I mean this one just backfired in a huge way. You knew it had to happen. Vince fakes his own death and it gets treated like a real one. Then four people actually end up dying (Sherri Martel & the Benoits). It would be funny if it weren’t tragic.."
"I think the worst storyline was Vince McMahon faking his own death in the limousine explosion, especially since the episode that featured the tribute to Benoit was originally supposed to be a tribute to the life of McMahon after his storyline death. The fake death was supposed to be a controversial angle that would garner mainstream media attention much like the attitude era of the mid to late '90's. It did garner some mainstream media attention but only because it happened so soon before the real life Benoit tragedy. "
"When I watched it happen I didn't like it. Maybe if it wasn't ended early, it would've been a little bit better."
