Not even close. Not even a little. Total blow-away by both staff and readers. That's right. Everyone agrees. 2006's Tag Team of the Year is...
L.A.X. (The Latin American Exchange)
Readers 2nd Place: Brian Kendrick and Paul London 3rd Place: A.J. Styles and Chistopher Daniels
Staff 2nd Place: MNM 3rd Place: The Kings of Wrestling
Reader Comments:
"Homicide, Hernandez and Konnan have one of the hottest gimmicks in wrestling right now, and have been a dominant force in TNA. They've been featured in some great matches against Styles & Daniels, and come out of their feud with America's Most Wanted looking strong. I expect more excellent work from LAX in 2007." - Juatin Ballard
"L.A.X. took TNA by storm. No other team can touch them this year. ." - Trace Armstrong
"Everything about LAX is great, they look like a team, they feel like a team and they fight like a team. They revived the tag team division for TNA. Always fun to watch." - Antoine Quintal-Léonard
Staff Comments:
"Ok, I admit, I am partially biased because Homicide is my favorite wrestler and I know him. But no team has received this much heat, both positive and negative in years. The crowd always gives them a reaction when they come out to the ring and they have managed to put on several very good matches this year. Both men complement each other in the ring with Homicide being the work horse and Hernandez being the powerhouse. Plus, both men are very capable brawlers when it comes to a match breaking down in the ring. Finally, with Konnan on the mic, he is doing rare work which he hasn't done in years by delivering his message across with such forcefulness. He is in a rare form and seems more motivated in his promos then he has been since his ECW days." - Matt Dawgs
"L.A.X. ruled the roost this year. Sure, there's like five teams to choose from, but I think that Konnan, Hernandez, and Homicide would have won it any other year too, given their performances over the last year. Everything about them screams potential. I can only imagine how far they'll go in 2007." - James Guttman
