RDLee's WWE Monday Night Raw Results - Slammy Awards 2011 Edition

By RDLee Dec 12, 2011 - 7:50 PM print

First Slammy award was handed out by Booker T and Hornswoggle. It was for the "Tell Me I Didn't Just See That" award. They hyped up Booker's IC title match at TLC with Cody Rhodes a little.

Nominees were: Miz dressed as Rock attacking Cena, The JR/Cole dance off, Santino almost winning 2011 Royal Rumble, and R-Truth getting screwed out of a win on pay per view by a Little Jimmy.

The winner: Jim Ross

JR came out to accept as the crowd chanted for him. Michael Cole interupted and got in the ring to bitch about the development. Booker called Cole a loser and told him that Ross could beat him right now in a free style rap off.

Cole went first and told us he listened to Eminem. This is stupid. Cole did a dorky rap and Ross did an even worse one if you could imagine. Booker told us that the winner was Good Ol' JR.

What an awful start to a 3 hour show. They finished off the horrible segment with Booker T and Ross doing spinaroonies.

-

Mick Foley and Ted Dibiase presented the next award which was for "Holy Shit Moment of the Year".

The nominees were: Sheamus powerbombing Sin Cara through a ladder, Randy Orton RKOing Christian on the steel steps, Big Show/Mark Henry ring explosion, and Evan Bourne hitting an Air Bourne off a ladder.

The winner: Big Show

Show came out to accept and thanked the academy. Told us that he taught Henry a lesson over the last month. He said Mark was gun shy now. Big Show walked to the ring for a match now.

-

Big Show v.s. Wade Barrett

Barrett came out with a mic in hand to warn Show that if he were to win the title from Henry at TLC that the Barrett Barrage would be coming after him next. They teased using a table outside the ring but Show smashing through it with his arms. Back in the ring, Wade grabbed a chair and got himself disqualified.

Winner by DQ: Big Show

-

Road Dogg came out next wearing a DX t-shirt and did his old New Age Outlaw routine to a good reaction. Wish Billy Gunn was with him though. The award was for the "Pipe Bomb of the Year".

Among the Nominees were: R-Truth for his Little Jimmy content, CM Punk for his pipe bombs, Booker T for his wacky commentary, Cole for his bashing of Ross, The Rock for verbally berating Cena, Ryder for ZTLIS, Santino for being a nut and a few more that I missed. A lot to keep up with.

The winner: CM Punk

Punk came out to accept his slammy. He was carrying a dummy doll of Johnny Ace with him complete with Dynamic Dude's attire and blonde mullet. The crowd gave Punk some love. He made fun of John by pointing out that he had no balls. Punk gave us a funny video tribute to Johnny.

-

Next we had Lita, fresh out of jail, come out and present an award for "Divalicous Moment of the Year". She was happy that the crowd remembered her.

The nominees were: Natalya using the double sharpshooter, Kelly Kelly winning the Diva's title for the first time, Kharma's debut, and Beth Phoenix hitting the top rope Glam Slam on Eve.

The winner: Kelly Kelly

Kelly came out and was followed by Pin Up Strong who took her trophy away. Kelly slapped Beth and grabbed her award back as Lita stood alongside Kelly to possibly provide back up if it went any further.

-

Santino Marella and The Bella Twins presented the award for "O.M.G. Moment of the Year" and Santino botched the title of the award saying out OMG instead of O.M.G.

The nominees were: HHH tombstones Undertaker at Wrestlemania, Rock Bottom on Cena at Wrestlemania, The Superstars walk out on Raw, and Punk wins the WWE title in Chicago.

The winner: Triple H and Undertaker

Hunter came out with a sledgehammer in hand, ignored his Slammy win, and headed straight to the ring. Instead of talking about Nash first, he spoke about how he walked out of WM on his own, unlike the Undertaker. Here they are nine months later and he's still standing while Taker is gone. Next he moved onto the Nash situation. He rambled on about how he was right and that Nash would be done when he gets his hands on him at TLC.

-

David Otunga and WWE Hall of Famer, Tony Atlas presented the award for "Trending Star of the Year". Atlas started doing his laugh until Otunga got fed up with it and told him to stop. Tony told David he was laughing at him as Otunga took a sip from his signature coffee mug.

The nominees were: Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, Zack Ryder, and Daniel Bryan. The winner will be announced after a fatal four way between these four men goes down starting right now.

-

Zack Ryder v.s. Dolph Ziggler v.s. Cody Rhodes v.s. Daniel Bryan

This is a pretty big match for a free Raw show. Actually the rules were explained and they are that the first one of these guys to trend during the match on Twitter is the Slammy winner in that catagory. The heels and the faces paired off against each other mid-match. Dolph and Cody double teamed Bryan for a minute but then turned against each other when deciding who was going to take the pin.

After a long, back and forth battle, it was a double suplex that layed all four men out for a minute. After exchanging finishers it was Ziggler with the Zig Zag on Bryan that picked the Hashtag Heel up a win. After the match, Ryder was announced as winner of the Slammy for "Trending Star of the Year" and Ziggler hit Zack with a Zig Zag and left him laying out.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

-

Christian, on crutches and in a neck sling, came out to present the "Game Changer of the Year" award. He gave himself the "Couragous Moment of the Year" award for showing up tonight even though he was injured. He bitched about how he wasn't on the ballot for the "Superstar of the Year" award even though he won the World Heavyweight title twice this year.

The nominees were: Mr. McMahon being fired, Edge retiring prematurely, Kevin Nash making his surprise return, The Rock and John Cena's Wrestlemania 28 challenge.

The winners: John Cena and The Rock

Cena came out to accept the award as the crowd was mixed for him. John introduced the Rock and the crowd went nuts. They began to boo once they realized it was just a joke since he obviously wasn't there. Cena introduced a live via satellite clip, but this was a second fake out as there was no video. Cena finished by saying their match would be the biggest in Wrestlemania history.

-

Alberto Del Rio and The Miz v.s. Randy Orton and CM Punk

All four of these men are in the running for the "Superstar of the Year" slammy award. Miz hit a DDT early on in the match and picked up a near fall. Miz reversed a GTS into a backbreaker and then tagged in Del Rio. Wade Barrett came out of nowhere and yanked Orton off the apron as Punk went for a second GTS that Miz reversed into a Skull Crushing Finale to win for his team. After the match the heels double teamed Punk by hitting him with a ladder. Miz talked trash to Punk on the microphone, essentially telling him that one of them would be the WWE champion at TLC.

Winners: The Miz and Alberto Del Rio

-

Vickie Guerrero and Goldust introduced the award for "A-Lister of the Year". Goldust told Vickie that she was a winner tonight for wearing more make up than him. Nice burn by the golden one.

Nominees were: The Muppets, Snooki, Hugh Jackman, and Cee-Lo Green.

Winner is: Snooki

She accepted via a video package. A basic thanks promo. She wished Zack Ryder good luck in his United States title match at TLC. Woo Woo Woo You Know It.

-

Sheamus v.s. Jinder Mahal

Mahal came out babbling in another language on the microphone. As soon as he got in the ring Sheamus hit him with the Brogue Kick and left him laying. As a result, there was no match after all.

No Contest

-

Rey Mysterio came out to present the award for "Superstar of the Year".

The nominees are: The Miz, Randy Orton, CM Punk, Mark Henry John Cena and Alberto Del Rio

The winner: CM Punk

Punk was unable to come out due to his beating from earlier so Johnny Ace came out for him and accepted the award on behalf of him. After this we saw a new 1-12-2012 video. This one ended with the word "control" on screen.

-

Mark Henry v.s. John Cena

I would have never thought Mark Henry would have reinvented himself as well as he did this year. Seems like the weight loss was the start of his push. Good for him, he is a good guy from all accounts and certainly deserves this success. This was the type of match you would expect from these two. Slow, non-technical, sluggish and power moves only.

Henry put Cena in the bear hug and nearly won the match but as always, John found his way out. Henry hit the World's Strongest Slam and suddenly the lights went out. Kane's old music hit and he came out with a new look and mask on. Mark ran off but Kane hit the chokeslam on Cena to end the show. Very cool ending for once after such a long time.

No Contest
