It was nice to see Trish Stratus on Raw Monday night. It seemed like old times, except this time she was running the show as the Guest Host and doing an excellent job.
But this Guest Host business is getting old. More often than not the Guest Hosts have nothing to do with wrestling and more to do with plugging a movie. For example, next week's Guest Host will be Cedric the Entertainer, and what are the odds that he's got a movie about to come out?

Batista pulled a fast one on Randy Orton Monday night. After making the stunning announcement of his retirement, Batista waited til Orton got within arm's reach before demonstrating that his injury at the hands of Orton had healed and Batista was coming out of his 10-second retirement to lay the smack down on him.
Unfortunately for Raw fans, Batista is headed to the Smackdown brand. I wish he'd take Orton with him and let Smackdown's viewers enjoy Orton's "smiling face" on Friday nights for a change.

The new season of UFC's "The Ultimate Fighter" will debut tonight (September 16) on Spike TV. Admittedly, I had lost interest in the show in recent seasons, but this season is likely to be must-see TV. Among the hopefuls this time is Kimbo Slice of Internet fighting fame. Mr. Slice was seemingly indestructible until last year when he was fighting for Elite XC on network TV. When his designated opponent had to bail out of the match at the last minute, Seth Petruzelli, a TUF graduate, was recruited to get his behind handed to him. Or at that was the way it was supposed to be since Kimbo Slice didn't lose. Ever. After all, he was the baddest man on the planet.
But then the unthinkable happened. Seth got lucky and knocked Kimbo out in 14 seconds. Whoops. It seemed like a dream come true for the fighter who hadn't exactly set the world on fire in UFC. Unfortunately, Seth turned back into a nobody the next day when he made some imprudent comments to the press.
Anyway, Dana White has a winner of a plot line with Slice. Does he wanna be a f''n fighter? Whether or not Kimbo succeeds or fails, Dana will have put butts in seats across America as MMA fans watch to see if Kimbo was a fluke or the real deal.
Before all is said and done with this season of TUF, I'd love to see a rematch of Slice vs. Petruzelli.
"The Ultimate Fighter" airs Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m. (ET) on Spike TV.
