Reader Comments:

" I mean this one just backfired in a huge way.  You knew it had to happen.  Vince fakes his own death and it gets treated like a real one.  Then four people actually end up dying (Sherri Martel & the Benoits).  It would be funny if it weren’t tragic.."
- Justin Ballard

"I think the worst storyline was Vince McMahon faking his own death in the limousine explosion, especially since the episode that featured the tribute to Benoit was originally supposed to be a tribute to the life of McMahon after his storyline death. The fake death was supposed to be a controversial angle that would garner mainstream media attention much like the attitude era of the mid to late '90's. It did garner some mainstream media attention but only because it happened so soon before the real life Benoit tragedy. "
- Ken Langston

"When I watched it happen I didn't like it. Maybe if it wasn't ended early, it would've been a little bit better."
- J.T.

Staff Comments:

" Mister McMahon faking his death in the exploding limo. This one was tasteless to begin with, but the timing was nothing short of macabre."
- Mallory Mahling

" Horrible, just horrible."

- Matt Dawgs

"Considering that wrestling has had about a billion deaths in ten years, I'd say that it's pretty ballsy to book a story about a fake one.  Talk about messing with fate.  It's as if God was just waiting to get revenge on McMahon for that stupid tag match with Shawn Michaels last year.  The big Hulkamaniac in the sky got the last laugh this time around."
- Crazy Uncle Ralph
