Mallory's Thoughts on Dusty Rhodes, Mickey Rourke, Maury Povich, Sherry Shepard, and Gimmick Infringement

I was plagued with cable TV woes on Monday night and had to miss Raw. And wouldn't ya know it would be one featuring one of my all-time favorites as Guest Host. Nope, no cartoon characters or social climbing movie stars this week. It was the 'Merican Dream himself, Dusty Rhodes.

Darn.

As one who has always loved Big Dust's delightfully twangy accent, I think he would make an outstanding Raw general manager.  Who better than the American Dream to restore order to the frequently unruly Raw?

A new season of James Lipton's "Inside the Actors Studio" debuted on BRAVO this week with Mickey Rourke as his guest.

Rourke made a few startling admissions during the interview. Such as, his favorite word is "f*ck." Big surprise there.

But the most surprising admission of all was that Rourke has still not seen "The Wrestler."

It was an excellent and insightful interview, and if you have access to BRAVO, I would recommend it. Check local listings for time and channel.

If you're a regular fan of the Maury Povich Show, you probably know by now that it has packed up its tales of Baby Daddies and Baby Mamas and moved to studios in Stamford, Connecticut. Yes, THAT Stamford.

Could the proximity to WWE's headquarters have prompted the move? Of course that is only speculation, but WWE and Maury seem to thrive on similar storylines -- anger management issues (Randy Orton), flashy ladies, wild animals (Mike Knox), and tranny divas (Santina), to name a few.

They also share something else.

Staleness.

Will Stamford make a difference for the Maury Show? Time will tell.

Would a change make a difference for WWE?

Gimme a big Stone Cold Hell yeah!!!

For a company that is so pissy about infringement on its intellectual property, it amazes me that WWE has two new tee shirts that closely infringe upon the IP of others.

For instance, what is the first thing you think of when you see Santino's red tee shirt with it crest-like logo? Chances are your answer is Ferrari.

And doesn't John Cena's new tee shirt look from a distance like the iconic John Deere emblem?

Just an observation.

WWE has done a lot for "The View's" Sherri Shepard by putting her in front of an audience which was unlikely to tune in to the daytime talk show she shares with Barbara Walters and crew. (Personally, I'd rather have a root canal than watch "The View.")

Now the highly recognizable Sherri has gone from MVP's prom date to magazine cover girl. Seems Miss Sherri lost of ton of weight, which led to an appearance on the cover of one of those supermarket tabloids. In a swim suit, of all things. However, nothing seems to be sacred on "The View," so before donning said swim suit, Sherri got a herself a Brazilian wax. On TV, apparently. Way too much information comes along with an explanation of Brazilian wax.

Like I said, nothing is sacred when it comes to outrageous publicity and subject matter better left in the bathroom.

But, hey, guess who has a new series on Lifetime this fall? Yep, the swimsuit model herself.

Do you suppose MVP will get a reciprocal guest shot on Sherri's show?

Thanks for reading and see ya next week.
