Two years in a row, the fans and staff have chosen the same babyface of the year - Jeff Hardy. This year, they didn't. Which one stayed and which one strayed? Take a look...-
2009 Reader's Choice for Babyface of The Year is...
Jeff Hardy
2nd Place:
Christian
3rd Place:
John Morrison
Reader Comments:
"Honestly, there were no breakthrough Babyfaces to deserve an award. Nobody really shone through in either WWE or TNA as a "good guy" through charisma, in-ring tactics, mic time or personality. The only reason I chose Jeff Hardy is because of the reaction he got with the crowd. I've never really seen what the deal is with Hardy other than being a spot monkey but I guess people like seeing the antics of Curious Jeff... I still say nobody should get this award.

Close call between him and Rey Mysterio but Jeff really went out on a najor high. No burying- just one of the best feuds seen in a long time and constant great performances."

"In my opinion this year was defined by CM Punk and Jeff Hardy. Punk became the baddest bad guy and the only way to do it was to target Jeff. He's the goodest good guy. If his legal troubles continue, it'll be the police that fans see as heels. That's how much people love this guy.

2009 Staff Choice for Babyface of The Year is...
John Cena
2nd Place:
Jeff Hardy
3rd Place:
Kofi Kingston

"
John Cena, by default due to lack of competition. If Jeff Hardy had stayed around then I bet he would have been my choice. DX and Undertaker would be tied for second place in my mind."

"Yes, not everyone likes him but he does what a top babyface is supposed to do-sell tickets and sell lots of merchandise. Cena hasn't shown any growth in 2009 but he's got all the fundamentals down pat. If WWE wrote his lines a little edgier, he'd probably be super over but that's not his fault. He plays his role well and continues bringing in the $$$."

"There weren't a lot of legitimate contenders to this crown, and Cena is solid as they come playing the "good guy" character. Plus, he's finally at the point now where there are definitely more cheers than boos. And no matter what, his match is sure to get a decent reaction from the crowd. While I'm begging for them to turn Cena heel in 2010, I have to admit that he's pretty damn good in his current role."
