RDLee's NXT Report - Tonight We Meet NXT Rookies Justin Gabriel And Skip Sheffield

Welcome to the second edition of WWE's new show "NXT'. I am your host RDLee and I will be recapping tonights episode in case you missed it.

We begin tonight's show by saying "What's Up" with R-Truth and David Otunga coming to the ring. Matt Striker welcomed us to the show backstage and tells us that the Pros will be doing a elimination process by voting off Rookies other than their own.

-

David Otunga (w/R-Truth) v.s. Darren Young (w/Straight Edge Society)

The announcers claim that Young asked for the rematch and was just a little nervous last week which is why he thinks he lost so quick. They mentioned that Darren is curious about the benefits of CM Punk's straight edge lifestyle.

Young has lasted longer than last week already and was actually pressing the action for the first part of the match. Maybe it's just me but Darren Young looks like a brown John Cena. The crowd booed them a few times but that is expected to happen until they are given a reason to give a crap about these new guys.

Back from commercial we saw Young in control with a side sleeper hold. Darren did much better and mounted more offense this time and Punk seemed impressed by Young on the outside. Otunga wants it to be known that he is not cocky or arrogant but self confident. Otunga tossed Young out to the ring but when he went out to capatilize Luke Gallows intimidated Otunga who got back in the ring and ran the ropes only to be tripped by Punk in which Young took advantage and hit his spinning reverese Full Nelson slam for the suprise win.

After the match Otunga was mad and shoved R-Truth away from him.

Winner: Darren Young

Next we saw a video package on Daniel Bryan. He suprisingly mentioned that he was trained by Shawn Michaels which I didn't expect at all. He spoke of how he is a submission expert and how he wishes to headline Wrestlemania one day.

Michael Cole mentioned how he stands by his bashing of Bryan and until he is successful in the WWE he is not the best he thinks he is. He called the internet wrestling fans "Twitter Geeks" which I thought was funny.

Backstage the trainer checked Daniel's side which was bruised from his suicide dive. Miz came up to him and told him he would have a match next against Jericho's rookie Wade Barrett. Miz then slapped him on the bruise and walked away. Bryan looked pissed.

During the commercial break Matt Striker spoke to David Otunga about his loss. R-Truth came in and told Otunga he wouldn't come in to NXT and make his name off his and shoved him. They got into a roll around brawl.

-

Wade Barrett (w/Chris Jericho) v.s. Daniel Bryan

Jericho spoke about Barrett before his match. They had a video package for Wade. He spoke about how he was the biggest guy there and would throw the other guys around. He talked about how he wishes to be in the WWE to become rich. He said he had no interest in impressing the fans. Jericho joined the guys on commentary.

Daniel came out with his ribs taped up selling his injury from last week. Barrett worked on Bryan's ribs since they were obviously his weakness. The Miz did not come out with Daniel this time and was shown watching the match on a monitor in the back with Carlito. Bryan sold his injury by failing to hit his high flying offense. Wade finished him off with a Fireman's Carry Front Slam.

Jericho came in the ring after the match and began to beat on Daniel and put him in the Walls of Jericho again to cause further pain to his injured ribs. This was a disappointing outcome since it's obvious Bryan is one of the favorites to win.

Winner: Wade Barrett

Backstage we saw NXT Rookie Heath Slater bragging about his debut with WWE Pro Christian who told him to keep his confidence in check. He told him that he wasn't just his mentor he was his evaluator. I still laugh about what was said on the WWI message boards about how Slater looked resembled actress Julianne Moore.

Next we saw Justin Gabriel who was dressed up like a Dragonball Z character. Hr said he was thrilled to have Matt Hardy as his mentor and sensei. Matt said that Gabriel will thrill the WWE Universe with his high flying moves.

-

William Regal and Skip Sheffield v.s. Matt Hardy and Justin Gabriel

In case you didn't know, Justin Gabriel is the current FCW Champion so he has a good chance to go far. We saw a video package for Skip who calls himself the Cornfed Meathead. He said he is an enteratainer and a "Runner and Gunner and a Shaker and Baker" which earned a LOL from my Gears of War pal Tinys and Sammy out there. He says his catchphrase is "What is Do?"

Gabriel comes out looking like a moron in his Astronaught outfit. The two rookies started the match out to a chant of "Hardy, Hardy, Hardy". Justin kind of resembles a young AJ Styles with the way he moves in the ring. Fatt Hardy and Power Ranger Gabriel do a former Hardy Boys double team move on Skip as we hit a commercial break.

Back off break we seen William Regal grounding Gabriel with his holds. Funny to see how Matt Hardy gained weight and then switched back to his old attire. The tights made him look lame anyhow. Hardy tags in and Regal takes him to school for a few until tagging Skip in who hammers away on Hardy. Sheffield does a Jarrett shuffle into a diving splash which was silly.

Regal yells at Skip who looks upset. Matt hits a Twist of Fate on Bill and tagged in Justin who hits a nice 450 degree splash to pick up the win. I guess my AJ Styles comparison was not too out of the ball park although I may want to give it some more time before I start to believe what I am saying in full.

Winners: Matt Hardy and Justin Gabriel

-

Backstage after the match we had Matt Striker standing by with the rookies as Carlito came walking up chewing on an apple and teasing that he might spit on someone. He decided to spit on Heath Slater who was pissed off about it. This must be setting up for a match next week.

Thanks for joining me tonight for another edition of NXT. See you next week and Stay Classy!
