RDLee's NXT Report - Daniel Bryan & The Miz v.s. R-Truth & David Otunga - Can These Two Teams Co-Exsist?

By RDLee Mar 9, 2010 - 9:31 PM

Welcome to tonight's NXT recap.

-

Matt Striker spoke backstage who ran down the rules of the elimination process again where the Pro cannot vote for or against their own Rookie.

-

R-Truth and David Otunga v.s. The Miz and Daniel Bryan

The Miz got on the mic before the match to speak to his rookie Daniel Bryan. He told him he is 0-2 in NXT and hasn't proved himself yet in the WWE. He told him that he would be removed from NXT if he was the weak link and was pinned in the match.

The crowd cheered for Bryan at the start of the match. Truth and Otunga double teamed Bryan and The Miz which means they must have patched up their troubles from last week.

During the commercial break The Miz regained control of the match by dropping R-Truth off the top rope. Bryan and Miz tagged in and out and argued each time they were face to face. Otunga nearly pinned the Miz but Daniel saved him and was tagged in to bring the pain to Otunga by nearly submitting him with his leg lock.

The Miz tagged himself in when Bryan almost won, they argued while Truth snuck in and hit Miz with the Lie Detector and then Otunga finished off Miz with his spinebuster for the win for his team. Bryan shook his head in disappointment because The Miz was the weak link. The Miz got back in his face and demanded he walked away. Daniel faked slapping the Miz which got a big pop.

Winners: David Otunga and R-Truth

Last week Heath Slater (aka Juilianne Moore) had apple spit in his face by Carlito, Slater talked about how mad he was about what happened. Slater said Carlito better watch out because tonight he was going to blow his mind.

Backstage The Miz was talked to by Matt Striker. He asked him why he let Daniel Bryan down. Miz was approached by Bryan at this moment who claimed that Miz was carried by all his tag team partners in the past. And asked him if he was so talented than why did he lose tonight.

Next we saw a video introduction for Justin Gabriel who resembles a green AJ Styles in the ring to me both in style and ability. Matt Hardy gave him a pep talk backstage about how well he did last week against Regal. Jericho came in with Wade Barrett and talked about how Justin better be at the top of his game tonight against Wade Barrett who talked about how he beat down Daniel Bryan in only 3 minutes. Hardy told Jericho that his guy will beat his guy tonight.

-

Heath Slater (W/Christian) v.s. Carlito (W/Micheal Tarver)

Carlito talked on the mic on the way to the ring. He told Heath that he should be begging him to spit the apple in the face because of all the superstars he did it to in the past.

Carlito tried to spit the apple in his face again before the match began but Slater dodged it and began his assault. I do not like Slater, there is something about him that doesn't click. I am willing to give him some more time and I am not knocking his talent at all, just don't like the character so far.

The funny thing is that Michael Tarver is desperately trying to get himself over without his Pro, who isn't exactly helping him at all so far. Tarver has his own T-Shirt and was yelling to the crowd throughout the match. I like his "1.9 Seconds" gimmick where he says he can knock out any man in only 1.9 seconds.

The One Man Rock Band, Heath Slater picked up the win after Christian destracted Carlito by tossing his apple to Tarver on the outside which caused Heath Slater to reverse a roll up on Carlito for the 3 count.

Winner: Heath Slater

-

Backstage Darren Young told Punk that he respected him but can't he can't live his lifestyle and not join Straight Edge. He told Young that he could accept Straight Edge and experience winning ways if he made the commitment. Also...Darren Young is the black John Cena... there, I said it.

-

Wade Barrett (W/Chris Jericho) v.s. Justin Gabriel (W/Matt Hardy)

Last week Gabriel impressed the WWE Universe with his 450 splash finisher and pin on William Regal. Barrett was impressive last week with his quick win over fan favorite Daniel Bryan.

Gabriel picked up the clean win with his 450 Splash. After the match Matt Hardy came in the ring to celebrate with Justin and Chris Jericho snuck in from behind and attacked Hardy throwing him out of the ring. He also attacked Gabriel and locked him in the Walls of Jericho to end the show.

Winner: Justin Gabriel
