Insanity Readers and Staff Choose: 2006's Worst Gimmick

When it came to 2006's Worst Gimmick, the staff and readers had different ideas. There were two different winners, but tons of runners-up. Special mentions should go out to Viscera, Fake Kane, HBK's God partner, The Boogeyman, The Miz, ECW, and the new DX. That's just to name a few. Phew. What a year. Yup, there was plenty of Insanity to go around. Now let's get to the votes:
2006 Reader's Choice for Worst Gimmick... Big Dick Johnson
2nd Place: Paul Burchill 3rd Place: (Tie) The Spirit Squad/Mama Benjamin Reader Comments: "It was pretty funny watching him dance around the first couple of times we saw him, but then it became sicking just to see him on TV. And who the hell gave him the name Big Dick????" - Clifton Robinson "I know he's not a wrestler, but Dick Johnson is a walking Moment of Insanity." - Brian Friedman "I had friends over when Big Dick Johnson came out on Raw. I hope they're still my friends, at least." - Janice Jansen But wait, now it's time for.... 2006 Insanity Staff's Choice for Worst Gimmick... The Voodoo Kin Mafia
2nd Place: The Spirit Squad
3rd Place: (Three Way Tie) Kelly Kelly, Cryme Tyme, Rey Mysterio's Armbands "VKM parodies themselves in their attempt to make fun of Degeneration X. They mimic DX instead of making fun of them and look bad doing so. In addition, their feud with DX has no pay-off forthcoming making all their screen-time a waste of time."
