By Kevin Peel
Sep 14, 2006 - 12:23 PM
Cleveland All-Pro wrestling airs weekly in the northeast Ohio market on Sportstime Ohio which is the cable channel owned by the Cleveland Indians. While new to cable tv, they have actually been around for over 13 years. Their website is at capw.net where they also have dvds of past events available for purchase. This is their second episode of the tv show. Episode three will air on Friday at midnight with a replay on Sunday at 11pm.
The show opens with Michael Cash trying to get an interview with "The Monster" Abyss and Michael seems quite terrified. He says no one knows why Abyss is on the card tonight and he tries to ask Abyss why he's here. Abyss gives him a dirty look which send Michael running off. Abyss then does his pose while waving his arms and his usual grunting as we roll the opening credits.
Joe Dombrowski and Jamie Scott welcome us to the show and run down tonight's card. The lineup shapes up as Marion Fontaine vs. Chris Kole, a tag match with Faith N Nothing vs. Bump N Uglies, a match for the tag team titles with The Suplex machines defending against unknown whose partner virus is injured. They speculate if Unknown will go it alone tonight. Also, Abyss is in action.
We cut backstage to Michael Cash who has an interview with Faith N Nothing. The individual names are Christian Faith and Vince Nothing. Christian Faith appears to be mysterious as he doesn't talk and stands in the wearing a white and black mask and a hood that covers most of his face. Vince Nothing appears to be the talker of the group. He says he's not concerned about the match against that Detroit trash known as the Bump N Uglies. He says they'll steam plow right through them and then he calls out the tag team champs The Suplex Machines. He says the champs may have gotten the better of them last time, but this time they are coming for those titles by any means necessary. He adds a couple forearm shots to the wall to get his point across.
(1) Marion Fontaine vs. "Killer" Chris Kole
Our opening contest has Marion Fontaine taking on Chris Kole. To avoid any confusion, Marion is actually a guy and a pretty skinny one at that. He's playing a cocky young heel and the announcers put over Chris Kole as a veteran known all over the world but add that he said there's not competition better than here in CAPW. Marion opens up with a slap and leans through the ropes to force the ref to hold back Chris Kole from retaliating. They tie up and Kole backs him to the corner but Marion reverses him into the corner and lands a punch to the head. Marion tries to bail out of the ring but Kole pulls him back in by his legs and whips him to the ropes for a hiptoss, follows that with a back elbow and hits a backcracker. Marion bails to the floor to take time out as we cut to commercial. When we return from the break, Chris Kole is putting a whooping on Marion out on the floor with some forearms and chops. He rolls him back in the ring, but Marion goes to the eyepoke of doom to take advantage. Fontaine follows that up with a low blow and hits a leg lariat for a two count. He whips Kole backfirst to the corner and Kole collapses. Marion follows up with a stomp to the back and slaps on a seated abdominal stretch to work on the back some more. Fontaine lands a spinning heel kick and scores another two count. Fontaine then catches Kole in a sleeper and takes him to the mat. Kole's arm drops twice but he fights his way back to his feet and lands some elbows to get out of the move and puts Fontaine in a sleeper of his own. Kole then drops him to the mat and comes off the ropes with a mafia kick to the head. Fontaine comes back with a single leg trip and a stomp to the back. He follows that with a lionsault for a two count and drops an elbow before climbing to the top rope. Kole catches him on the ropes, but Fontaine is able to shove him to the mat but wastes too much time acting proud of himself before going for a top rope legdrop. Kole moves out of the way and hits a huge lariat to set up for a tilt-o-whirl backbreaker for a two count. He follows that with a supex into a neckbreaker across the knee for another two count. He then catches him in a high angle back suplex to finish him off with the one....two...three.
Winner: "Killer" Chris Kole
From here we go to a promo from CAPW Unified Heavyweight champion Claudio Castagnoli. He says he's a fighting champion and he's issuing an open challenge for anyone to challenge him for his belt.
(2) Bump N Uglies vs. Faith N Nothing
The Bump N Uglies are individually Bubba MacKenzie and Josh Movado. They come to the ring wearing these really strange red, white and blue outfits and masks that I can't possibly do justice explaining. They grab the mic and say they are only true americans in the building. They're disgusted by the way that the Cleveland crowd is treating their "American heroes." They add that they should receive smiles and adjulation when they come to the ring. Faith N Nothing hit the ring and we're underway. Bump N Uglies take the early advantage and set up for a pair of ddts, but Faith N Nothing come back and knock both of the masked guys to the outside. As we get down to one on one action in the ring, Josh Movado takes control of Christian Faith with a camel clutch. Faith gets out of that and comes back with a pair of forearms before tagging out to his partner Vince Nothing. Faith N Nothing work over MacKenzie in the corner as we go to the commercial break. When we return, Faith N Nothing are still in control but MacKenzie comes back with a jawbreaker on Vincent Nothing and tries making the tag. Christian Faith runs in the ring and knocks Josh Movado off the ring apron to put a stop to that and Faith N Nothing double team MacKenzie with a barrage of kicks. Movado returns to the ring and catches Faith in a ddt. Movado then hit a sitting tombstone on Vince Nothing and set him up for their team finisher but Faith breaks that up and tosses Movado out of the ring. Faith then hits MacKenzie with a roaring elbow and Vince Nothing follows with a bridging German suplex for the one....two....three.
Winners: Faith N Nothing
They cut to a promo with "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels. In this promo he's holding one of the NWA tag title belts so its taped some time ago. He says he's coming and he has one word of advise.....say your prayers.
(3) CAPW Tag Team Title Match: The Suplex Machines vs. Unknown and ???
Unknown and Virus, who are two masked wrestlers, make their way to the ring. Virus has his arm in a sling suffering from a separated shoulder that he received when they lost the belts to the Suplex Machines. Unknown appears to be going it alone this evening. The Suplex Machines who are individually Jason Bane and Ray Rowe. They double team Unknown and Ray Rowe put him in an armbar submission as Virus runs to the back. When he returns, he has "The Monster" Abyss with him. Abyss hits the ring and tees off on Bane and Rowe with clotheslines. He goes for a double chokeslam but they counter with knees to the gut and come off the ropes but Abyss catches them in a double clothesline. Bane and Rowe roll out to the floor and Abyss launches his partner Unknown onto the both of them as they cut to commercial. We return with Jason Bane tagging in to face Unknown but he wants Abyss in the ring and Unknown is happy to make that happen. Bane and Abyss trade shoulder tackles but neither man will budge. Bane tries coming off the ropes with a clothesline but Abyss ducks and catches him with a big boot on the rebound. Rowe tries to run in and catches a big boot for his trouble as well. Abyss tries an avalanche in the corner, but Bane moves out of the way and catches Abyss with a big boot of his own. He takes him out to the floor and dishes out some punishment whipping Abyss into the guardrail. He rolls him back in and makes the tag to Ray Rowe. Rowe works over Abyss in the corner with a series of forearms and tries to wear him down with a chinlock. Abyss fights his way back to his feet with a series of elbows but Rowe takes Abyss down to the mat with two handfuls of hair and tags Bane back in. Jason Bane bodyslams the big guy and drops a pair of elbows for a two count, with Unknown breaking up the pin. Abyss fights his way over to the corner, but Rowe runs in and the referee doesn't see Abyss tag in Unknown so he doesn't allow it. Bane chokes Abyss in the corner as we take another commercial break. When we return, Abyss and Bane crash into each other and both men hit the mat. This allows Abyss to finally make the tag to Unknown. Unknown comes in with dropkicks on both men and lands an enziguiri on Rowe. Bane catches Unknown in a T-Bone suplex, but Abyss slides in the ring and takes out Bane with a chokeslam. Ray Rowe tries to run back in but Abyss catches him in the black hole slam. Unknown then climbs to the top and Abyss gives him in an assist for a rocket launcher onto Rowe for the one....two....three. Abyss and Unknown are the new CAPW Tag Team Champions......but wait. It appears the ghost of Dusty is rearing its ugly head. CAPW commissioner Walt Klaczinski (?) enters the ring and says the contract was for Unknown and Virus to challenge for the titles so this is a non title victory. Upset over not winning the belts, Abyss gives his partner Unknown the torture rack drop and walks off.
Winners: Abyss and Unknown (non-title)
Thoughts: The main event was pretty good this week, but as a whole the show didn't really have the energy that last week's show had. These first two shows have done a good job introducing all their main players which is good for people like myself who are new to the promotion. Next week's lineup looks really strong and could turn out to be a great show.
Next Week:
--J.T. Lightning and Chris Cronus vs. Faith N Nothing
--Claudio Castagnoli defends the CAPW Unified title
--The return of "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels
