Mallory Looks at The Rock, Guest Hosts, Vicki the Cougar, and Chuck Liddell's Samba from Zombie Town

Wrestling is not a warm and fuzzy kind of sport. If you want warm fuzzies, watch the "Bachelorette" or something equally sappy. But SmackDown's 10th anniversary show did give me a warm fuzzy or two, one of which was the sentimental video of the late Eddy Guerrero. The other was The Rock cutting a phenomenal promo. I could swear I heard him saying that he might like to be a guest host on Raw. I hope one of the Powers That Be heard him. That would be the best thing to happen to Raw since The Rock left. Well, that's an exaggeration, but you know what I mean. The Rock is magic no matter what he does.

But while The Rock would be a one-time-only guest host, I noticed that former Raw GM, Vicki Guerrero, was back last Friday, too. She'd brought along her hot new boy toy, Eric Escobar. If my guess is right, this appeared to be the start of a Cougar-Cub relationship. It would be even better if Vicki was in a position of power (such as General Manager of Raw - hint, hint), which would benefit Eric and make him hated by his co-workers. There are so many exciting directions this could take. And Cougars are a hot topic this season, Linda Hogan notwithstanding.

The bottom line, however, is that Raw's series of random guest hosts lost its appeal months ago. Raw would be much better off with someone in charge -- a real authority figure, not just someone who will be gone as soon as the show is over. Such as next week's co-guest hosts, Nancy O'Dell and Maria Menounos .  As The Rock might ask, What in the Blue Hell do they have to do with wrestling? Oh that's right, a mention on their Celebrity Access show. (Talk about opportunistic!)

Of course, there was a 10th anniversary cake strategically placed backstage at SmackDown. A huge cake. It was just a matter of time til the cake met the fate of every other WWE celebratory cake. Someone got pushed into it. (Come to think of it, that would be a good Challenge category for the Food Network -- Smashable Cakes.)

Chuck Liddell is hanging in there on ABC TV's "Dancing With the Stars."  Monday night he and his partner Anna performed a samba deemed by one of the judges to be a Samba from Zombie Town.  Okay, so he's a little stiff on some of the steps, but calling his dancing Zombie-like was a little harsh.  And he is smiling more during his dance routines now and seems to be having a good time.  In any case, Chuck and Anna survived the voting and lived to dance another day.

Go, Chuck!
