RDLee's TNA Impact Report - Abyss Takes On Desmond Wolfe In The Main Event
By RDLee Feb 25, 2010 - 3:50 PM Hey TNA fans, RDLee here covering for Jana Bulloch aka "Girly Parts Jesus" for tonight's episode of Impact. She should be back in full effect starting with next weeks show (thank God!!!!) so make sure to welcome her back on the message boards. We started off tonight with an in ring promo from TNA World Heavyweight champion AJ "Buttnugget" Styles and The Nature Boy Ric Flair. Styles pulls off a classic Flair catch phrase by claiming "To be the man, you gotta beat the man" Ric calls out Hulk Hogan for him giving his Hall of Fame ring to Abyss like he did saying it a disgrace. Abyss came out to Hogan's music to respond. Flair runs down Abyss to his face and tells him that he is not a Hall of Fame caliber wrestler. Abyss responds by telling Flair he would remove AJ Styles boots and shove them up his ass. AJ jumps in and tells Abyss the crowd all came to see him and demanded that he take off the ring and put it on his hand instead. Hogan then suddenly comes out to defend Abyss and put down AJ and Flair. He tells them that he is ready for a fight and the heels bail out of the ring with Flair saying that by the end of the show that ring would be on Styles hand.
- Tables Match - The Nasty Boys (w/Jimmy Hart) v.s. Team 3D It's very cool to see Jimmy Hart manage the Nasty Boys again even though they are now a nostalgia act in most ways. Team 3D once again busted their ass to put on a fun match with the veterans. Jimmy Hart tried to help his team win again but this time Jesse Neal came out for some reason and took the biker helmet away from Hart and gave it to D'Von instead who used it on Sags. Team 3D finished the match and picked up the win after putting Sags thru a table via the 3D. Winners: Team 3D -
Daffney v.s. O.D.B. Daffney got herself DQed by going literally bat shit insane on O.D.B. by slamming her legs onto the ringpost on the outside and pounding her leg with a kendo stick until Dr. Stevie pulled Daffney away. Tara was interviewed backstage during the match and spoke about the women's title. Winner by DQ: O.D.B. - Beer Money came out and complained about being the best team in TNA and being overlooked by Hogan and others. They demanded a shot in the spotlight again. The fans reacted well to them. Hernandez came out to the ramp and told them with a weird and creey voice that had nothing to prove and that they could have tag team title shot against him and Matt Morgan in the near future. Backstage we saw Jeremy Borash interview Eric Young and Kevin Nash about Scott Hall and Syxx. Nash and Young said they will destoy Hall and Syxx whenever they finally get the chance. Next we went into Eric Bishoff's office, Jeff Jarrett went off on him about his treatment. Bishoff responds by telling Jarrett that he wants to talk to him in the ring later on and he promised he will give him the opportunity he has been begging for and to trust him.
Off commercial we heard Eric Bishoff go off on Jeff Jarrett in the ring for not doing what he told him to do against Abyss last week by not using the barbed wire baseball bat and as punishment told Jarrett he would now be working in TNA's catering department. He gave him a burger flipper and hairnet as a smart ass jesture. Jarrett looked stunned. Bishoff told him to quit. Jeff refused and stood in the ring upset.
We came back from commercial and saw Matt Morgan talk down to Hernandez for him granting Beer Money a tag title shot without his consent. They agreed to speak to one another next time something similiar comes up.

Frankie Kazarian (Kaz) v.s. The Brian Kendrick
It's good to see Kaz get out of that hideous Suicide gimmick and become himself again. Kaz has always been one of my favorite TNA X-Division stars even going back to the weekly Wednesday night PPVs. Suicide was a cool idea that used the video game character into real life superstar storyline for far too long. Unless they are working on TNA Impact 2 the game I don't see any point in keeping Suicide around.
Kazarian looked very good and almost at home in this match. The crowd loved him and chanted "Let's Go Kaz". Frankie picked up the win over Kendrick after hitting his old finisher the Flux Compacitor which is a flipping reverse Rock Bottom off the top rope. Amazing finisher to see everytime he hits it.
Winner: Kaz
Off the break we saw Abyss talk about the magical powers he recieved when putting on the Hall of Fame ring that Hogan gave him. So apparently a WWE ring is giving a TNA star powers to be better than the rest of the roster. How funny. Next we saw Christy Hemme speak with Mr. Anderson who instead pulled down his own microphone from the ceiling and ran down Angle. He also mentioned that he would beat Rob Terry for the Global Championship and have his first taste of TNA gold tonight. - Rob Terry v.s. Mr. Anderson - TNA Global Championship Match Mr. Anderson did some mic work running down a fallen soldiers dog tags before the match, which almost never happened as Kurt Angle came up thru the stage via his entrance elevator, stood there listening to Anderson and then assaulted him with a chair before he even got into the ring. The match started after the attack and Rob Terry who is a babyface now for some reason, took advantage and quickly finished Anderson off with a Running Powerslam for the win. I really don't know what to think of this segment other than they could picked someone better to feed Anderson to in a case like this. Why not Daniels or Joe at the very least... I am not sold on Terry yet to be honest. I think there are several other guys that deserve the push that Rob is getting before he does. Just my opinion. Winner and STILL TNA Global Champion: Rob Terry - We saw Kevin Nash and Eric Young go outside to confront Hall and Waltman. Young went after Syxx while Hall jumped Nash and hit his knee with a steel pipe taking him out. Young beat down Waltman until Hall made the save and beat him down. Hall and Waltman spray painted something on the back of Eric's shirt before walking away and taunting them with crotch chops. Next we saw Mick Foley come into Eric Bishoff's office wearing the new suit he bought for him. There was a stain on the suit already which Foley blamed on Jeff Jarrett who was working in TNA catering. Now Bishoff is telling Foley that they want him to be a asset for the company but he has to clean himself up a little more. They are sending him to school for something now too. - Abyss v.s. Desmond Wolfe (w/ Chelsea) This is your main event. It's funny to me how Nigel McGuiness goes to TNA and becomes a main eventer instantly and Bryan Danielson goes to WWE and gets stuck on a show where he is being mentored by a guy that has only been around for a few years. I understand TNA is not the WWE but seriously I still can't figure out why they thought Danielson would need the extra tune ups in order to get over with the crowd. This was nearly a squash match so I was wrong about Wolfe being lucky to be here I guess. The finish saw Abyss stop Wolfe with the Black Hole Slam and win the match in only 2 minutes. There was WAY too much Abyss tonight if you ask me. And bringing him out to American Made is a damn joke. I hate the direction they are going with this but am hopeful it can lead to something special for Abyss down the line. Winner: Abyss
AJ Styles and Ric Flair hit the ring and with Wolfe began to beat down Abyss even hitting him with a chair which he no sold the effects of. Hulk Hogan runs to the ring to make the save only to get stopped by a Flair chopblock. The heels had already handcuffed Abyss to the ring before they beat down and bloodied Hogan. Styles hit Hulk with the TNA title belt before Abyss broke free from the handcuffs and ran the heels out of the ring. They took a stupid commercial break at this point which KILLED THE MOMENTUM of what just happened. Back off commercial we had Hulk Hogan announce that he would team with Abyss on the March 8th Monday Night show to take on AJ Styles and Ric Flair to end the show.
