Plus, check back this Tuesday for a special...
JG's NXT Insanity!

Good evening everyone!  Yes, I do away and earn a living for a couple of months and the weekend after it finishes, I somehow end up getting stuck with a TNA show.  As it goes, this is something of a special and experimental night here on the website.  You may well have seen or heard that we are in the process of rewamping things around here.  Well, some of the Real Time coverage is also changing, and it's changing tonight.  Instead of me writing down every single little thing that happens and updating it every 15 minutes or so when a match is over or it's convenient to do so, Things will be a lot more brief, but a lot more updated, as I will be posting in a near "Stream of Consciousness" way, or to put it in 2010 parlance, like I'm posting on Twitter.  So if something grabs me, I'll post it and my thoughts, as well as what the match results are.  So really, keep refreshing your screen, because nowadays updates should be happening more rapidly than ever before!  For those of you who do want a more detailed review, then we will have a more detailed report up later by someone current ensconced in a dark room to do one.  That is to say there should be one, but I don't know right now who is doing it...

See you when the show starts!

Watching the pre-show now.  I remember when they used to put effort into these with actual stuff happening.  Now it's just sub-WWE hype videos...

That said, this song they're using to finish off the hype is pretty cool.  So far anyway.  But I've really become a "Rock with beats" guy.  Except for when it comes to Pendulum.  They suck.

Here we go!  Creepy start with Abyss talking about the pain he dishes out and how one day soon everyone would realise he did what he did and such because THEY told him to.  That would be the ECW guys.  Yep, Abyss has gone from following Hulk Hogan to Tommy Dreamer and Rhino...

The voiceover guy calls it the hottest PPV of the summer.  No.  Just No.

Tenay points out some of the dumb stuff on tonight.  No really, he focuses on the dumb stuff.

Doug Williams vs. Brian Kendrick in a "It's a good thing Williams can win this match without leaving the ground if he's scared of heights, isn't it?" Ultimate X/Submission match

Taz says Kendrick wants to win by Submission.  So he doesn't want to win by getting the X, and Williams shouldn't want to climb because he's apparently scared.  SO WHY IS THIS AN ULTIMATE X MATCH?!?!?!

Tenay has also claimed that William is AGORAPHOBIC!  That's not heights, you tool!

Lots of mat work early, looking for submissions.  You know, because they want a submission match.

I don't think Williams has tried the same submission twice yet.  Kendrick clearly only has the Cobra Clutch.

For a guy who doesn't like heights, Williams sure does climb the trussing after Kendrick easily...

Williams has gotten a pair of climbing gloves out of his crotch.  Certainly getting him along the cables quickly.  Kendrick cuts him off and they both take a s**ty landing.

After they tumble, Williams chokes Kendrick out.  And Tenay misses an arm drop and says the third was the second.

Nice submission match.  AWFUL Ultimate X match.  It was only there for the one spot and they didn't even get that close to winning that way.

WINNER & STILL X CHAMPION:  DOUGLAS WILLIAMS

Tenay and Taz are talking about the three challengers for RVD's title.  Apparently any one of them could win the title tonight.

Christy with Brother Ray.  He insults her.  Well, she is a female interviewer in TNA.  It's the thing.  Apparently, Christy's Playboy was a failure just like Jesse Neal is in general.  Ray says that D-Von isn't nothing without him.  Hey, he could preach again...

Non-sensical Triple Threat hype video.  The match is non-sensical, not the video.

Brother Ray vs. Jesse Neal vs. Brother Devon in a "At least when they did the silly Legacy 3-way match, they teased dissention between all 3..." match

Ray is out first and he disappears behind the set.  WHICH IS LIT FROM BEHIND SO WE SEE HIS BIG FAT SHADOW!

But yes, Brother Ray managed to sneak attack Jesse as he came out...

We get no D-von.  Cameras reveal that D-Von is locked in the dressing room.  D-Von wants someone to open the door.  The cameraman does NOTHING...

Jesse is taking a beating right now.  I can still assume that the cameraman has been useless in letting D-Von out.

Here come ECW...

This allows Jesse to spear Ray for 2.  But Ray's back in chagre.

ECW in the audeince?  Hey, grab a chair...

Shannon Moore runs out and distracts the ref leaving Jesse open to take the chairshot that the ref saw Ray take.  Even Taz wonders how the ref didn't hear it.

Here comes D-Von!

He teases siding with Rey, but instead, we have a Team 3D split.  Jesse goes for Ray but spears D-von when Ray manages to move fast enough.  Ray hits Jesse with a Bubba Bomb for the win.

Match wasn't all that much.  And indeed the crowd cares so much that everyone is looking away form the ring and chanting "ECW" at the ECW guys.

WINNER:  BROTHER RAY

The women are next.

They do a tale of the tape and one of the points is, verbatim, "Love Rayne O'er Me".  Sweet Jesus...

Madison Rayne vs. Angelina Love in a "Hey, at least Angelina knew in advance that this was a Title vs. Career match..." Knockouts Title vs. Career match

Both women wiggle their asses on the middle rope as they get in the ring.  Yeah, this used to be taken seriously this division...

Madison is wearing skin coloured clothing.  I keep looking up and think she's naked...

Madison gets a chair, but Angelina superkicks it into her face.  Not a DQ...

A person turns up on a motorbike, and after being distracted they run Angelina into the post.  Andrew Thomas gets shoved and calls for the DQ.

WINNER BY DQ:  ANGELINA LOVE

The ref claims it was by The Beautiful People, so it's announced, as per the stips, that Angelina is also champion

WINNER BY DQ & NEW CHAMPION:  ANGELINA LOVE

Not helping her case much, Madison leaves with the person on the bike.  I bet it was Tara.  it should be noted that they had a helmet on and never revealed their face.

One of our forum users is of the belief that if this match wasn't good, then TNA was done.  Well, TNA's done.

Christy is interviewing Mr. Anderson.
He insults her.  Well, she is a female interviewer in TNA.  It's the thing.  But apparently he was joking.  He does a fairly crappy promo talking about butt cheeks.  Anderson is a butt cheek.

Please.  Someone.  Make this promo end.

AJ Styles & Kaz vs. ??? in a "How can I make a joke here if I don't know what the team is?" match

And the mystery team is...  ROB TERRY & SAMOA JOE!  Yay?

Kaz & Styles pretty much just done a bottom whoopie.

Kaz is put in to start and he takes a beating.

Come to mention it, have the ECW guys just left?  You'd think they'd stay for the whole show.  They were late neough as it is.

A Rob Terry assisted suicide dive by Joe KILLS Kaz & Styles.  First awesome thing of the night.  First "TNA" chant I've cared to notice.

The Fortune guys manage to take over on Joe though.

AJ wants a Styles Clash on Joe.  Yeah, not happening.

Rob Terry gets the hot tag and the crowd go MILD.  No seriously, they shut right the hell up.

Joe looks for the Musclebuster, but Desmond Wolfe cuts him off.  The pair of them fight.  No DQ given.  Wolfe gets in the ring and taken out by Big Rob.  However, AJ & Kaz team up to hit moves on Terry with AJ hitting his babyface springboard 450 Splash for the win.

WINNERS:  AJ STYLES & KAZ

Wolfe shakes hands with AJ and Kaz like a pussy.  They leave and Joe appears behind Wolfe.  One Musclebuster later and Wolfe is a complete patsy.

Christy is interviewing Abyss.  He insults her.  Well, she is a female interviewer in TNA.  It's the thing.  He talks about his board with nails in it (which he calls his "girl") and how "they" came up with it for him.  And when the time was right "they" were taking over.

Tenay and Taz talk about the illegality of Abyss board in tonight's match, even though they just made it a focal point, before talking about Morgan & Hernandez.  They act as if they were busom buddies from back in the day the way they talk about Morgan's turning on Super Mex.

Matt Morgan vs. Hernandez in a "Yeah, because their previous encounters have had tons of interference that they need to keep away..." Steel Cage match

Hernandez hits some splashes to Morgan on the cage wall until he puts his head down and Morgan moves.  Doh!

First blood of the night on Hernandez.  Kinda surprised it took this long.

Morgan keeps jaw jacking with the crowd instead of leaving.  Just get a move on...

Morgan has literally one foot out of the cage and decides to go back in for more.  couldn't he just win first and then launch a post-match attack?

Herny's head is raked into the cage wall, drawing more blood, which Morgan shows off.

Hernandez makes a comeback, but the Border Toss is an epic failure.

Another Border Toss.  Another fail.

Hernandez goes up to the top of the cage and goes for a splash, but guess what...  Fail.  Morgan rolled out the way.

And now Morgan has a pair of handcuffs from a T-shirt he brought with him to the ring.

And in a sense of silliness, Hernandez is cuffed rright by the door.

Hernandez, as it goes, just rips the cuffs off the cage and hits a suicide dive through the cage door to win it while Morgan was climbing over the top.

WINNER:  HERNANDEZ

We go to a replay of most of the big spots as if it were a classic.  It wasn't.  It was fine, but not great.

Christy is interviewing Ric Flair.
He insults her.  Well, she is a female interviewer in TNA.  It's the thing.  Flair said he thought she was blonde when she said Lethal might win.  Flair cuts a promo, once again calling himself a God.  He then insinuates that after the match, Lethal will be running back to his momma's booby while he'll be banging women for around an hour.  Good promo actually.

The announcers talk about the upcoming match.  A long discussion at that.  Some nice analysis by Taz.

Ric Flair vs. Jay Lethal in a "And to think, he spent all this time as Savage, and they never had a Savage vs. Lethal match..." match

Lethal comes out first and is wearing a Red & Yellow combo in honour of Hogan, who made the match.  PICK SOMEONE TO HONOUR AND STICK WITH IT LETHAL!

If nothing else, from this point on, the rest of the card should be pretty damn good.  Well, probably not the main event unless they take Anderson & Abyss out right away, but still, I think my point should stand.

Flair with chops and a WHOOOO sign in the background.  For once in their lives, the TNA production staff get a camera shot right..

Superplex off the top.  I'm almost surprised that Flair didn't turn into dust on impact.

Figure Four on Lethal right in the middle of the ring after working the leg.  Flair holds the ropes until the ref catches him.  Kinda dumb given that Lethal was going nowhere...

Well, in a match between Ric Flair and a Ric Flair wannabe, someone's ass was being shown off a sunset flip attempt.  And there was Ric's...

So know Lethal is working the leg...  And there's the Figure Four on Flair...

HOLY CRAP!  FLAIR TAPS OUT TO HIS OWN MOVE!

WINNER:  JAY LETHAL

Lethal celebrates with the crowd.  He gets a mic and tells his mom that he did it.  If you were hoping for some sort of flair & Lethal respect moment, well, I'm sorry for you.

Christy is interviewing Jeff Hardy.
He insults her.  Actually, HE DOESN'T!  He just yells stuff in the mic like a moron.

The Motor City Machine Guns vs. Beer Money ina "I know.  The MCMG have a title match at long last.  No, you're not dreaming..." match TNA Tag Team Titles

I want James Storm's Beer Money cowboy hat.

Apologies if I don't post much during this.  Me thinks I'm gonna be enjoying it too much.

Taz just tried to be like Matt Striker and make a highly obscure reference.  He failed epically.

BEER!  MONEY!

Taz just said a gutbuster was a great move this late in the match.  Nice to know there can't be more than a few minutes left...

Most convaluted hot tag ever.

Sabin just punted Storm's head off.  Almost literally.  Shame he was on the outside at the time and Roode is the legal man.

Nice series of dives on each other.  Great, in fact.

First notable "This Is Awesome" chant of the night.  I agree.

Ref gets blinded by beer and the MCMG pick up a 2.999999 count as Hebner falls in the ring to make the count.

A 2.999999 count for Roode now.

OH F**K THIS!  One member of Beer money pinned an MCMG guy and was counted down by Earl while the other MCMG guy pinned Storm, counted by Brian Hebner and they count a simultaneous three count.

Match is ruled to restart!  Beer Money attack, but MCMG GET THE UPPERHAND AND PICK UP THE WIN AND TAG TEAM TITLES!!!

WINNERS & NEW CHAMPIONS:  THE MCMG!!!

The restart angle was dumb, but right now, I'll take it since the MCMG are FINALLY the champions!  Best match of the night by a mile, even with that false finish.

Angle/Pope hype video.  Yeah, they pretty much gave the MCMG 15/20 seconds of celebration.

Kurt Angle vs. D'Angelo Dinero in a "Well, nice to know there will be one awesome match on this show..." match

Have to say, I love it when Taz does his "Well, here comes the Pope!" bit.  I mean, I watched the Lesnar/Carwin match and immediately went "Well, here comes the pain" when I saw Lesnar come out...

Nice show of respect by Pope who holds the ropes open for Anjgle as he gets back in the ring.  That said, dumping Angle out in the first place probably won't have helped make friends with him.

Kurt puts on an ankle lock.  Such a Jack Swagger wannabe...

Couple of nice pinning reversals but Angle gets the ankle again and Pope taps.

WINNER:  KURT ANGLE

AWESOME match.  Just great stuff.  But then again, it was to be expected.

Christy is interviewing RVD.  He doesn't insult her either.  Well, at least her night picked up in the end.  He does however make a focal point of Abyss's illegal board, saying he's sticking it Abyss's ass.

Main event is next!

Rob Van Dam vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Abyss in a "What?  Two Fatal Four Way Title matches in one month wasn't enough???" match for the TNA World Title

Well, if this was an entrance music contest, then Abyss would win, because the other songs blow monkey chunks.

Gang attack on Abyss to start.

Taz doesn't like the idea of "Strange bedfellows".  Take that for what you will.

Four way Tower Of Doom.  RVD gets "the worst" of it.

Ouch.  Anderson get Swanton bombed.  Abyss hits Hardy with a chokeslam than lands him on Anderson.  RVD hits a Five-Star on Abyss's pin, and pins Anderson himself for the win.

WINNER & STILL CHAMPION:  RVD

Finish was out of nowhere really.  it didn't build to it much.  Alright match.  Nothing spectacular.

After the match, Abyss attacked RVD and grabbed his nail board, but missed a swing on RVD and ripped up the ring mat as the show ended.

Advert for Hard Justice, which really does sound like an event for gentlemen of a homosexual persuasion.  However, TNA claim this is their Hardcore PPV.  You know, like the other 11 aren't.

Now, you're hardly going to believe this, but...

I thought this was a pretty good show.  Nothing was complete turdburgers.  The worst it got was "Pfft..." and that was early on.  The middle section of the Flair/Lethal-tag titles-Angle/Pope matches made this a good show.  Best show I've seen from TNA in a long time anyway.

But anyhoo, it's hitting 4am and so I'm outta here!
