Welcome WWI Readers, to TNA's First PPV of 2009, Genesis...the begining! Also a band fronted by Peter Gabriel and then Phil Collins.

Before we begin...allow me to tell you, I am pumped from the recent Philadelphia Eagles victory over Reigning Super Bowl Champion the New York Giants! So syked...so you can imagine how I feel now, having to cover Genesis...Bear with me, as AMP and crack are in short supply...speaking of lines, we're about to cross one!

Genesis is opening with a 6-Man Tag match with Sonjay Dutt, Jimmy Rave and a dude from Japan taking on Showtime Eric Young, and LAX. It appears Dutt and Homicide will start things off. Nice hip-toss from Homicide, but he'll eat a hurricanrana from Dutt...he remains mostly unaffected, though...which shocks Sonjay. Young and Rave are tagged in. Eric does some crowd playing before the two lock-up. After a little working from Rave, Eric unleashes on him. This leads to Hernandez and Kioshi being tagged in. Nice double team from LAX on Yoshi...butone on one, Ki has an advantage over Homicide. Cide nails a nice powerbomb on Dutt! Kioshi runs in to mix things up though...and he's on top over Cide. Sonjay flies outside to take on EY and Cide...but Hernandez follows suit to knock out pretty much everyone. There was an instance of move after move on from everyone...Sonjay nails a leg drop through the ropes, uses them for leverage, and picks up the 3-count over EY! Apparently this is an elimination tag, as this match continues on...I did not know this.. .Rave rolls up Homicide and picks up a 3-count.

Hernandez is alone against Sonjay, Kioshi and Rave. He's easily tossing them from one side of the ring to the other, though, so I wouldn't worry. Kioshi tastes a border toss, and that eliminates him. A sit-out power-bomb on Dutt immediately follows to his elimination. The odds are even, and Hernandez flies from the top rope and nails a splash, picking up the 3-count against Rave. WINNER: Hernandez (...And Eric Young and Homicide)

Backstage, Jim Cornette has been bangin on the Main Event Mafia's Door. Apparently Rhino has gone missing, and JC thinks somethings up. Steiner answers the door, and tells Cornette he should search the streets...Rhino used to be a druggie, after all...

It's time for X-Division Action, which pits partners Alex Shelly and Chris Sabin against each other for the X-Division Title. The two fought through the tournament, predicting that they'd both advance to the finals. Last iMPACT! they also claimed that this wouldn't affect the team, as it's not personal. Simply business...

They start off simple, with a lock-up, into a series of arm-locks. The match continues with locks, reverseals...and a fairly silent crowd...Things start picking up a bit, as both men get fast and start unleashing. Every once in a while they pause, and the crowd gives the appretiation cheer. Sabin unleashes some kicks, and slaps on a weird arm lock variation. A crazy set of moves an a suicide dive from Sabin to Shelly! Shelly nails a summersault splash on Sabin back in the ring though...and now he appears to be on top. The two men exchange chops in the ring...Shelly eats a boot to the face from Sabin...and this match starts heating up. Sabin flies from up top...right into an armbar from Shelly. Sabin with a tiger suplex pin, but it's only good for 2. Shelly nails a slam, but it'll only pick up 2.

Alex goes up top and Chris meets him there. Sabin goes for a Hurricanrana, but Shelly held on to the top and goes for a frogsplash, but Sabin gets his knees up! Shelly quickly nails back to back frogsplashes, but it's STILL only good for 2! Mega clothesline from Sabin, and he nails the cradleshock!!! 1-2---NO!!! He sets up for a top rope cradleshock, but Shelly fights it off and nails the sliced bread! It's ONLY a 2-count! He goes for the sliced bread again, but Sabin slips out...and Shelly favoring his leg. The ref goes to check, and Sabin eases up to check on him... that's when Alex Shelly rolls him up and picks up the 3-count! Winner and NEW X-Division Champion: Alex Shelly

Backstage, JC is having issues. Kevin Nash can't wrestle tonight due to a staph infection...Doctor's Orders. Mic says the MEM will have until the bell rings to find a replacement...but the match WILL go on, regardless...even if it's a handicap match. Rhino is still no call, no show.

Up next is former Referee Shane Sewell taking on The Middle Eastern Nightmare Sheik Abdul Shabir. Guys who have 3 names do not deserve, warrant, or need a 3 tiered nick name...Referee Shane is officially a wrestler now...but uh, come on...I'm still gonna call him Ref Shane. He grabs The Sheik from outside the ring and tosses him in. He starts off the match with 10 glorious punches in the corner and gives Abdul a bite on the forehead. He takes the match outside and chucks Shabir around...but finally Earl Hebner gets things back into the ring. Ref Shane takes an early lead, nails a nice cross body block. Sheik tries walking away, up the ramp...but Shane chases him up and knocks him down. Don West reminds us that Rhino is no call no show so far, and Nash is out tonight. Sheik drops Sewell jewels first across the audience guardrail.

Sheik slaps on a sleeper, but Sewell slowly fights back up to his feet. Shane goes Hulk Hogan, as every strike Daivari hits him with seems to make him more powerful. That is until he runs into a spinebuster from ol' Daivy-boy. The Middle Eastern Nightmare drops a couple of knees to the back of Shane, and then works on his midsection. Shane slowly starts taking control over Shabir, nailing move after move, takedown after takedown. Nice bulldog from Shane, followed by a 2-count. A jawbreaker from Bashir isn't enough to knock Sewell off his stride, he goes up top and flies down. It's still only a 2-count, but Shane has momentum. He drops Sheik on one leg and locks on a figure four! Cheap pop, sure...and Bashir gets to the ropes to break off the move. Shabir lifts Shane up and drops him throat first across the top rope.

Bashir plays a tad on the dirty side, and Hebner is getting pissy. Hebner gets in his face, Shabir fights back and Earl decks him! Sewell rolls him up and a quick 3-count is called!

Backstage, JC is demanding answers from Booker T and Sharmell. Booker demands respect, and the refs, including Shane, breaks them off. Shane Sewell and Booker T have a brief staredown...

It's 3-way-Tag Team Action for the Tag Team Titles. Beer Money INC., Matt Morgan and Abyss and the Tag Team Champions Lethal and Creed. Creed and Storm are the legal men, remember these are TNA Triple Tag rules...anyone can essentially tag themself in. Creed hits his typical array of moves, picks up a 2-count and tags in Cheesmo. Roode is tagged in, and the two lock up. Roode drives him to the corner and gives Lethal some chops...but Lethal swings out, and delivers a couple of hard hits to Rob. Jackie somehow got thrown into the mix, and so did Abyss...and they all work together to knock out Beer Money. A little comedy thrown in, as they end up looking like they're in a threesome...Creed and Lethal nail a summersault and suicide dive on Berr Money INC.

Morgan decides to get involved, and goes up top to take out Beer Money & Creed/Lethal. Abyss and Roode are the legal men now, but beer Money double team the monster. Abyss goes for a tag for Morgan, but Creed tags himself in. He goes all out on Beer Money, they try to double-team, but he reverses into a double DDT. Beer Money get back on top, though...double team Creed, and he is saved from a 3-count by Lethal. the double-team continues...huge spinebuster from Roode...but he's still only grabbing 2-counts. Strom appeared to be going for a bronco buster...but Creed dodges and James will eat corner turnbuckle. Creed hot tags Lethal, who nails move after move on Roode. 1-2---Storm crashes in to break it up. Lethal Combination on Roode, and Lethal goes up top but Morgan blind tags in...he goes for the pin but Jay will break it up.

Lethal tries fight off Abyss but that's to no avail, as Abyss chokeslams him into his knee. Creed flies from up top and takes him out, but Morgan rushes in and gives him a huge boot. Matt Morgan nails a weird move on both Beer Money, but Roode follows up after wards with a rolling neckbreaker. Jackie distracts the ref and Storm chucks in a tag title belt...Abyss grabs it and accidently belts Morgan. Roode tires picking up a win, Lethal nails a move and goes for a pin...but the Ref is distracted outside the ring. Storm superkicks Morgan, drapes Roode over his body and acts knocked out...as the ref slides in and makes the 3-count. WINNERS AND NEW CHAMPS: Beer Money INC.

Morgan and Abyss have an exchange in the ring. Backstage, JB is with Kurt Angle...who storms into JCs office. Kurt says if HE has a problem, he's to see ANGLE, not anyone else. JC asks what's the deal with Rhino...and Kurt tells him he should be more concerned with Jeff Jarrett. Angle apparently assumes responsibility...saying that they took Rhino, beat him and left him in a lot.

Up next, a Knockouts Tag Match...ODB is joining up with Roxxi and Taylor Wilde. They are taking on Khan, Siade, and that newer chick...I forget her name. Sojourner Bolt, that's it/ Forgive me for my complete lack of interest in the match... ODB rolls up Bolt to pick up the win. Awesome Kong makes her way to the ring following the win. Her and ODB have a faceoff in the middle of the ring...Kong gives her some slaps...and her and ODB start a clash, that gets messy when all the tag partners get involved.

Backstage, JC is with Sting...and he's wondering where the honor and respect is when other MEM members are beating down Wrestlers? Sting says just that...maybe he wasn't involved. Sting hasn't been to Charlotte in a while...and he showed up to wrestle. Whatever happened to Rhino, ain't any of his business.

It's GRUDGE MATCH time...as Kurt Angle is taking on Jeff Jarrett ( Is it gonna be anything like the Eagles/Giants Grudge match today? That was...y'know, actually entertaining...). Jarrett takes an early lead...and we cut to the back where we see...RHINO! Rhino is tearing apart a locker room area, throwing trashcans and chairs around...he's pissed.

Jarrett is fighting Angle outside the ring and chucks him into the guardrail. He steals an audience members big gulp of beer and chucks it into his face. This is a no DQ match ( Why do I find out about this shit late?). Snap suplex from Angle, and he follows up with some vicious stomps. Kurt remains in control, nailing a belly-to-belly, picking up a 2-count. He locks on a sleeper, and Jeff tries to pump up the crowd, so he can feed off their eneregy. Angle tries going for the Angle Slam, but he'll be on the receiving end of an arm-drag! Angle charges at Jarrett who shoves him out of the ring. Jarrett then tries, and fails, to fly out of the ring...His foot got caught up on the top rope and the top appeared to have a head-to-head collision. Angle has the ring bell...and he decks Jarrett! Jeff is shaky and very bloody. Angle has been busted open as well ( unless that's Jarrett's blood). I had some minor TV issues so I missed a good 3 minutes or so...Jarrett is a mess, Angle is mildly busted open. Both exchange HUGE blows...until Jarrett just unleashes. Kurt gets a kick in, but Double J runs with momentum. DDT from Jeff, but it's only for 2. Jarrett goes for the stroke, but Angle counters into the Ankle Lock.

Angle rolls outside and gains some strength...grabs a steel chair. Jeff dodges a strike, and gives a dropkick to the chair into Angle's face! STROKE! 1-2-but NO! Angle gets the shoulder up. Jarrett sets him up top, and goes for a superplex but Angle fights him off and shoves him off. Angle flies with a missle dropkick. Angle slam! 1-2-NO, Jarrett gets his shoulders up! Ankle Lock, but Jarrett kicks him off. Angle charges Jeff, but he dodges and Kurt goes shoulder first into the post! Jeff has the guitar...but Kurt kicks him in the jewels! Kurt grabs the guitar and the chair. He essentially sees which the crowd would rather...and keeps the chair. He belts Jeff! 1-2---no! Shoulder up again! Angle is irate, arguing with the ref...Jarrett is stuck in an Ankle Lock again...Double J rolls him out and up, but it's only for 2! Angle goes for an Angle Slam, but Jarrett reverses into a DDT! He grabs the guitar agaun....but the neck is busted off. Jarrett ditches it and grabs the chair...Jarrett belts him clean across the head...Jeff is heavily favoring his ankle though... he crawls to cover Kurt, but it's only two and Angle rolls him up and over for a 3-count. Angle chases refs and security out of the ring...and Angle spits on Jarrett. He stomps on his Ankle, delivers some punches and wraps the ankle around the steel chair! He stomps away like mad...and walks off.

Backstage, a beat up, bloody Rhino is wrapping up his wounds. JC is telling him to call off the match tonight, because we can work something else out. Rhino isn't interested. Meanwhile, Jeff Jarrett is being carted out of the ring. They've got him on a stretcher and are wheeling him out.
Tenay is genuinely disgusted...

And with that...it's time for our World Heavyweight Championship Match. JB is out for introductions, and Earl Hebner is Referee. This is the second, of 3 main events tonight ( Well that's just ridiculous!) Rhino clearly at a disadvantage...having been beaten down earlier by members of the Main Event Mafia. Rhino immediately pounces on the icon, showing no mercy, holding nothing back. Sting gets a shot in on Rhino, enough to take away his momentum. Sting is on top now, and he's ripped the bandages off of Rhino's head. Sting seems to be focused on the cut across Rhino's head...he's driven several fists direct to the face, a couple of kicks and now he's trying to suck some more power out of Rhino with a bear hug. Rhino breaks the hug, and nails a couple of clotheslines. He's heavily favoring his lower back, though. Belly-to-belly from Rhino. GORE! Rhino nails a gore out of nowhere. Sting's outside, but Rhino tosses him back in.

Rhino goes up top...but misses and Sting locks on the deathlock. Rhino manage to fight to the ropes but Sting pulls him back to the middle. Rhino fights back again, and Sting is forced to break it. Rhino nails another belly-to-belly...and he sets up for the gore! He had no speed though, and Sting nails the Death Drop to pick up the 3 count and Retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

It's MAIN EVENT time, as the Mafia's Booker T and Scott Steiner...as well as a third partner, are taking on AJ, Brother Devon and Mick Foley. Booker T reveals that Kevin Nash's replacement is Kip James. He assures everyone that while he's "Cute Kip", he's still badass. Unlike the Panthers...who just plain SUCK. ( There have been a lot of cheap shots towards the panthers tonight).

The 6 men face off, and all start off with a mega beatdown. AJ is working on Steiner...Devon is working over T...While Foley is all over Kip. AJ and Kip appear to be starting off the action, officially. They lock up in the middle and Kip shoves AJ across the ring. AJ kicks him and goes into a side headlock. AJ already nailing his beautiful dropkick...Devon and T are the legal men now, and D takes it right to T, going with some big time hits. Pump and Styles are legal now...and Steiner using his power. They trap AJ in the MEM corner, and Booker T is tagged in. AJ hits a nice kick, not a pele though...but then he follows up with a full-fledged Pele! AJ goes and tags in Mick Foley! He rushes in and takes it to the house on Kip James, Steiner and Booker T. Steiner gave him a huge blow, but Devon takes him on outside the ring. Steiner has the advantage over him, and sends him into the steel guardrail several times. As Steiner chokes Devon, the referee double-count-outs all men.

But Jim Cornette reverses the decision...and orders the match be restarted. Booker has a mic and isn't pleased. Booker claims Cornette doesn't have that power...and declares the match over. Mick grabs a mic and declares that HE has the authority...and restarts the match, HARDCORE RULES! The men scramble around, fighting all over and grabbing weapons left and right. AJ cracks Steiner over the head with a trashcan in the ring. Booker and Foley are fighting by the announce table. Mick picks up Booker and drops him jewels first over the audience guardrail. The Frontline is having their way right now, and Foley tells Devon to get the tables! AJ flies up from the top and frogsplashes onto the table, putting Kip through! Devon shoves Steiner off the top rope, and nails a flying headbutt. AXE KICK from Booker to Devon! Foley rolls in with Mr. Socko! Mandibal Claw!!! But Steiner nails him with a trashcan from behind. Steiner has a chair, and he and Booker are beating Mick down. Foley fights out, grabs the chair and takes out Booker T and DDTs Steiner into the chair. 1-2-3, Mick Foley picks up the win!

AND THAT...Was TNA Genesis...Thanks for reading the coverage, and enjoy your week! Cya Thursday, Fritz out.
