Hello to all of you very fine and upstanding citizens of this world we call WWI and welcome to this weeks edition of the Jamie Kennedy Experiment. First off, if any of you get the little quirky joke contained in the title then let me personally be the very first to e-hug you right here and right now. It's just the way my sometimes entertaining, sometimes irritating brain works (I find it entertaining, you all find it irritating!).

Mat Mumblings”, as we all know by now, is where I just take a look at some different things going on within the world of professional wrestling and give my take on the events. This doesn't just stretch to rumours or even what happened on last weeks WWE Monday Night RAW show, it can involve anything which your writer has much to say about. No limits if you will. So long as it can be tied back to being about wrestling then it counts! So bust out that swimming costume, approach my jacuzzi of wrasslin' rumours, dip your sexy toes in and let's see where we come out at the other end!

John Cena is honoured with an award by the Make-A-Wish Foundation

The following comes straight from WWE.com and explains a little about this...

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of America announced John Cena as one of five recipients of its 20th annual Chris Greicius Celebrity Awards. The honorees were selected for their exceptional dedication to the Foundation s mission by helping grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

One of the most popular celebrity wish requests among wish kids, Cena has granted 147 wishes since 2004. In addition to regularly granting wishes at WWE events such as RAW and Wrestlemania, he has also helped fulfill modeling and film wishes through his projects outside the ring. Cena serves as a Wish Ambassador for the Foundation supporting its goal to expand wish-granting efforts to more eligible children.”

Personally, whether you love or hate the character Mr. Cena portrays within the confines of the “WWE Universe”, the fact he has taken so much time out to put smiles on the faces of terminally ill kids is really heart warming. I actually spotted this on this past weeks edition of RAW and the girl who was fighting to hold back the tears as she recalled meeting Cena really touched a nerve with me. Yes he is just a pro wrestler and popular culture celebrity but if he can even help give some pleasure to those who really have been through so much then it's fantastic. I myself have done some work with those who don't really have much time left in life and the spirit of these people never ceases to amaze me.

Being one of the top stars in WWE, John Cena must be one heck of a busy guy as he juggles personal appearances, interviews, photoshoots and more with his already hectic schedule of performing on television for World Wrestling Entertainment. The fact he is willing to give up his limited spare time to spread a little joy is great, regardless of whether or not cynics would proclaim it 'simply a PR stunt by the company' or not.

I for one would like to congratulate John Cena on using his celebrity in a positive manner and actually attempting to make people feel good. Of course he gets something out of it in terms of public image but his efforts are clearly having a genuine effect on the children he spends time with. As a lifelong fan, it makes me feel good to think that professional wrestling and professional wrestler's can make terminally ill kids smile and pose for photographs as though they don't have a care in the world, even just for an hour or two.

Umaga cancels shoot interview and may yet be headed back to WWE..

If there is even any truth to this whatsoever, I'd be one very happy fan. We all know the story, Eddie Fatu failed the WWE Drug Wellness Policy for a second time and upon refusing to enter rehabilitation, was released from his contract in early June.

This really could not have happened at a worse time for the Samoan native who resides out of Spring, Texas. His career was beginning to take an upward swing and he was even rumoured to be about to kick start a feud with the super-over Undertaker on the Smackdown brand. With Vince McMahon and company more desperate than ever to start building new main event stars, Fatu was certainly in with a chance his Umaga character proving a hit as a monster heel and also latterly garnering a few cheers from WWE audiences for his consistently hard-hitting performances inside the ring.

There really seemed to be an element of arrogance or just plain “I don't care!” attitude about the man's latest release from the biggest wrestling company in the western hemisphere. Obviously I do not know the whole story and there may well be much more to it other than the guy simply refusing rehab treatment. However, this is not the first time the master of the “Samoan Spike” has fell foul of the WWE office. His last release also came in June, this time of the year 2003 after the big man was apparently involved in a bar brawl.

Aside from spending a short time in Total NonStop Action wrestling and also in Japan, it's clear to see that a large majority of Fatu's success has come in a WWE ring. He is taken seriously as a threat to many on the roster in the eyes of the fanbase and his savage 'wildman' gimmick is one which seems to really still appeal to fans today.

If Umaga was to make his return to WWE, he would have a lot to be getting on with. Potential feuds for the Intercontinental Title belt or with men such as Undertaker, Batista etc (assuming he makes his comeback on the blue brand) would be good starting points. I for one would welcome the dude back with open arms.

That's all for this week but join me next time out when I take an extended look at the rumours of Bret “Hitman” Hart and his return to the big time. Also feel free to email me with any of your thoughts, questions, quips or opinions. jamiekennedy@live.com TAKE IT HOME!
