MUSICAL GUESTS: Sparta
Your hosts, Bret Ernst and Kris Klos deliver a brief preview of tonight’s show:
The Filth & the Fury vs. The Trailer Park Boys and the return of Jack Evans! The boys from Sparta join Ernst and Klos on commentary as tonight’s show gets underway.
Ernst and Klos recap last week’s WSX title match where Vampiro defeated Six-Pac. While they knew both men were going to give it their all, they had no idea that the action would be this intense. Highlights air including Vampiro’s tombstone piledriver on Six-Pac into an exploding coffin.
INTERVIEW: Vampiro is seen in a dimly lit room with candles. He talks about how he’s spent half his life wrestling, losing blood and flesh. The WSX title is his life and he will make any sacrifice he has to make- his flesh, his blood, his soul.
Announcer Fabian gets the fans fired up and he warns them to step back because they might get burned.. Just then, the ring explodes with pyro as he introduces the first match. One fall with a ten minute time limit.
The announcers remind the fans that Teddy is the son of wrestler Bret Hart and the oldest grandson of Stu Hart. They talk about how the Harts are synonymous with wrestling. Josh “Jug” Raymond and Teddy Hart get things started. Cross and Webb tag in with Cross executing some lightning fast moves to take control. Cross tags Hart back in as Raymond tries the sneak attack to no avail and catches an elbow to the face for his troubles. Teddy delivers a sweet looking cradle DDT to Raymond who bails out of the ring. Hart isn’t letting up as he follows up with a furious springboard moonsault (Hart has one of the most fluid moonsaults anywhere) to all the Trailer Park Boys (TPK) and their manager. MDogg joins on the fun with a twisting corkscrew moonsault to both Trailer Park Boys. Things are looking bad for the TPK as Cross holds Raymond down across his knee and Hart prepares to dive off the top rope. However Nate Webb runs in and clotheslines Cross, allowing Raymond to get his knees up as Teddy Hart delivers another moonsault. TPK start to double team Hart, hoping to gain some momentum. However Hart counters out of several moves by Webb perplexing him and setting him up for a reverse Tiger Driver. “Jug” makes his presence felt again as he applies a double underhook shoulder backbreaker to Hart. He runs over to attack Matt Cross but gets tripped up and knocked to the mat as Cross dives off with a double foot stop (aka “Warrior’s Way”). Cover by Cross on “Pug” but only a two count. Outside the ring Teddy Hart pulls out some electrical wiring and shocks Webb with it. He then tosses some water on a table and delivers a super shock followed by a risky swanton off of a platform which sends Webb through a table. Back in the ring, Cross executes a beautiful shooting star legdrop on Raymond, getting the pinfall victory.
WINNER: The Filth and the Fury.
Spectacular match. Lots of high spots with a completely over-the-top finish (the electricity). That’s what WSX is all about though and they make no bones about it. .
VIDEO: Backstage footage involving Los Pochos Guapos from last week where the two teammates argued. Kaos thinks his partner Aaron Aguilera is too concerned with mama sitas and cerveczas and less about him. Aguilera disagrees and says he arranged for a TLC match (Tables, ladders, and cerveczas) with their rivals Alcatrazz and Luke Hawx. The WSX announcers confirm the challenge has been accepted and that will be tonight’s main event.
El Hombre is billed as being “just north of the border” and the announce team question his somewhat pasty appearance. The WSX announcers talk about Evans’ flashy ring entrances and this time is no exception. Evans starts break-dancing in the ring but his antics backfire with El Hombre attacking him and taking control. El Hombre dishes out some punches and knees followed by a flying clothesline that hurls Evans out of the ring. Over the top rope dive by El Hombre on Evans as Evans can’t get any offense in. Fishermanbuster suplex on Evans but it’s not enough for the three count. Springboard back elbow by Evans as he dodges a roundhouse kick from El Hombre. Not enough for the pin as Evans tries again with a flying knee. Another kick out by El Hombre. Evans drags El Hombre into the corner and hits the 630 Splash on him, covering him for the pin and the win.
WINNERS: Jack Evans After the commercial break, the announcers talk up WSX as the home of the new generation of superstars and the place to catch the very best in wrestling. They note that there’s one man who doesn’t agree with this though as a video airs.
VIDEO: “Matt Classic” Footage airs of wrestling legends Frank Gotch and Lou Thesz as WSX newcomer Match Classic is seen training in the catch as catch can style. Watch out for his old school Greco-Roman moves.
The WSX announcers hype a match online between Matt Classic and Scorpio Sky. The back-story for Matt Classic is that he was involved in a car accident forty years and recently emerged from a coma.
The in-ring tag debut of Los Pochos Guapos gets off to a rocky start as they miss a double baseball slide on their opponents and get blasted with a ladder. However Los Pochos regroup with Kaos delivering the Kaos Driver to Luke Hawx. Kaos climbs the top rope but Aguilera pulls him off and directs him to climb the ladder inside the ring. As Kaos follows his direction, Aguilera begins flirting with some of the female fans at ringside. Kaos has given his opponent too much time to recover though and Hawx ducks out of the way of a Kaos moonsault. As Aguilera flirts with the mama sitas, he gets waylaid by Alcatrazz who uses the top rope to clothesline him. Alcatrazz and Hawx take control, working over both Pochos. Hawx slingshots Aguilera with the ladder as Kaos gets an inverted Russian leg sweep for his trouble. Meanwhile, Alcatraz walks the top rope ala the Undertaker only to get pulled off by Aguilera and sent into the ladder. Luke Hawx catches Aguilera off guard though and knocks him to the mat as he signals for his finisher. However he’s forgotten about Kaos who catches him with the Bonzo Bomb. Kaos sets up a table and looks to be ready to use it when Aguilera orders him to get the beer bottles. Los Pochos look confused and their disarray sees Kaos getting sent face first into the beer bottles as Aguilera is knocked out of the ring. Alcatrazz powerbombs Kaos through the table and he’s easy pickings for Alcatrazz.
WINNER: Alcatrazz and Luke Hawx.
Fun main event but the first two matches outshined them. WSX is doing a good job of providing high-flying action with blown spots, interesting characters, and more storyline than you’d expect in a thirty minute show.
