Mallory Looks at Wrestling's Odd Couples: Vickie & Edge and the Glamazon & Santino

Like most women, I love a good soap opera wedding. So even though I seldom watch SmackDown, I tuned in last Friday for the Romance of the Century--the wedding of Vickie and Edge.

While these nuptials were not on the legendary scale of "General Hospital's" Luke and Laura (the measuring stick for all soap weddings), Edge and Vickie's wedding was lovely nonetheless.

Although the wedding itself was handled tastefully, that didn't keep Vickie from turning into a shrill Bridezilla as she tended to her general managerial duties. Not an attractive quality for a bride.

But then a philandering groom is not attractive, either. And wouldn't you know that a WWE camera would be right there to capture every sleazy detail of Edge's--shall we say--dalliance.  It was bad enough that Edge was playing kissy-face with the wedding planner, but to make fun of his new bride's sizeable granny panties was just plain mean.

Maybe they should have just taken the night off.

Anyway, I'd be willing to bet that Mr. and Mrs. Edge will be seeking the legal services of Clarence Mason very soon.

And doesn't Vickie watch Raw? If she did, she'd know what a low down dawg Edge has been in the past. 'Nuf said.

Pro wrestling weddings are usually doomed and always pretty outrageous. Torrie Wilson's dad croaking on the honeymoon comes to mind. So does Triple H and the McMissus at the drive-thru chapel in Vegas.

Looking into Miss Mallory's Crystal Ball, I can see one more candidate for a wrestling wedding. When the Glamazon beat up Santino on Raw last week, they seemed like a pretty unlikely couple. Fast forward one week, and they'd been bitten by the love bug. They may be the oddest of couples, but there was something so sweet about their first kiss, that I can't wait to see this storyline play out.
