WrestleMania Predictions From Your Favorite Heat Reporter
By Fritz Stephey
I figured, everybody's doing it...and I actually have some spare time this week, so why shouldn't I? That's right...Wrestlemania Predictions...from your favorite Heat reporter...Me. Which, by the way, yes, I am honored. Since I don't know exactly what matches are happening, I'm just gonna run through them, randomly. Let's cut the crap, and get down to business! Finlay vs. JBL in a Belfast Brawl Now, the hyping, the story around the match, I think is really stale, boring and overall uninteresting. The whole storyline of "Hornswoggling" McMahon just, a really bad blow-off. But, the match itself, will probably come off really good. Finlay and JBL can strait up kick ass...and, I imagine Finlay is going to be victorious in this. Also expect the lil' lepra-thing to show up. The MONEY IN THE BANK Ladder Match John Morrison vs. CM Punk vs. Carlito vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. MVP vs. Chris Jericho The MITB match has really taken my immediate interest in WrestleMania. I just plain love the match. This time around, it's a tad crazier, because of the whole Jeff Hardy issue. However, regardless, we're gonna get some good action out of this mega-match, as usual. Who's gonna come out victorious? That's a tough one...but I'm thoroughly convinced it will either be MVP or Kennedy...and really, personally, I am pulling for...MR. KENNEDY! Yeah, he may have dropped the ball last year, but, I think WWE has a lot of hope/trust in him, and I think they're gonna roll with him being a back-to-back MITB winner. Hopefully, for his sake and mine (I'm just a huge Kennedy mark...)...he doesn't hit back-to-back f***-ups. ...KENNEDY!!!!! (P.S. WWE, Change his theme back...his new one is just so...light and lame) Batsita vs. Umaga in a Brand Supremacy match I really hate the whole "Brand Supremacy" nonsense. I don't know why WWE keeps randomly treading that path, because it lost what little intrigue it had (to me at least) quick. I also hate it when you can look at a match and tell it was just thrown together to fill a spot on the card. Is this NOT WrestleMania? I should have interest in really every match, more-so than I would any other time. I don't care who comes out victorious, and I'm not pulling for either of them...but I say Umaga pulls out the win. 24-Man Battle Royal "Winner Faces the ECW Champion" Match I also don't like Battle Royals to determine #1 Contenders. Again, it comes off as a random "Eh, what the hell else are we gonna do" type of decision. With 24 people, I'm really throwing out genuine interest in a GOOD match, because I'm now watching an insane amount of Wrestlers in the ring, and it's gonna feel like nonsense. And, for this one match, your guess at winner is as good as mine. They don't even list (Not that I can find, at least) every participant. Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels in a "This Is Ric's Final Match" Match Honestly, this is the best way, in this day, to send Slic Ric off with a bang. I honestly don't expect it to be the best match ever, but it could come off as match of the night simply because of the significance...and Shawn Michael's can manage that, with this match. Now there's a lot of debate as ton whether Ric wins and retires on RAW...but honestly, I see him losing to HBK. Either way, the minute the match is over, kayfabe will be out the window. The two will probably be in tears, embrace in the ring...it will definitely be a "Feel Good" moment. I swear if you guys crack any jokes...forshame (Who am I to speak...were you in the Monday Night RAW thread on the Insanity Forums this past week? I dropped some horrible ones <Big Smirky Internet Smiley here>). Ashley and Maria vs. Beth Phoenix and Melina in a BunnyMania Lumberjack Match I'm thinking exactly what you're thinking...MARIA IS IN PLAYBOY!!!!! (Yeah, um...the match...obviously the people who posed nude before win). Big Show vs. Floyd "Money" Mayweather in an extremely scripture Wrestling Match. Ah, the "This is our Celebrity inclusion" bit. While WWE had some good moments in the hype of this, I really am not interested in this match in the least, except as to how Floyd wins. I imagine he'd ditch the wrestling and just go for a crap-load of punches to Show's face (Much like the first confrontation). And yeah, Mayweather wins somehow...who the hell knows how...we'll find out on Sunday. Triple H vs. John Cena vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship I'm not expecting the worlds greatest match out of this either, but I AM expecting a DAMN GOOD match out of it. Boo Cena all you want, call Orton as undeserving as you want, and whine about how you hate Triple H all you want...but they will bring their A-game. Cena has time and again delivered when it comes to PPV, whether you chose to admit that or not. Sure, he isn't the best...but he fights with heart. I've been an avid Orton fan for quite some time now and think not only is his title reign deserved, but I think it's a hell of a lot better than his first time around. Now, who walks out the champ? Is Cena going to be thrust back in the limelight? Has Triple H lurked in the shadows too long? I honestly think, and am pulling for...Randy Orton to retain the title. I think that's what everyone is least suspecting, I think it'd be a great twist, and honestly, I see that as the best ending...*cough*andthenofcourseMRKENNEDcashesinhisMITBshotandwinsthetitle fromorotntobecomethenewwwechampionthusfullfillinghispromisethathedcashinthe MITBatwrestlemania24andwinthechampionship...KENNEDY!!!!!*cough* And finally, EDGE vs. The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship...with Undertaker's prestigious 15-0 Undefeated Streak at risk. Is there much more I can say, other than...we love you, Edge...really. No hard feelings...but...NO CHANCE that you're taking down the streak. I only imagine you don't want it that way either. Undertaker's true legacy in the WWE....other than having the most "out there" gimmick be so damn successful throughout the years...is the unprecedented 15-0 streak at Wrestlemania...and I think WWE is going to keep it that way...rightfully so. And I sure hope afterwards, that The Undertaker can have a lengthy run with that title. All in all, I'm excited for both the WWE and World Heavyweight Championship matches as well as MITB and even Flair/HBK. Overall though? I feel a little off. This doesn't really make me think "WRESTLEMANIA!". It makes me think, a GOOD PPV...but, this year, the "Grandaddy of them all!" feels more like the "Crazy Uncle on my Mothers side" (Note: No offense to JG's Crazy Uncle Ralph...and hell, I don't know which side he's on to tell you the truth). I love it, but there's some things I wish it could be without.
