Mallory with News on the Ric Flair Domestic "Beat Down"; and K-Fed, Nicole Eggert, Bobby Brown
K-Fed is not so K-Fat anymore. Of the eight celebrities who are dieting their way through this season of VH-1's "Celebrity Fit Club," Kevin Federline is among the "stars" as far as weight loss goes. Another 50 pounds, and he'd look pretty good back in the wrestling ring. Other championship losers three weeks into the season are Jay McCarroll of "Project Runway," actress Shar Jackson, and musician Sebastian Bach. This show should not to be confused with "The Biggest Loser," where everyone is so gung ho about losing weight that they can lose hundreds of pounds in a few months. In fact, on CFC, not everyone could even be considered fat. I would imagine the decision to be "fat" has more to do with a pay day and now-elusive TV time. Even so, a certain lack of commitment on the part of several of the "dieters" seems evident. For instance, Nicole Eggert, formerly of "Bay Watch," doesn't seem aware of the cameras pointed at the contestants during Boot Camp. When asked at the weigh-in if she'd stuck to the diet that week, she emphatically stated that she had. When her nose started growing like Pinocchio's, she admitted that she may have had a teeny tiny taco. When a clip of Nicole chowing down on tacos, nachos and adult beverages was shown, she got all pissy. She got caught with her mouth full - serves her right. Bobby Brown appears to have issues with things other than weight, but Drill Sergeant Harvey seems sold on his excuses, which, in turn, cheered Bobby up. So far Bobby has lost a whopping two pounds. Next week, K-Fed's significant other makes an appearance. Nope, it's not Brittany, but she is blonde. * * * Whooooo!!! Fox News had some fun with the newlywed Mr. and Mrs. Ric Flair's legal woes on Megyn Kelly's afternoon news show on February 23. It seems Mrs. Flair had beaten up the Nature Boy, her hubby of three months, after the two had been out drinking. Kelly and her female panelist, Mercedes Colwyn, immediately took the side of poor, petite Mrs. Flair, standing up for herself against her big brute of a husband. It should be noted that not much factual information was presented, just their "take" on the story. Kelly said Mrs. Flair had "gone WrestleMania" on the "huge guy" and he'd called the police, whereupon Mrs. Flair was escorted to jail. Slick Ric now wants to drop the charges. They made Flair sound like a bleach blonde Andre the Giant. Kelly and Colwyn were so busy being "witty" that they didn't pay attention to the third panelist, a male lawyer whose name I didn't catch. He was familiar with the sport of pro wrestling and tried his best to make himself heard over their cackling. He also pointed out that had Mr. Flair tried to defend himself, he'd be in a heap more trouble than his wife is in. Bottom line, the segment was NOT fair, balanced and unfraid, a tag line Fox News is so fond of spouting. In fact, it was a pretty poor segment. Updates will follow. Or not. * * * Thanks for reading and see ya next week. blog comments powered by Disqus
