"CM Punk cashes in his Money in the Bank title shot and becomes WWE World Heavyweight Champion for longer than one day: Some people may have seen it coming, but I define shocking as causing me to jump up from the couch and scream and call my friends on the phone to tell them about it. This was that moment. I did not expect it at all, and was blown away that it actually happened. Him winning the title was one thing, but keeping it for as long as he did, regardless of the circumstances of his matches and victories, was another."

Here you had two World Champions on SmackDown, and none of Raw, and in the course of 20 minutes, the entire landscape of Raw changed significantly. I just kept thinking they wouldn’t pull the trigger when Punk came down the aisle after Batista’s slaughter of Edge on that June night. One GTS, and three seconds later, CM Punk had become WWE’s World champion. As someone who’s followed Punk’s career for so many years, this is a moment right there with Bret Hart’s, Eddie Guerrero’s, and even Chris Benoit’s culmination of becoming a World champion in a company where you’d never think they’d have a chance of winning such a prestigious honor.
