I'm going to be honest. TNA barely
scratched the surface in terms of votes this year for our 2008
awards. Sadly, there's one category they ran away with. It
had our most diverse list of votes ever, but this is one award most companies
might want to shy away from. He is Super. He is
Crazy. He is...not Super Crazy. At least that guy had a
cool ride-along lawn mower...
2008's Worst Gimmick is...

It's bad enough that Eric Young is
supposed to be retarded, but then, you make him a retarded SUPERHERO named, get
this... "Super Eric". The retarded wrestler turned retarded
superhero is so retarded that he doesn't even think to hide his identity by
making up a better super name than "Super Eric". And then,
even though everyone knows that Eric Young is Super Eric, he denies it, even
though only Eric Young would be retarded enough to think they weren't the same
person. And the reason Eric even came up with this retarded superlame
idea is because Eric thought Rellik and Black Reign were monsters, and
Kaz told him they were only pretending, so Eric could pretend to be a superhero
so he could be brave enough to fight the monsters. So you're telling
me Eric Young is a 3 year-old? Jesus Christ! This guy isn't
retarded. Calling Eric Young a retard is an insult to retarded people.
Eric Young is just plain f***ing dumb, and so is his stupid-ass lamer alther
ego.

Eric Young sucks
normally. I don't think he's all that special in the ring. He's a
perfectly decent worker, but nothing that makes him standout for me, other than
his big spot of hitting 2 guys with a Death Valley Driver at the same
time. And his charcater just blows and the joke has LONG LONG LONG
LONG since stopped being in any way funny, which wasn't much anyway.
Super Eric and how that gimmick came about just makes him worse. And
then, somehow, it got even dumber when they hooked him up with the intermible
Curry Man and the Stone Cold rip-off Shark Boy, as the "Prince Justice
Brotherhood", which, like moot things in Russo's TNA, is so named as an
in-joke about one of Abyss's former ring
names."

"I'm all for comedy gimmicks. When used at the bottom of
the card and sparingly, it helps break up the monotony of a two-hour wrestling
show (see Funaki, Kung or Yang, Jimmy Wang). But when they're in a prominent
role week after week and even end up main eventing a PPV? So not cool. Also...
Eric's gimmick of being a poor man's Eugene doesn't scream "money" to
me in the best of times, neither does the poor man's Hurricane bit. And now
they want us to take him seriously? How can we? TNA has spent the better part
of four years telling us he was a buffoon! I'm with ZAH: F*ck Eric
Young!"
