JG's Radio Free Insanity with Manny Fernandez and Outback Jack!
Hey guys, RDLee here substituting for the usual reviewer "Fritz Stephey" (The chocolate pancake from Switzerland) for tonight's real time coverage for "TNA Sacrifice", and oddly enough much like the title, this is a personal "sacrifice" for me as well considering there are at least 100 other things that I would rather be doing tonight than watching this PPV including cutting my toe nails and selling them on Ebay, watching paint dry or improving my UFC Undisputed 09 ranked record to be better than yours!
On another note, please note that I will be attempting to watch this show on a free stream somewhere so bare with me if I run across any lag or problems with the servers. I will be doing my best to provide up to the minute results and play by play. The fun thing about this show is that I haven't watched TNA in a LONG time (minus the awesome house show I went to last month) so I have no clue what the line up is, or what's going on in TNA these days.
As long as I get to see my pal, Dr. Stevie on the show somewhere, I will be happy.
And we are off... with a FBI warning about the show... does this mean we will see the debut of Nunzio and Big Vito tonight???
We start off the show with the main event challengers and champ shown backstage arriving at the building in various vehicles. Funny how the champ shows up in old worn out car looking like a bum... I love Foley regardless... video package is shown hyping the main event of Kurt Angle v.s. Sting v.s. Mick Foley v.s. Jeff Jarrett.
Motor City Machine Guns and Sheik Abdul Bashir v.s. Lethal Consequences and F'N Eric Young
A lot of quick tags and double team manuevers from both the Guns and L.C. Neither team keeps control of the opposition for long. A flying off the ring apron knee to the face from Shelley to Creed put the heels in control for a few. They continued to beat down on Creed until he caught a opening with the heels hitting each other by mistake. He tags out to Macho Man.... I mean Jay Lethal who is in 1980's era Savage attire tonight. The one thing I don't get about this match is why its happening, there has been no explanation so far for the bout. The babyfaces begin hitting their offense and nearly win the match with a Lethal Combo. After all the guys get in the ring and exchange high impact offense, When the dust was cleared, Eric Young hits a Double Death Valley Driver on both Guns only to have Sheik throw him out of the ring after and then turn around into a diving sunset flip from Jay Lethal for the 3 count! After the match, E.Y. makes a disgusted looking face to Jay for stealing his win. Heel turn coming for Young? WHO CARES!!!
Winners: Lethal Consequences and Eric Young
Monster's Ball - Taylor Wilde v.s. Daffney (with Abyss and Dr. Stevie in her corner)
It's great to see Stevie back on my screen, he is such an underrated talent and cool dude even though he keeps ducking me for a fight on UFC 09, LOL! And I will go ahead and plug the T4Show.com site too for shits and giggles... go check out my latest review on the Blu-Ray movie of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button there after the show. Anyways, the match begins with Taylor going fast paced and hitting various diving elbows and dropkicks. Daffney cuts her off and begins the beatdown while yelling and screaming. Stevie is giving her advice and Wilde keeps her offense going. She hits her with a trash can lid and puts Daffney inside a can and hits it with a hockey stick and dropkick! Daffney does not make a comeback and gets pinned after a throw onto a trash can. Stevie comes in and confronts Wilde and Daffney attacks her from behind laying her out. The T4 Show host then spreads out some thumbtacks and tells Abyss to come in and plant Taylor onto them. Abyss is hesitant. Stevie slaps him a few times and takes off his belt to threaten him further. Abyss cowers away and picks up Wilde to chokeslam her only for interviewer Lauren to run in and beg him not to. Stevie throws her down and begins hitting Abyss with the belt. Abyss had enough disrespect and chokeslammed Dr. Stevie on the tacks instead!!! OUCH! I really hope that this all ends with Abyss ending up with Daffney and Stevie reuniting with the rumored debuting Victoria! How cool would that be? Team Psycho v.s. Team Insane!
Winner: Taylor Wilde
X-Division Championship Match (Champion) Suicide v.s. Christopher Daniels
I will not call Christopher Daniels by his new name of Daniels because it doesn't feel right and never will. I guess it's safe to assume that Frankie Kazarian is back under the mask of Suicide. This should be a good match unless there is a ton of interference. Daniels has a new attire that makes him look strange to me. The tone of the beggining of the match was both men getting a feel for each other and exchanging holds. Chris seems to be the dominant mat wrestler due to controlling the majority of the match so far. Don West keeps trying to imply that these 2 are in cahoots and are working together to put on a "staged" match up, terrific. Suicide begins to counter Daniels and hits some quick offense, only for Daniels to reverse his moves and begin running wild on him again. They then have a weird exchange where Daniels could not tombstone Suicide, they went to the outside and Daniels attempted a springboard splitlegged moonsault only for Suicide to hit a chest breaker out of the attempt. They spill back into the ring and exchange 2 counts. The Machine Guns come out and Sabin distracts the ref while Shelley hits a Code Breaker on Suicide. Daniels then reenters the ring and rolls him up for the win. Daniels wins!
Winner and NEW X-Division Champion - The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels...... Until..... he sees the replay and asks the ref to restart the match due to not wanting to win on that account.... the match continues...
They are given 5 more minutes. They start trading off roll ups and near falls. Daniels locks on a submission hold and then hits a DVD on him for the 2 count. Suicide regains control with a running dropkick. They trade blows until Daniels hits a rock bottom type move and misses a BME from the corner, Suicide then hits his finisher, a reverse backstabber with only 2 seconds left and does not get the 3 count. So due to the time running out, the match is a draw but Suicide is still champion.
Winner - Draw due to time limit up (Suicide retains the X-Division title)
TNA Knockouts Championship Match (Champion) Angelina Love v.s. Awesome Kong
First out is Awesome Kong, who made the awesome choice to begin following me on Twitter earlier this week @ twitter.com/RDLee (follow me!) She looks angry. Angelina is out next and she looks confident and nervous at the same time. This match is rather one sided with Kong kicking her ass the whole time until Angelina threw her into the steel post on the outside. She continued the assualt inside the ring on Kong, who basically brushed her off and overpowered her. Angelina attempted to leave and take the count out loss, until Sayid stood behind her and forced her back into the ring. Kong attempts a middle rope splash, only to miss, Angelina grabs a can of hair spray and sprays Kong in the face and rolls her up for the 3 count! After the match Kong destroys Love with not 1 but 2 Implant Busters to get her revenge for the cheap loss.
Winner and STILL TNA Knockouts Champion - Angelina Love
Samoa Joe v.s. Kevin Nash
It looks like Nash has finally got the memo and dyed his hair a dark grey again to lose about 5-10 years on his age. Good for him. Joe comes out wearing the black towel and with the orange colors in the background similiar to Taz's old gimmick. I do not like Joe's new looks, it makes him look even more generic than before. I liked the old school tights and no face paint look. Now he looks like a walking gimmick as opposed to the simple ass kicker he was before. Nash goes for the Jackknife early on only for Joe to counter into a anklelock variation. Joe begins the assualt with kicks and punches. They take it to the outside and Joe clobbers him with a chair. They reenter the ring and Joe hits a few high impact moves and a dropkick from the top rope. Nash is bleeding pretty badly and Joe is like a shark in water, he smells the end in sight. Nash hits a low blow and regains control with a sidewalk slam. Joe takes back over with a counter, hits a seaton splash and locks on the Kokina Clutch and Nash taps out. Very underwhelming, Joe is simply not what he once was. A shell of his former self in the ring, but everyone hits a snag in their career, I have faith he will become the best in TNA again one day. After the match, Joe throws the refs out and begins striking Nash on the head where he is busted open repeatedly with elbows and punches until more security comes in and breaks it up. Scott Steiner comes in and checks on Nash as Joe stands on the ramp looking on.
Winner by submission - Samoa Joe
Finals of the Team 3-D Tag Team Invitatational - Beer Money Inc. v.s. The British Invasion
Wait a second, who the hell is the British Invasion? Oh, nevermind that... It's Doug Williams and Brutus Magnus, I have no clue who their enforcer is though, Rob Terry? Team 3D come out to watch the match and join the announce booth. Why are the Brits holding briefcases? So many questions, and no answers. Out come a babyface Beer Money??? WTF is going on in TNA these days? Why on earth are these guys babyfaces now? I am lost... The match itself is actually pretty decent. I am familiar with Williams work from ROH and I think he is a great addition to the roster. Brutus is still a little green but he had potential. Beer Money are doing the Los Guerreros gimmick of being cool, cheating tweeners that people love. Brother Ray on commentary is comedy gold, he would be stupid not to join the commentary team when he retires. The British Invasion actually had quite a bit of offense, most of which was crisp and solid. Buisness picked up when Roode tagged in, Beer Money eventually hit their finisher on Williams for a 2 count, when Rob Terry pulled Earl Hebner out to break up the count, Hebner made him leave to the back. Williams grabbed a briefcase and attempted to use it on Storm, but Roode grabbed it and Storm hit him with a superkick for the 3 count and the win!
Winners and # 1 contenders for the TNA Tag Team Titles - Beer Money
TNA Legends Championship - (Champion) AJ Styles v.s. Booker T
Just in case AJ happens to read this, it' your old pal, RDLee, and just a reminder to you that I am still the Cyber Athlete and you will never, eeeeever beat me at any video game! Mark my words, so the sooner you realize that, the better! Booyah!
Anywho.... Why is the Legends title still around? It's pointless. It would have made more sense if it was defended against legends from the past. And apparently this match is an "I quit" match as well.... fabulous. I still consider AJ to be the very best in the world in the ring, he really is "Phenomenal" and I doubt that will change anytime soon, he may suck at Gears of War, but in the ring, he is untouchable. He is a TNA grand slam champion, having held every title in TNA. This is a very nice match up, they have styles that seem to mesh well with the high impact offense and variety of kicks. And now for the first time in the night I am losing my stream and getting severe lag.... And my stream returns in time for me to see Sharmell coming down to ringside. AJ hits a flying forearm for the top rope and then sets him up for the Styles Clash, Booker reverses and runs to the ropes who accidently hits Sharmell who was standing on the apron, he turns around and AJ clamps on a MMA style flying armbar as the ref holds the mic on Booker, then Jenna runs down to the ring and throws in the towel for Booker, so the winner is AJ Styles.
Winner and STILL TNA Legends Champion - AJ Styles
TNA World Heavyweight Championship - (Champion) Mick Foley v.s. Jeff Jarrett v.s. Sting v.s. Kurt Angle
The tag to this match is that if Sting loses, he retires. If Kurt loses, he is out of the Main Event Mafia. If Jarrett loses he is no longer the TNA owner. And if Mick loses he is no longer champion. WAY too many bullet points for a title match, what happened to the days where NOTHING else mattered but the world title? I had alot of problems with my feed during this match, Foley walked over to the announce table during the match and joined in while the other 3 men fought in the ring. The 3 way was actually very competitive. Angle and Sting worked together on Jarrett for a minute until Angle turned on him and blasted him with a german suplex. Angle then went out and flipped over the announce table onto Foley and got him back in the match. Back in the ring, all 4 men took each other down until Foley stood and applied Mr. Socko to both hands, he locked onto both Jarrett and Sting, He got a 2 count on both men until Angle snuck up behind and locked on the ankle lock until Sting hit him with a Scorpion Death Drop, only for the ref to get knocked down. Jarrett then hit Sting with a guitar and then Foley hit Jarrett with a chair, and then Angle hits top rope splash on Foley..... WOW, way to fast to keep up with.... Angle then applied a DOUBLE ANKLELOCK on both Jarrett and Sting, don't ask.... Foley stopped him from winning and took Sting to the outside, leaving Jeff and Kurt in the ring. Jarrett then hit a STROKE OFF THE TOP ONTO A CHAIR on Angle, only for Sting to sneak back in and steal the pinfall to shock the crowd. Since Sting pinned Angle and not Foley, he doesn't win the title but instead becomes the leader of the M.E.M. which is stupid as hell. Sting celebrates to end the show. What a good main event, best TNA match I have seen in a while from the top guys.
Winner and NEW Godfather of the Main Event Mafia - Sting
(Still TNA World Champion - Mick Foley)
