TNA Impact: The Monday Night Experiment Is Over, Now It's Back To Thursdays
Guess who's back...back again...Impact's back...tell a friend. So, Impact is back on Thursday nights. I guess that means they have realized that they can never compete head to head with the WWE. They are better off on Thursdays and I think everybody except for them knew that from the beginning. The Hulkster should be content with the .90 rating that TNA will consistently get on there own night, and that is way higher than what they have been getting lately on Monday nights. We open the show with a video package of last week's highlights. Easy E comes out to the Impact Zone for the opening segement. He introduces the TNA Heavyweight Champion....ROB VAN DAM!!! THE WHOLE F'N SHOW!!!! Bischoff plugs the online Top 10 poll and says a lot of information came out of that poll. He says nothing could be better than RVD vs Jeff Hardy for tonight. But there is just one problem....nobody can find Hardy, so he will have to give RVD the night off. RVD says he is a fighting champion and doesn't want the night off and out comes AJ Styles. He tells RVD he is in the mood to hurt somebody, so that's good that RVD wants a match. He says he is going to break RVD's legs tonigh, so he won't have to break a sweat on Sunday at Sacrifice. Out comes Jeff Hardy. I thought nobody could find him. He says he is sorry he is late because the switch from Mondays to Thursdays was confusing to him. Crack is a heck of a drug. Bischoff then makes a 3-way match for the title tonight. Jeff Hardy vs AJ Styles vs Rob Van Dam. Commercial break. Back from break, we are backstage with JB as he interviews the Beautiful People. Madison Rayne says she will prove on Sunday that she deserves the title. Apparently Lacey Von Erich has to pee. In the Impact Zone, Taylor Wilde is accompanied by Sarita to the ring for her match against Tara. Next out is Tara with her spider. Sarita is sent to the back. As the bell sounds, Taylor unloads and Tara rolls out. Wilde then jumps off the apron on to her. Back in the ring, Tara is begging Taylor not to hurt her because they are friends. She then throws Wilde out onto the ramp. After she tosses Taylor back into the ring, she misses an over the top rope leg drop. Taylor goes for a springboard, but Tara kicks her in the abdomen and picks up the pinfall. After the match, Tara continues to attack Taylor until Sarita comes down to break it up. Backstage, Chelsea is being attended too and Desmond Wolfe is tyring to get everybody away from her. Commercial break. Back from commercial, Christy Hemme is announcing that Chelsea alleged that she was attacked and she will have more as the story unfolds. Brian Kendrick is waiting in the ring as Douglas Williams makes his way to the ring wearing HIS X Division title belt. He tells Kendrick he is a loser and not worthy of a title match. Taz says he can't make it a title match anyways because he isn't the champion. The bell sounds and Kendrick attacks Williams. Williams then overtakes him and goes on the offensive. Kazarian comes out to do commentary. Kendrick surprises Williams with his quickness and Williams rolls out of the ring. Back in the ring, Williams takes Kendrick down and puts him in a single legged Boston Crab. Kaz walks down the ramp to grab the title and Williams leaves Kendrick to make sure Kaz doesn't get to it. As he is reaching for the title belt, Kendrick rolls Williams up for the win. In the back, Christy Hemme is trying to get more details and security says he can't believe what he just heard. Commercial break. Back from break, Christy says she can confirm the name of Chelsea's attacker but can't reveal it until he is in police custody. Generation Me is in the ring. Matt Morgan then makes his way out for a handicap match. The match starts and Morgan hits a double clothesline and just destroys his opponents. He grabs a mic and tells Hogan he promised there would be bloodshed if he didn't deliver a name of his partner for Sacrifice. Samoa Joe hits the ring and takes it to The Blueprint and gives the big 7 footer a Muscle Buster. Out comes Hall and Nash with their Feast of Fired briefcase that has a tag title contract in it. It looks like cash in time. Nash just gets down for the cover and we have new TNA World Tag Team Champions. Commercial break. I guess Hogan is making it a point to give his friends titles now. Ink Inc. is in the back discussing their title shot on Sunday. MCMG, Team 3D, Beer Money, and Ink Inc. are about to engage in a 4-way tag match. James Storm and Alex Shelley start this thing off. Storm backs Shelley into the corner, but Shelley fights out of it. As Storm attempts a roll up, Sabin tags himself in and the blur begins. Sabin is eventually thrown into 3D's corner and Devon tags in. Robert Roode gets a tag and Devon hits a powerslam and a tag to Ray. Shannon Moore gets a blind tag and lands a cross body on Roode. Roode gains control and tosses Moore to the outside. Storm pounds on him a little and tosses him back in to Roode. Storm and Roode get a little tag action and Storm settles in. He then tags back out to Roode and he gets comfortable in the ring for a minute. Moore fights his way out, but Roode slows him back down. Another tag to Storm and he lands a series of knees into a rest hold. Moore again fights out and hits a bulldog out of nowhere. Roode gets a tag and so does Jesse Neal. He comes in amped up and things break down when everybody thinks they are legal. The Guns hit their offense on Devon and Storm and then get taken outside by Roode. In the ring, Neal is being handled by 3D until Moore breaks it up. As Team 3D is looking to hit Moore with a 3D, Neal breaks it up. Moore hits the Mooregasm and Neal lands a spear for the pinfall over Ray. Backstage in the locker room, Ric Flair is talking up AJ and says he smells a rift between Hardy and RVD. Rob Terry is seen walking backstage. Next is Abyss vs Rob Terry for the TNA Global Championship. Commercial break. Back in Jeff Hardy's locker room, he is putting on his face makup and RVD walks in. He thanks RVD for bringing him into the match and they look to be on the same page. Making his way to the ring is the TNA Global Champion Big Rob Terry. Out next is supposed to be Abyss, but he is being detained by the police in the back in relation to the attack on Chelsea. He doesn't know what he did. As he is being put in the cop car, Desmond Wolfe attacks him and is quickly pulled off. Hogan comes along to comfort him and tells him not to worry and that he knows he didn't do it. Hulk takes off Abyss's mask and covers up his face so that we can't see him. Abyss is loaded into the car and driven away. Back in the ring, Rob Terry looks confused. Orlando Jordan then attacks him from behind and gives him a low blow. He slithers out of the ring and reaches under the apron for a steal pipe and lays out Big Rob. This Sunday at Sacrifice, Terry will defend his title against Orlando Jordan. Commercial break. Back from commercial, Orlandon Jordan is in the ring with a mic. I hate this guy. I hated him in the WWE and I hate him now. He offers an open challenge to anyone in the back and Tomko comes out. He's gotten fat. Tomko lands a spinebuster right off the bat. Orlando Jordan gets a double leg takedown and lands a couple of punches. Tomko gets back up and gets a dropkick in the mouth. Jordan is in control of this match. Tomko does exhibit some power, but Jordan quickly hits a Backstabber. As Tomko gets back up, Jordan latches onto him with a Guillotine choke for the victory. In the back, Hogan is in a conference room and Lacey Von Erich comes in and hands him a phone with a video on it. I guess she took it while she was on her way to pee. Commercial break. In the back, Eric Bischoff is telling Tara she is going to have another match tonight, this time with Sarita. Out comes Sarita to the Impact Zone. Tara comes out next and Sarita meets her on the ramp. She gets some retribution for Taylor and then throws Tara into the ring. Tara rolls out and Sarita chases her down. Back in the ring, Sarita is still dominating this match up. She trys undoing Tara's knee brace. After Sarita accidentally hits the referee in the eyes, Tara hits her with the brace and gets the cover for the win. Styles is shown in his locker room as we go to break. So even though Desmond Wolfe won this week's Top 10 poll by an overwhelming margin, Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles are getting a shot tonight. That makes sense. I guess it also makes sense that instead of making us pay to see this match on Sunday, they are giving it to us for free. Out first is Jeff Hardy. He is facing Mr. Anderson............................................ Anderson on Sunday. Out next is the Phenomenal AJ Styles. Commercial. ROB VAN DAM!!! THE WHOLE F'N SHOW!!! As you can probably figure out, the TNA World Heavyweight Champ is out next. As he steps in the ring, AJ jumps out. The match starts and AJ tries to go after both his opponents, but his efforts are futile. RVD and Hardy take turns landing shots on Styles until Hardy attempts a pin. Hardy then hits his spinning kick and knocks RVD out of the ring. RVD gets back in and lands a back kick on both Hardy and Styles. He then suplexes both men and attempts a pin on Styles. Hardy makes the save and hits the facebuster suplex on both guys to go along with neckbreackers. AJ makes the save on a pin attempt by Hardy. He then assumes control of the match. He sinches in the Figure Four on RVD, but Hardy connects with a leg drop to prevent the submission. AJ throws Hardy to the outside and Mr. Anderson comes down to attack the Charismatic Enigma. RVD goes out for the save and AJ flips out of the ring and lands on all three of them. AJ rolls RVD into the ring and pins him with his feet on the ropes. This was obviously a non-title match. I didn't catch that before. Mr. Anderson is backing his way to the back and wearing a shirt that says "Pro Wrestling is Real." Hardy climbs back into the ring with a mic. He tells Anderson to get back to the ring. Anderson makes his way to the ring, but changes his mind. Out comes the Hulkster. Anderson tries to take a shot at Hogan, but he gets laid out and Hardy comes back to the ramp to take control. Commercial. Back in the Impact Zone, Hardy and Anderson continue to brawl. Hardy gets slammed face first into the steel steps, but bounces back and tosses Anderson into the the barricade. He sets him up on a table under the broadcast booth. Hardy climbs on top of the broadcast table and hits a Swanton Bomb through the table from about 10 feet up. WOW!!! Hardy is going to kill himself one day! Officials come out to check on Anderson. We get to see the video Lacey Von Erich showed to Hogan. It is of Desmond Wolfe and Chelsea setting up their story to frame Abyss. On Sunday, Desmond Wolfe puts up the services of Chelsea against Abyss who is putting up the ring. This segment was very anti-climactic. This should not have been the ending of the show when we have just seen Jeff Hardy jump 10 feet through a table. How did that not end the show? Anyways, a video package for Sacrifice takes us off the air. That's it for tonight. Sacrifice is Sunday. I'm back next Thursday for Impact. See you then...unless Impact gets cancelled. blog comments powered by Disqus
