Mallory Has Second Thoughts About This Week's Raw

I honestly wasn't expecting much from Raw Monday night. It seems like Raw has become increasingly more violent. Well, it's not ballet, you may be saying to yourself. What does she expect?

Simply put, I expect to be entertained, and I don't find watching people beaten senseless to be entertaining.

But to my great surprise, Monday night's show was very entertaining.

Instead of yet another Hornswoggle beat down, the storyline finally got some direction. McMahon's Little Bastard Son was a stupid storyline to begin with, and grew stupider and more disturbing by the week. We may never know the reason Mister McMahon was so insistent on giving Hornswoggle tough love. And maybe we don't want to know.

Another thing I noticed Monday night was an added dimension to JBL, and I liked it. It was JBL who had it on good authority that Hornswoggle was not McMahon's son and heir, and JBL who had determined that the scam went to the very top of McMahon's family.

Who knows...maybe JBL is working a scam of his own, but who cares.  This has gone from being a storyline that I dreaded to being one that I'm looking forward to seeing more of.

I was delighted to see that Ric Flair will be facing Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania. I was so afraid that Hulk Hogan would manage to insinuate himself into the match and do what he does best--hog the spotlight and make it all about himself.

This will be Flair's big moment and one that he has earned with his blood, sweat and tears.  For that reason alone he should be able to savor it without becoming a supporting character in the scenario.

A match with Michaels--someone who so obviously respects Flair--will ensure that it will be unforgettable for all concerned.

Well, everything wasn't entertaining. I fail to see what the Big Deal is about Big Show and Floyd Mayweather. But then what would WrestleMania be without something that would generate main stream buzz and maybe a few extra PPV buys?

Thanks for reading and see ya next week.
