RDLee's Monday Night Raw Real-Time Coverage - Will The NXT Season One Rookies (Minus Daniel Bryan) Make Another Statement Tonight?

Welcome to RDLee's real-time coverage for WWE Monday Night RAW. I'll do my best to fill the big shoes left behind by Miss Mallory (not that I'm saying she has big feet.) I am confident that you will respect my style and hopefully give me some feedback when I steer off in the wrong direction. I am excited and now hopefully you are too so let's get it started it here!

We began tonight's show with Wade Barrett in the winner. He introduced himself to the crowd. He said Bret Hart demanded that he come out here tonight and apologize for their actions from last week. He invited the rest of the rookies out to the ring to apologize all together. They came thru the crowd all wearing the NXT armbands again. Daniel Bryan was missing and the crowd chanted for him. The whole ringside crew left while they entered the ring. Wade asked each of the rookies to apologize, they each said no in different ways. Michael Tarver got the most heat. Darren Young botched his only line which was hilarious. Barrett said they were treated like animals in NXT and they responded by acting like animals. He went into great detail about how WWE managment made them all look like fools in the competition.

Bret Hart's music hit and he came out to talk to the rookies. The crowd exploded. He said they were all cowards for the 8 on 1 attack. Wade Barrett addressed that Daniel Bryan had some remorse for what happened so they removed him from the group. Nice touch. Bret said that John Cena will still be involved in the Fatal Four Way title match. Wade said he didn't care and that they would stay in the ring until there problems were addressed. David Otunga said they all wanted WWE contracts, first class travel and their own dressing rooms. If Bret failed to comply then what happened last week would only be the beginning. Bret Hart said that he would NOT sign any of them to a contract. He finished by telling Barrett that his guarenteed title match no longer could be cashed in because he was FIRED! Bret said "WWF" again instead of "WWE" and then told them all to get out the ring before he had the police take them out. Great heat from the crowd and overall a fun opening segment that addressed everything including Bryan's release.

Fatal Four Way United States Championship Match

R-Truth (US champ) v.s. John Morrison v.s. Zack Ryder v.s. The Miz

This is a very cool match. I am surprised that they included Ryder but I guess someone will need to take the loss without losing heat. This should have been saved for the PPV if you asked me. Why give away a fatal four way free when the entire concept of the show is supposed to be built on it? Funny moment when Zack went for a suicide dive on the outside to Truth and Miz but they moved out of the way and he faceplanted on the ground.

My stream went out and I just realized that I forgot to eat supper tonight. I am now really hungry but that is expected when you are the son of future WWE Hall of Famer, Bastion Booger. I don't know why I am writing about it here but I figured it would help me realize that my normal Monday night habits are going to need changing in the future. The feed came back on just in time for me to catch the R-Truth hitting Morrison with a sweet looking suplex into a stunner. Ryder hit the Rough Rider on Truth but Morrison threw him out of the ring. John hit Starship Pain on Truth but got tossed out of the ring too by the Miz who stole the pinfall on Truth to win the United States title again! Too bad Daniel Bryan isn't here to take that belt off him eventually.

Winner and NEW United States Champion: The Miz

Josh Matthews caught Randy Orton backstage and asked him about his shoulder injury. Orton said that anything could happen in that match. He said as far as his shoulder is concerned just wait, watch, and see in his match with Sheamus. Matthews then asked him what his thoughts are on the NXT attack from last week. Orton said part of him respects what they did but he thinks they are punks and got off lucky by getting kicked out of the WWE. I predict that this sets up the NXT attack on Orton and Sheamus for later tonight during the main event.

Next we caught the guest host Mark something from Royal Pains talking to the Bella Twins. He told them they were cute and that they should be on the show. Ted Dibiase and Virgil came in to bribe him. He offered a brand new car waiting for him if he made him guest co-host. Mark said no because he had intergrity. Big Show walked in behind the heels while Mark got his confidence back and started to run down TD2 since he knew Big Show had his back. Show issued a challenge to Dibiase and Virgil for a tag team match against him and Mark. Ted said okay and left. Mark said he wasn't a wrestler in high school but was actually an ice skater. He jumped into Big Show's arms in front of the Bella's which they made funny faces towards him to end the segment.

-

Chris Jericho v.s. Evan Bourne

Let's see if they follow up on Bourne's recent momentum and give him an impressive showing against Jericho. The crowd really loves Evan who I truly believe could be the next Rey Mysterio if the cards are played right. Jericho nailed a Codebreaker but Evan KICKED OUT! Jericho began to beat the crap out of him until the ref called for the bell. When Chris started jaw jacking with the ref Evan regained his composure and landed a wicked kick to the head of Jericho. He followed it up with a breathtaking Shooting Star Press to please the crowd. Not exactly the best way to get someone over but I see why they did it. There's really not alot more anyone could say about this match. It seemed to be a time filler which is odd considering the caliber of the men involved in the match. Maybe the wonky finish will be the start of a Bourne/Jericho fued. That would be great.

Winner by DQ: Evan Bourne

John Cena came out to talk about the NXT attack from last week's RAW. He looked very serious tonight. He didn't seem to be in a good mood and rightfully so. He said he was given the night off but he thanks Bret Hart for the opportunity to take care of business and for not giving the NXT guys what they demanded. Cena said that he believed in the old saying "Desperate times, call for desperate measures" He believed that the rookies were desperate and they did what they had to do. Cena said that they destroyed the WWE ring which the guys in the back would now have their head on a platter should they decide to try that crap again. He then invited them to come back out and finish this and said he would NOT press charges if they did. Just then the rookies came running out thru the crowd and into the ring. Suddenly a bunch of the RAW guys including Jerry Lawler, Mark Henry, Evan Bourne, R-Truth, Santino, William Regal, Randy Orton, Edge, and even Sheamus came out to even the odds and run the rookies off. GREAT SEGMENT that reminded me a bit of the NWO invasion when the WCW guys stood united against them on occasion. I still stand by my thoughts that it would have helped to have Daniel Bryan still involved if anything else just to increase the look of the gangs size. Cena called them Radicals and I pray that they don't call them that going forward. We have already had some Radicals in the past and looked how that worked out in the end.

Eve Torres (WWE Diva's Champ) and Gail Kim v.s. Maryse and Alicia Fox

This is the only downside of reviewing RAW for me, I am stuck watching this shit. Although Gail, Eve and Maryse aren't that bad when I think about it. Like most fans, I haven't been into any diva's matches since the Trish Stratus and Lita era. Maryse is a great heel and would have flourished during the attittude era. Alicia Fox took the loss after Eve planted her with a Twisting Neckbreaker that reminded me of Perry Saturn's old finisher the "3 Handled Moss Covered Family Credenza". That's all I've got to say about this match.

Winners: Eve Torres and Gail Kim

Big Show and Mark "The Main Event" Feurenstein v.s. Ted Dibiase and Virgil

This is pathetic. Who in the blue hell is this guy? He is so lame. At least Virgil looks bad ass in his skin tight muscle shirt. I almost want to turn this off like I have been doing for the past few years when something stupid goes on but I won't if only for all my pretend WWI fans. Big Show dominated Teddy until he tagged in Virgil who Show tossed around too. When Virgil tried to escape Mark grabbed him and threw him back in the ring. Virgil bumped like he hasn't in years tonight. Big Show planted him with a Chokeslam and then tagged in Mark who hit a retarded looking Worm to pick up the win. This was a Royal Pain in my ass to be honest. After the match Ted put a hundred dollar bill in poor Virgil's mouth as he layed there out cold and yelled "This is for my dad" at him. He went back in the ring and took the money back out his mouth, wiped it off and kept it instead. I hope this doesn't mean they release Virgil this week because losing on RAW sure beats going back to this huh?

Winners: Big Show and The guy from Royal Pains.

-

Santino v.s. William Regal

Vladimir Kozlov is the special guest referee. Another filler on a night where NXT seems to be the only thing that matters once again. I hope this isn't the trend in my RAW real timing future. Santino rolled Regal up after some comedy spots. Kozlov fast counted the pinfall.

Winner: Santino

Bret Hart then suddenly came out with the entire RAW roster on the ramp to act as security for the main event tag team match. He said that "History wouldn't repeat itself this week" I wonder if the NXT rookies will still attack this week now? I guess we'll find out next!

-

Edge and Sheamus v.s. John Cena and Randy Orton

Standard tag team match only overshadowed by the RAW roster standing guard for them. Both teams had decent chemistry and seemed to see the bigger picture as far as putting their differences aside for one night against both each other and the NXT rookies earlier in the night. Orton's shoulder seemed to be okay enough for him to compete but he still showed sporadic signs of pain. Cena worked the majority of the match for his team. Orton was finally tagged in and took Sheamus out with his signature moves much to he delight of the crowd. Edge tried to sneak in from behind and attack him but Orton caught him with an RKO out of nowhere. Sheamus planted Orton with the Irish Curse backbreaker when he turned around and began working on his injured shoulder.

Suddenly the lights went dim and our attention turned to the titantron only for us to see the NXT rookies backstage beating on RAW general manager Bret Hart. They dragged him around and threw him into a limo that began crashing around into all the other cars in the parking lot. After banging him around a little they pulled him out and placed him on the ground with Wade Barrett yelling at him as the show went off the air. Why would Bret go backstage alone when he had all the help he needed on the ramp? Eh, I guess it was unpredictible at the very least and better than most of the RAW endings in recent memory.

Thanks for joining me tonight and please come back next week for another RAW real-time here on World Wrestling Insanity. Have a good week and stay classy!
