TNA Impact! Post-Sacrifice...Er...Sacrifice

By Tommy Harvey May 20, 2010 - 8:32 PM

Well, Sacrifice was Sunday.  What's going to happen tonight?  Who knows (unless you have read the spoilers)?  This is TNA for Pete's sake.  I would assume we will get some type of fallout.  Let's find out shall we.

To start the show, we get a Sacrifice video package.  RVD retained, Tara retired, Abyss requires Chelsea's services, Jeff Hardy refused Mr. Anderson's handshake, and Sting reamed Jeff Jarrett.

Mike Tenay welcomes us to Impact with major news that there will be a huge announcement from the Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff regime concerning tonight's main event.  Kurt Angle makes his return.

Out comes Easy E with his sexretary.  He is naming the Top 10 contenders, according to the rankings.  The rankings are based on fan polling, career win/loss record and previous championship record, and TNA win/loss and championship record.  Number 10...Samoa Joe.  Number 9...Rob Terry.  Number 8...Desmond Wolfe.  Number 7...The Pope.  Number 6...Abyss.  Number 5...Mr. Anderson.  Number 4...Jeff Hardy.  Number 3...AJ Styles.  Number 2...Kurt Angle, but he doesn't come out and Bischoff looks confused.  And finally number 1...Sting???  What has he done to deserve a title shot?  I guess choking Dixie Carter and beating down Jeff Jarrett and Hulk Hogan with a bat entitles you to a TNA Heavyweight Title match.  Out comes Sting to the ring.  He will face RVD at Slammiversary.  Tonight, he will face Jeff Hardy.  That must be the major announcement about tonight's main event.  Sting talks about change and attacks Bischoff with the bat.  Abyss attempts to help Easy E, but he gets a baseball bat beatdown too.  Hardy comes up from behind and steals the bat.  Sting and Hardy get face-to-face and Hardy slaps Sting.  Sting the lays out Hardy and RVD's music hits.  As Van Dam makes his way down the ramp, Hardy recovers and hits the Twist of Fate.  RVD and Hardy are left in the ring, as Sting rolls out.  Commercial break.

Back from the break, we get a replay of what just happened.  In the back, Bischoff is trying to recover with Hogan and Matt Morgan comes in demanding a rematch for the tag titles.  When he leaves, Hogan says Sting needs to disappear quick.

In the Impact Zone, Roxxy comes out for action.  She was on the shelf for awhile with a broken ankle.  The Knockout's Champion Madison Rayne is her opponent in this non-title matchup and makes her way to the ring.  This match starts with a quick roll up attempt by Roxxy and another pin attempt.  Roxxy misses a boot and gets hung up in the ropes.  Madison takes control and fails on a pin attempt.  Madison then chokes Roxxy on the ropes and lands a boot to the side of the head.  Roxxy reverses an attempt by Madison to send her into the ropes and catches her for the Voodoo Drop.  Roxxy gets the win over the Knockout's Champion in her return.

Chelsea and Desmond Wolfe are in the back talking about Chelsea not wanting to be with Abyss for the next 30 days and he tells her not to worry about it.

Somebody catches up with Kurt Angle and asks him why he didn't show up when he was announced earlier.  He didn't answer and kept walking.  Commercial break.

Kurt Angle video package.  Very well done.  They always do nice video packaging.

Out comes Angle to the ring.  He says he noticed alot of changes while watching TNA at home for the last month.  He said that when he started in TNA he was the best.  The fans chant "You still are."  He says with the recent additions like RVD, Jeff Hardy, and Mr. Anderson, as well as younger guys who have stepped up, he is no longer one of the elite.  He says Kurt Angle would wrestle for free.  For him it was never about money or ego, but being in the ring and putting everything on the line.  Kurt Angle was bred to be a winner and he will be a winner for the rest of his life.  He says he is going through a difficult time right now because he feels like he needs to reinvent himself.  He is going to start from scratch, start over, and take himself out of the Top 10.  He is going to fight everybody in the Top 10 and put on some of the greatest matches of all-time.

Christy Hemme is shown in the back with Ric Flair and Beer Money.  She asks who he thinks is going to be Jay Lethal's partner tonight against Beer Money.  He says he doesn't know and tells Lethal he should not immitate him or stick his nose where it doesn't belong.  In comes Kazarian says he wants to speak to Flair.  Flair hits on Christy as they wrap up the interview.  Commercial break.

Rob Terry is talking in the back about his injured knee and how he will still fight Orlando Jordan tonight and continue to work his way up in the company.

Orlando Jordan is lowered into the ring from the rafters for his TNA Global Championship match.  Out next is the champ Rob Terry with a very noticable limp.  As the bell rings, Jordan tries to attack Terry's knee, but Terry overpowers him.  He uses his power to dominate Jordan in the early going.  Jordan pleads for mercy and attacks Terry's knee.  Once down on the mat, Jordan continues the assault on the knee.  Jordan gets Terry into a knee bar and referee Earl Hebner calls for the bell.  After the bell, Jordan continues to attack Terry's knee as referees try to break it up.  As he leaves the ring, he blows a kiss to Terry.

In the back, Jay Lethal explains how he was just trying to show respect to Flair by immitating him a few weeks ago.  In comes Rob Van Dam and he tells Lethal that he will be his partner tonight.  Commercial break.

In the back, Jeff Hardy is putting on his face paint and talking about idolizing Sting as a child.

Ink Inc. busts into Team 3D's locker room and Jesse Neal asks why Bubba attacked him on Sunday and calls him jealous.  He tells him to keep his distance from now on and they have a semi brawl with each's partner holding them back.

Back in the Impact Zone, Beer Money makes their way to the ring.  Out next is Jay Lethal...no gimmicks...no immitations.  Out next is his partner, Mr. TNA Rob Van Dam.  Roode and Lethal start the match and Roode wastes no time in pummeling Lethal.  Lethal fights back and lands a beautiful drop kick. As Lethal goes to the top rope, Storm pushes him off and gets the tag in.  He dominates Lethal for a while and tags Roode back in and they hit a double back body drop.  Roode tags Storm back in after a couple of bashes.  Lethal gets a springboard off the ropes and takes Storm down.  He gets a tag to RVD, who dominates until a tag from Lethal, who hits the Lethal Combination and RVD gets Rolling Thunder.  Lethal then puts the Figure Four on Robert Roode for the victory.  As Lethal makes his way up the ramp after the match, Flair comes down and brawls all the way up the ramp and to the backstage area.  RVD celebrates with the fans until Sting comes out of the crowd with a chair to lay him out.  Commercial break.

As we return to Impact, we get another replay of Sting being named the number one contender.

Jeff Hardy is in the ring.  He says nobody really knows what goes on inside his mind.  Thank God.  He dares Sting to try to figure him out because he and his creatures of the night will take Sting to his wildest imagination.

In the back, security comes for Chelsea to take her to Abyss.

Abyss makes his way to the ring and grabs a mic.  He tells Desmond Wolfe that he has someone he owes to him.  Out comes security with Chelsea and Wolfe follows them out.  Desmond tells Abyss that he is sorely mistaken if he thinks he's taking Chelsea.  He then proceeds to give Abyss a lowblow and beats up on security.  He grabs a bottle and shatters it.  With the broken bottle, he slices Abyss and Chelsea tries to stop him.  With his back turned, Wolfe is grabbed from behind and given a Black Hole Slam by Abyss.  Abyss takes Chelsea by the hand and picks her up and walks to the back.  Commercial break.

Back in the ring, The Band is waiting to talk.  Eric Young tells the fans he understands the boos because he has everything and they have nothing.  He says Hall and Nash are the only ones in the business he has anything in common with.  He says The Band isn't here to entertain the mutants, but to make the big bucks.  Out comes Ink. Inc.  Shannon Moore has a match with EY tonight.  At the offset, EY jumps on Moore, but Moore reverses and takes Young down.  EY gets back on the offensive and starts to wear down the mohawked one.  Moore fights his way back and hits a series of kicks after a bulldog.  Moore goes off the top for a corkscrew moonsault.  Out comes Bubba and Jesse Neal goes after him.  Back in the ring, Earl Hebner has his back turned and Hall nails Moore with the tag title belt and EY hits the Pile Driver for the win.  As Jesse Neal makes his way back to the ring to check on his tag partner, Bubba chases him down and lays him out.  Devon comes down to break it up.  Commercial break.

In the ring, we have an impromtu 8-man X Division battle royal to see who will replace Kurt Angle in the Top 10 Rankings.  Amazing Red is the first eliminated.  Max Buck from Generation Me is next.  Alex Shelley is out next.  Sabin eliminates Jeremy from Gen Me.  Kaz eliminates Sabin.  Kendrick eliminates Homicide. Kaz eliminates Kendrick to win and enter the Top 10 Rankings at number 10.  Ric Flair is looking on in approval at Kazarian.  Up next is Jeff Hardy and Sting.  Commercial break.

My question is where is Matt Morgan in the Top 10?  He should be in there over Rob Terry.  He should definitely be in there if Angle is out of it.

Out first is Sting with bat in hand.  Jeff Hardy now makes his way out.  On the initial hookup, Sting backs Hardy into the corner and lands a cheap shot as the ref tries to break it up.  Hardy fights back and Sting rolls out.  As Sting is walking around the ring, Hardy hits a baseball slide kick and then misses on a jump out of the ring.  Sting then takes advantage and goes after Hardy's knee.  After tossing Hardy back into the ring, he continues to pick his knee apart.  Sting hits a Stinger Splash, but misses a second and Hardy takes over.  Hardy attempts a Whisper in the Wind, but misses.  Sting hooks in the Scorpion Death Lock.  Hardy reaches the ropes and Sting is forced to let go.  As Sting pulls Hardy back to the middle of the ring, the referee is knocked to the outside.  Out comes Mr. Anderson and hits a Scorpion Death Drop on Sting.  The referee climbs back in and Hardy gets the pinfall.  Anderson gets back in the ring to celebrate, but Hardy pushes him away.  Anderson pleads his case and reaches for his mic, but Sting comes back in and nails both Anderson and Hardy with the bat as we end the show.

That's it for this week.  Join me again next week.
