Hey guys, welcome to the NXT season finale report. Stay tuned to World Wrestling Insanity after the show because the big bossman himself (no, not THAT Big Bossman), James Guttman will be stopping by to show off his latest edition of JG's NXT Insanity featuring WWE's Memorial Day BBQ 2010!

My first thought is that I am gonna miss the NXT theme song, it's a great tune and nice entrance music in my opinion. We began tonight's show with Matt Striker who introduced the 5 rookies who were eliminated as they were sitting ringside looking sad. He then brought out the WWE Pro's Jericho, Miz, Hardy, R-Truth, William Regal, Christian, and CM Punk complete in his black mask. The NXT rookies came out next. The rookies will win a contract to the brand of his choosing and a title match against whoever they want at a future PPV.

Next week we begin Season 2 and we saw a video package of Husky Harris who is a family member of the famous Rotunda clan. Cody Rhodes is his Pro. It should be a good pairing. Husky looks unique to say the least. I will reserve my judgement until next week.

Backstage, we found out that John Morrison is a Pro for the new rookie Eli Cottonwood, who is 7'1 and over 300 pounds. He looks like a healthy Great Khali lite. Another good pairing based on the size and style difference between him and Morrison. I can't wait to see him next to the other new rookies next week.

Justin Gabriel v.s. David Otunga v.s. Wade Barrett - Triple Threat Match

I am still under the impression that Barrett will win tonight's show and challenge John Cena to a WWE title match at the PPV following Fatal Four Way. I agree with JG that Gabriel will be fine on his own due to his in ring talent, perhaps in a tag team? And David Otunga will be a star eventually regardless. The beginning of the match was a bit of a mess, alot of nerves probably contributed to the sloppyness. Justin Gabriel hit his 450 degree splash on David Otunga but Barrett dragged him out of the ring and stole the three count. This is elimination style so it's now down to Gabriel and Wade.

During the commercial break I saw a trailer for my latest addiction, UFC Undisputed 2010. Aaron Wood is ducking me on Xbox Live for a fight. lol. Back off the break we had Wade Barrett working on Gabriels mid section since he was still weak from hitting his painful 450 degree splash. Smart in ring work on display by this point. Justin fired up and hit several roundhouse kicks and springboard moves. Gabriel nearly won with a rollup out of Barrett's finisher attempt. Justin rebounded and attempted another 450 but Wade put his knees up to block the impact and then rolled Justin up to win the match.

Winner: Wade Barrett

The WWE Pro's gathered together on the stage to cast their votes for the new Pro's poll where another Rookie will be eliminated next. Backstage new pro, MVP introduced his new rookie, Percy Watson who is quite the character. He is like a Ernest The Cat Miller type character. He is known as the Lady's Man. Wow, unbelievable. Again, I will reserve my judgement until next week. He is likely to become the Skip Sheffield of next season at first glance.

Next we had new Pro Zack Ryder introduce his new rookie, Titus O'Neil who looked like actor Terry Crews. They said he was a former football player. Back in the ring Matt Striker asked the eliminated rookies who should win NXT. Michael Tarver said himself, Daniel Bryan said Wade Barrett, Skip Sheffield said he didn't care, Darren Young and Heath Slater said Barrett too. Next we had the new Pro's Poll which showed the following:

1. Wade Barrett

2. David Otunga

3. Justin Gabriel - who is now eliminated from NXT! He took the mic and said he was just a kid from South Africa who had a dream and he will keep coming back until he makes it in the company. He then made the insane claim that he will one day become a world champion. Matt Hardy told him that he saw inside him that he is very much like him. He said Justin may not have won NXT but he will not die. He finished by telling him that he still had a bright future.

Michelle McCool and Layla are the first ever WWE Pro's for the new rookie, KAVAL!!!!! That's right peeps, the former Low Ki is gonna be on NXT season 2! The winner has already been shown! I am excited! While it is an odd pairing and a little insulting to him, I still have faith it will end up being a strange but entertaining combo. Hell yeah!

Backstage we saw WWE Pro Mark Henry who introduced his rookie, Lucky Cannon who looks like a supermodel. He claims he has had a few close calls in life due to his past as a police officer. He has a great look and decent video package.

In the ring we had Wade Barrett and David Otunga perform a verbal face off. Otunga tore down Barrett's teeth and nose. He said he would only pay to see Barrett in a triple threat match with aquafresh and listerine. LOL! Barrett got his turn and he ran down his lack of in ring skills. He said the Great Khali moved around the ring better than him! BURN! I think the crowd liked Barrett more. The Pro's got together one more time and after the commercial we will have the final Pro's poll to determine who the winner of NXT is!

Kofi Kingston is a WWE Pro next week! His Rookie is the son of Mr. Perfect, Michael McGillicutty. WTF kind of name is that? Why not Joe Hennig? I am gonna have a nightmare of a time spelling his name in my future reports. Damn. But I am very glad to have him in the show, he should make it to the end.

The moment of truth is now. The WWE's NXT breakout star is... interupted by the Miz who said he would be back for Season 2 of the show. Michael Cole popped for him. He said he wouldn't be stuck with a loser like Daniel Bryan. He introduced his rookie, Alex Riley who is like a highschool football jock.

The Pro's Poll was revealed and the results were again interupted by the Pro's who began to argue about who won. Regal was the instigator here who went into a tirade on the babyfaces until Jericho put him himself in his place. It was a cluskerf%$# of an argument. I couldn't keep up with the bickering. We finally saw who won and it was....

2. David Otunga

1. Wade Barrett - who wins NXT, the crowd actually popped for it which is a good thing. I knew it. Congrats to Barrett. Otunga commented on the result and asked if Ashton was around and if he was being Punk'd. He then went on to say that he was eliminated from a reality show before and became a bigger star in the long run. The same for his finance' Jennifer Hudson who was eliminated from American Idol. Google him!

Barrett finished the night by saying that he would bring the WWE big bucks soon. He said it was the beginning of the Era of Wade Barrett and that the winds of change have blown in the WWE tonight and that it was only a matter of time until he was the WWE Heavyweight champion!

That's it for the first season of NXT, join me next week as we meet the new rookies for season two. Thanks for reading, have a good night and stay classy!
