Hot Threads: Setting Up the Ganso Bomb, Betting on Daniel Bryan's Virginity, and Maybe There is No TNA Champion After All
By Mike Johns

Did you know that World Wrestling Insanity has a Message Board? Yep. We've done got us one of them there fancy Message Boards, where you, the random, unnamed wrestling fan can go and vent your frustrations. From WWE's Family Friendly Direction, to ROH's Production issues, to whatever stupid stunt TNA is running with this week, the Insanity Message Boards is your place to speak your mind. You can also interact with fellow Insanity Readers, as well as the Insanity Staff. We even have an E-Fed, if you're into that whole "Role-Playing" thing, so feel free to stop on by and join in the fun!

In the meantime though, here's a taste of what you're missing –

Hot Topic  I'd like to begin this week by telling you a story about ECW Original, Balls Mahoney.   Apparently, when he was in High School, he competed on his school's wrestling team.   During a match, he supposedly punched out a referee, which led to him being banned from amateur wrestling in his home state of New Jersey pretty much permanently.   Why do I bring this up?   Because RDLee found an animated .GIF of this one kid who, should he ever turn pro, could top Balls' story in a heartbeat…

RDLee

For the truly nerdy out there, you will recognize this maneuver as the "Ganso Bomb", originated by none other than Lou Thez while wrestling in Japan.

Mr. Anderson recently won the TNA World Title off of Jeff Hardy at the Genesis PPV, supposedly because of Jeff's impending court date, where he plans to plead guilty to his various drug possession charges.   Of course, our board seems to be a mixed bag as far as how long Anderson will be champ, as you can see…

JohnnyCraze
How long will Anderson keep the belt? Any guesses?

Anthony.Analog
Until they find out what's happening w/ Jeff Hardy. If he's going to jail... he'll keep the belt till summer, at least. If not, it's going back on Hardy ASAP.

Exx
I wouldn't rule out Matt getting a title run if Jeff isn't available. Not saying that's what I want but I wouldn't be surprised since he's in the main event mix with RVD. It seems with the storyline, someone in immortal has to hold the title for the sake of power to counteract what Dixie's character is doing behind the scenes.

Either way, I'd be surprised if Anderson is still holding the title at the end of the next ppv. This seems like one of those Lugar title reigns in WCW.

RowdyRodimus
No comparison, even during his first run with the PWF Heavyweight Belt with the WCW nameplate had a better looking belt than TNA right now. If you mean his actual reign, then maybe. Then again, if you are the champion of a company nobody watches do you even have a reign?

[Mike's Note: You know… that's a pretty good question.   This may explain why I seriously don't give a crap who the TNA Champion is right now, either way.   Maybe there just isn't one, and that whole silly belt thing is just a delusion caused by too much exposure to Crash TV.   Hell, maybe this whole thing is a dream, and none of this is real at all.   The past year of TNA, the Hogan stuff, the ECW revival, LayCool winning all those damn belts, the fact that Daniel Bryan is mere seconds away from being part of a pro-abstinence angle in WWE, and that whole mess with CM Punk and the Nexus… none of that is real.    Any second now, I'm going to wake up next to Madison Rayne, and realize that my life doesn't suck nearly as much as…

I'm not waking up, am I?   Damn it!]

The Chosen 1
I'd say that Matt Hardy EVENTUALLY winning the World Title is a 100% Guarantee just based on well... everything that has ever happened with Matt ever, ever,... TNA will put the belt on him the same way they put it on Christian or even in some ways R-Truth... or even more so... Mr. ANDERSON. They're suckers for the WWE dropped the ball on me so I came here and flourished to become A WORLD CHAMPION story.... which is otherwise known to casual fans as the "Oh he couldn't ever win anything more than the IC Title in WWE so he went to TNA and won their little belt" story.

Anthony.Analog
I'd say Christian's win didn't quite fall in this category for the simple fact that it kind of started it. Meth Hardy had already been to TNA and came back to WWE and got nowhere near the NWA title while he was away, so winning the belt just for showing up wasn't a forgone conclusion at the time. Christian went over to TNA and actually went over Jarrett for his win, attaching his name to the legitimate lineage of the NWA title instead of the abomination Anderson has to carry around.

What's the over/under on Matt Hardy's custom belt being shaped like a piece of fried chicken?

Hot Topic  Well, since I brought it up earlier, let's just talk about this one a bit.   This past Monday, on RAW, this happened –

Yeah.   Apparently, WWE has decided to cast Daniel Bryan as a virgin, and we're now being treated to an angle which sees the Bellas not only now competing for his affections, but to be, as they put it, "his first".   Now, sure, you're expecting me to have some sort of nerd-related seizure over this, but this is WWE.   They do silly things like this.   After all, this is basically the whole appeal of the Twilight franchise, the story of supernatural creatures trying to bed down perhaps the single most vile, selfish, manipulative woman in the history of all fiction, but can't, because… I don't know.   Abstinence rules?   Anyway, while I hope to whatever god I should believe in that they're not going to go the Twilight pro-abstinence emo-fest with this, let's find out what you guys think of Daniel's Virtue.

Aaron Wood
I suspect that they are both going to end up looking foolish when Bryan affirms that he's done chicks in the past.

Either that or unlike the Drew/Kelly angle, THIS angle is the one that is going to mimic the Jericho/Trish/Christian, wher eyou have two folks betting, but it might be that one of them falls for him and then either, they go on their happy merry way and the other Bella finds her own man (possibly John Morrison after that video) and that's a face vs. heel dynamic.

Or one of the Bellas could fall for DanBry and he turns heel and he's been fucking the other one all along.

Either way, I actually have belief that the one person who won't end up looking stupid, at least in the end, will be Bryan.

Exx
If only Bryan owned a tv he could see what the bellas are up to.

The Chosen 1
WWE obviously understands Daniel Bryan's MAJOR fanbase is the internet/trekkie nerdy wrestling fans... So they have presented him as something similar to that... Saying Bryan is a virgin... AND actually going even farther to say he has never even KISSED a girl,.. is so obviously an attempt to get under those fans' skin but I'm confident it's being done in the "trying to work the marks" kind of way as apposed to the "really insulting the marks" kind of way. He's already been presented as a nerdy internet darling.... but at the same time he's got everybody jealous because he has two hot twins who follow him everywhere. In the same way, I'm sure that they're going to showcase him as a virgin loser here only for him to turn around in the end and pull a McLovin' with him actually having been a Mack Daddy all along....

Either that or considering Nikki says "anyone can kiss the pretty ones" it'll turn out Bryan just doesn't like skinny so called "hot" girls and this all ends with him and Awesome Kong hooking up.

TheGreatWhiteDope
Them falling for him but finding out that he hasn't really went after them for this long because he already has a serious relationship (Where is Maria when you need her?) with a diva already on the roster would be interesting.

Or Kong...that'd be cool/hilarious/awesome mixed tag matches. They could probably hold the tag belts together.

Also weird moment, seeing the Bella Twins in the cut up Danielson shirts are the first time I've ever thought they looked attractive.......

James Bullock
It's sad that this is the only thing I can add to the conversation, but I completely agree with you. I'm not a Bella fan, but I actually could ignore them talking long enough to gawk at the screen like a virgin, high school nerd that's looking at the hot twins hanging with the jocks across the hall.

[Mike's Note: Girls: Looking for a new way to attract men?   Try a Daniel Bryan T-Shirt!]

Exx
My gut feeling is that Brie ends up falling for him. Its not really exclusive to wrestling, they've done this kind of story for years in tv shows and movies though I think its always been 2 guys and a girl everytime I've seen it in the past. They tried out Nikki as a heel on nxt so it would make sense for her to do the actual turn here.

Or it could be that Bryan doesn't mind being used sexually by the bellas and just plays along.

And, since we're on the subject…

M.O.D.
Has anyone else noticed the increased language (albeit still mild) usage and increasingly pervasive topics (Bellas/Bryan) now that the Senate race is over?

The Chosen 1
Not to mention psychological and physical torture via whipping with a strap as well as faking a suicide attempt

Bundorama
They offset that last night with Cena using the word "poopie", and then him apologizing for saying that, but claimed he was doing his best with "a PG Show." Funny enough, I've seen a lot of programs with the "TV-PG" rating that push the envelope far more than The WWE does with it. At times, it feels like it's more "TV-G" than "TV-PG"...

Anthony.Analog
Did he revert back to "poopie" again? I missed the first part of Raw. Thats shameful. That he said poopie, not that I missed it. Lol

T-Dog
He got fined a hefty amount for saying "ass" last week. No joke.

Tenchi
The only "evidence" of this was a post on Twitter. They left the sequence uncensored on WWE.com. Surely they would have consistency across all mediums? Something doesn't really add up.

Mike Johns
I really don't see the sense of fining someone for saying the word ass on a family of networks that censor the word "hole" when you say "asshole".

Aaron Wood
It's all part of the "Let's be a little more edgy within the PG setting" thing they've been doing since Linda finished the election run, because while TV-PG serves the WWE's best interests at this moment, thanks to the ability to bring sponsors on board and cultivate the next generation of fans, they don't have to be on their tippiest top behaviour lest it affect Linda.

Hot Topic  And, finally, before we go, our newest friend on the boards, squirrelz!, has something to say about that current state of TNA wrestling.

Squirrelz!
I also hope they don't die... I know this is beating the dead flies around the dead horse but my first time watching TNA was whatever PPV had Christian debut (It was the same day as Eddie Guerreros death). I got hooked just from that PPV, watching the X-Division guys like AJ Styles, Sabin, Daniels put on killer matches, being exposed to "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe (Contrary to the "Crying little bitch that stalks Pope" Joe) and watching him hit the piss out of his opponent while I cringed every time he struck his opponent. All of that action got me hooked on the product, it was wrestling in it's finest form. I got connected with the characters that actually mattered to me (X-Division mostly but even the other guys were at least passable) and invested my time and money to watch those athletes ply their craft in the ring for my entertainment and enjoyment.

Once Bischoff and Hogan strolled in and said January 4th was going to change TNA, it was like watching a female friend walk up to a bunch of abusive, murderous bikers to hang out with them. You know it's a really bad idea but she's persistent and says everything will be fine and goes with them. Then the next day you go see her and she's been beaten to a pulp, crying in fear knowing that not only did she get abused/violated but she already committed to them and it's going to happen again...and again...and again. Same thing just nowhere near as bad as that situation. Hearing Hogan and Bischoff were going to TNA in their creative role scared the crap out of me. January 4th came and the head to head Impact was just a beating of chaos, confusion and insanity... and it is still happening to this day.

For the people that see a lot of TNA hating, from the TNA fans that I have talked to, most of us feel the same way I do. We fell in love with the product then watched it get abused and violated to no end with it progressively getting worse to the point where we just can't watch too much of it anymore because of the insanity. We hope that the good ol' product will come back, hook more people and actually be a legitimate form of competition for WWE. We want to see X-Division being a highlight of every show, not just a 3 minute Jersey Shore ripoff segment. We want to see AJ Styles as the Phenominal one, the face of the promotion with his aerial mastery and exciting style, not playing generic Horsemen. I could go on and on about things we'd kill to see. Most of the people that flame on TNA do it because they care about the product and know the potential they still have.

Watching TNA these days is like watching your sister being in a snuff film against her will. You hope she's going to be okay and that brighter days are ahead but unfortunately, the film is saying otherwise.

... Damn that is long, sorry about that guys/gals. Thanks for reading my ranting though

You see?   I keep telling you I'm not the only one…

This is just a taste of what you're missing on the Boards. Why don't you come by sometime and check it out for yourself, eh?   You never know when something you post may end up being the next Hot Thread.
