The Jamie Kennedy Experiment: Kurt Angle, Jeff Jarrett, Jeff Hardy, and More

Hello everybody and welcome to this week's edition of “The Jamie Kennedy Experiment”. Over the past few months this column has looked into a lot of different happenings and performers in the professional wrestling world. I ve recorded my thoughts on everything from ECW to Shawn Michaels. This weeks article will focus on not just one subject, but a variety of them! Darting around in this hunk of juicy flesh and blood I call a brain I will simply give my opinions on a number of different subjects which have happened in the wrestling business. Grab hold of something and make yourself as comfortable as possible as it s likely to be a bumpy ride!

Jeff Jarrett is playing hide the salami with Karen Angle? This is a news story which seemed to come out of nowhere and I have to say, I was shocked at first when I read about the above event. I have no idea whatsoever if any of this has actually been confirmed as being true but it seems ol Double J is firing into Kurt Angles ex wife. This has led to a lot of speculation that Dixie Carter has decided Jeff should no longer be involved with TNA wrestling and has decided to buy out his portion of the company. Of course, a lot of people have jumped the gun and are now thinking Kurt Angle will take a step up and become part of the business side of the promotion. To this I say - not so fast! If I remember correctly “The Only Olympic Gold Medallist in Professional Wrestling History” has a contract renewal for TNA coming up and I d be willing to bet that Vince McMahon and WWE would love to secure his services for the closing period of his career. Wouldn t that be something else? If TNA put faith in Angle from a business perspective, only for him to jump ship and be a part of the E again?

Personally I d love to see Kurt Angle in World Wrestling Entertainment again. He d obviously have to procure a part-time contract, allowing him to not spend so much time on the road (we all know that his body would struggle to cope with that, even if he appears to be Superman in a singlet). This would have the added advantage of allowing his matches and feuds to be even better, thus giving us as fans more entertainment and thus making the WWE a hell of a lot more money. The man also has a lot to come back to in the company where he made a name for himself in the pro wrestling field. There are so many fresh match-ups and angles (no pun intended) which could be fashioned with men such as Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, CM Punk etc. And from a sheer mark standpoint, I d pay to see him square off against Triple H one more time on Pay-Per-View.

So what of Jeff Jarrett? If he is taken out of the picture in regards to TNA, where does he go now in wrestling? Start up a new company? Come begging to Vince? I m not really interested in his personal motivations for going after Karen Angle, she is a single woman and hot as hell after all. I m more curious about what happens with his career now.

Jeff Hardy wants some time off from the road?  This has both angered and disappointed a lot of people. There are a lot of fans out there who have been loyal Charismatic Enigma fans for years and have patiently waited for the days when their favorite is on top of the grappling universe. Now he has the ball , Hardy has supposedly decided to prolong his reign on top by…taking some time off. This writer has no problem whatsoever with this, the guy is entitled to do whatever he wants to do. It is his life after all. It is quite confusing that he would pick this particular point in time to make that call however, seeing as he is getting the biggest reactions of his career and seemingly has a place in the main event (or therein thereabouts) for good.

My take on this is to just be happy the WWE elevated somebody to the same star status as a Triple H or a John Cena in the past few years. The audience now take Jeff seriously as a main-event caliber performer and in my opinion, the fact there are thousands of people who don t want Hardy to go anywhere shows just how much people enjoy watching him on TV and at live events.

I really have a feeling that even if Jeff does decide to take some time off, it won’t be the last we see of him! Several million young women would hunt him down anyway.

That is all for this week but I’ll be back next time for more of my mat mumblings! Don’t forget to check out the WWE Superstars report!
