tag Titles against The Acolytes

RAW 6/29/99. As Farooq and Bradshaw make their way to the outside of the ring, Matt lunges out, but is caught by both me...Jeff then flies out knocking everyone down. Bradshaw works on Jeff and DAMN Man is working on Matt. Matt hits a neckbreaker and both the Hardy's go up top. 2 Count on Farooq, and a spinebuster in return. Big boot to the face from JBL to Matt. Bradshaw whips Matt into the corner, but ends up on the losing end, as Matt kicks him in the face. Hardy Boy goes up top, but JBL grabs him as he flies off. Jeff hits them both down, from the top rope. Farooq has taken control against Jeff, but a kick to the gut and a DDT, and a 2-count later, and now JBL is tagged in. Matt tagged in after a kick to Brad's face. Clothesline from hell on Matt, count broken up by Jeff.

JBL now has the control, takes Matt to the corner. He lifting him up to the top rope, but Jeff hits JBL with a pipe! 1-2-3 for Matt, and they're the NEW tag champs.

Just to let you know, they didn't show the contact between the pipe and JBL...(It's the freakin' internet!!!). Awesome match though.

Coachman's favorite RAW moment? You don't care...Oh, but he has one! It was a RAW in San Diego where Coachman makes fun of Eugene, tells him he has no friends, and The Rock shows up. We're shown a clip of the segment. Coach says to Rocky that the last time they saw each other, Rock's ass was getting kicked all over MSG. The Rock, acknowledges he lost, but asks the Coach is that really what he thinks? Eugene than interrupts when Coach goes to answer, sporting the Rock's "It doesn't matter what you think!".

Speaking of The Rock, we're gonna take a look back at RAW on February 18th, 2002, where Rocky confronts Hulk Hogan.

Now this is just fun to watch...because of all the blurred out old logo's. Entrance ramp? Giant blurred square in the middle. The Mic's Hogan and Rock have? Giant blurred squares. Rock likes that he and Hogan are in the same ring. Rock asks if Double H if he really thinks it was the fans who drove him out of the WWE. (Also funny because the censor the "F", so he really just said WW).  Hogan says that's EXACTLY wh--It doesn't MATTER what you think! I don't really have to explain what's going on here...this is just some cool stuff from the past. Sit back and enjoy it. Wrestlemania...Hogan, The Rock, one-on-one. Hogan says it'll be a pleasure to kick Rock's ass at WM. Rock Bottom to the king of the nWo.

A quick commercial break for MISTER KENNEDY....to tell you that all WWE Superstars are trained professionals and the moves they perform takes years of training and expeirence, and that anything can happen, so please, people, don't try this sh*t at home or at school or to your boss at work! KENNEDY!

Mickie James talks about the famous Divas. She says Lita and Trish were both highlights of their time.

RAW December 6th, 2004. Trish vs. Lita (we are starting in mid-way). Trish was slapping the crap out of Lita's face. Trish choking Lita while sitting on the top turnbuckle. Lita flips her and locks on a lock, but Trish sends Lita back-first into the corner. Snapemare from Trish, and Stratus locks on a submission move. Lita breaks out, and now they're fighting on the tope rope. Lita hits a superplex, and they're both down. Let the 10-count begin.

Lita covers Trish, but only a 2-count. Trish dodges a clothesline, and nails Lita with a roundhouse kick. Trish sends Lita into the the corner, jumps up and goes for the 10-punches...but only gets 3...see, turns out, she was in the perfect position for Lita to hit a powerbomb. Lita is going up top, but Trish stop her, picks her up, but Lita turns it into a roll-up pin, but only a 2-count! Trish hits a DDT, uses the ropes but only gets a 2 count. Lita hits a twist of fate, a moonsault and grabs the 3-count...

...I forgot that, when you have two good women wrestlers, you CAN have a good Diva's match.

Cody Rhodes is up to speak, and he says for the most part he watched WCW, since his Daddy worked there. He says before the Monday Night Wars he wasn't allowed to view WWE programming. He got busted for having a Big Boss Man Wrestlebuddy. He says Dusty got over it. Cody says he really watched WWE because of Dustin. He recalls the Golddust character, and really liking it. Thinking the whole Character was cool.

RAW July 16th 2007 (NOT a typo). Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton. I'm pretty sure this was Cody's first match, wasn't it? The one where Dandy Randy pulled out that patented "Toe-of-death", Yeah...good times...good times. RKO'd, 1-2-3.

CM Punk talks about Raw. He says Shawn Michaels was his favorite. His favorite RAW moment? When he first wrestled there.

RAW March 26th, 2007. CM Punk vs. Kenny Dykstra. Again, not a full match, we start in midway. Clothesline from Kenny, another clothesline from Kenny, and a 2-count. Neckbreaker from Dykstra, and the Chicago crowd continues chanting CM Punk. Kenny tires suplexing CM Punk, and Punk takes over. Big kick to the head from Punk, hits a springboard clothesline. Bulldog headlock, 1-2, no. Kenny trips Punk into the ropes, neck first. Punk sends him up, knee to the face, and your winner, CM Punk!

Todd Grisham brings up the 15th Anniversary RAW. Who IS the greatest RAW Superstar. Well, this pretty much is just the end of the 15th Anniversary Raw. First it shows Vinnie-Mac saying HE is the greatest. Cut back to Grisham who states, not everyone agrees. Mick Foley gives him the claw. Todd Grisham cuts back to say The Greatest...is not DEAD. Cuts to Undertaker choke-slamming the Chairmen. Grisham says, wow, who else doesn't like this guy? Stone Cold Steve Austin grabs beers, mocks McMahon, hits a stunner, and this extended edition of HEAT is OVER!

Alright, case and point? Looking back at some great RAW moments, and then it dips into stuff that was, well, way to recent for me to really enjoy. That being said, it's a 45 minute HEAT, and I think it's worth a watch, if not for just the first 15-20mins.

That's it folks. Questions, comments, criticisms all appreciated. I'm on the boards, I have a forum in the "Other Insanity" section...go nuts. Cya next HEAT.
