RDLee's WWE Monday Night Raw Report - Will The Nexus Continue Their Destuction?
By RDLee
Jul 5, 2010 - 8:47 PM
The Nexus began the show in the ring. Wade Barrett talked about how he can't reveal why they attacked everyone but he guarentees that it is all part of a bigger picture. Skip Sheffield took the mic and said that what they did to the legends last week was for fun. The General Manager beeped in and said that the Nexus punishment will be that none of them can compete for a title until further notice. He also said that the ban on not being able to touch the WWE superstars and vice versa has been lifted.
John Cena's music hit and he came out to the stage. The Nexus looked ready for a fight. Cena took something out of his pocket and smelled it which was odd. John summoned the babyfaces of the Raw locker room to go after the Nexus but suddenly the heels from the locker room attacked them from behind thus enabling the Nexus to run away unharmed. Cena and the babyfaces cleared the ring and then John scoulded them for not taking out the Nexus while they could. Sheamus said that they had no problems with Nexus since they only seem to attack John Cena.
Randy Orton took the mic and stated that the Nexus was a major threat and he demanded they fight 7 on 7. The GM buzzed in and stated that the 8 guys involved in the Money In The Bank match will be in action and that they could not fight right now. He also demanded that Cena shake Wade Barrett's hand tonight and call a truce. He finished by saying "That's the bottom line, because the GM said so!" which could mean that Stone Cold Steve Austin is the GM? Or it could just be a way of fooling us all so they can bring in someone else as a surprise.

John Morrison v.s. Ted Dibiase (w/Maryse)
I still think that Virgil even in his current state brought more use to Teddy's character. Maryse is cool and all but really didn't need to be apart of this pairing. Maryse took a seat with the announcers. She addressed that she was not a gold digger but was in love with Ted. She said that her and Teddy both love money and could help the economy if they wanted to. She answered a phone call during the match and refused to tell them who it was. She put John Morrison's coat on and went up to the ring apron to distract him and the ref. Ted was able to plant Morrison with Dream Street to pick up the three count. The match was good, nothing too special or noteworthy in my book though.
Winner: Ted Dibiase

Vladimir Kozlov and Sanitno were spotted walking backstage. Santino was excited about their upcoming debut as a tag team tonight. Kozlov told him that if they lost he would pound his face.
-
Santio and Kozlov v.s. William Regal and The Great Khali
Regal got on the mic before the match and said that they made an enemy out of his last week and he used his gift of gab and got himself a monster tag team partner. Santino provided the comedy in the match by showcasing his karate kicks. Regal was not amused and beat him down until Santino tagged in Kozlov who quickly hit his Iron Curtain finisher to pick up the win for his team. Khali didn't do shit. After the match Khali hit Regal with the big overhand chop to the skull which pleased the crowd.
Winners: Kozlov and Santino

Backstage we had an interview with Arn Anderson regarding last weeks attack from the Nexus. Arn said that Ricky Steamboat's injuries are bad. Sheamus walked up from behind and ran down Arn who responded by explaining the Nexus situation by almost comparing it to the NWO invasion in a sense. He told him he better join forces with the other RAW guys before the Nexus takes over the brand and leaves him on the sidelines. Sheamus blew him off while smirking and said that he was the WWE Champion and didn't need any help or advice.

R-Truth v.s. The Miz
Miz came out and mocked Truth again by singing his song and finishing with "The Miz" instead of "What's Up". Truth seemed entertained by him. Miz got in the ring and began to say "He's Awesome" only to cheap shot Truth and clobber him with the microphone. Miz threw him out side and began beating and injuring his left arm while the crowd chanted "R-Truth". I wonder if they are doing an injury angle to free up Truth's spot in the MITB ladder match? The Miz followed him and continued to mock him while he was helped out of the ringside area.

Cutting Edge segment with guests Evan Bourne and Chris Jericho. Edge got a massive babyface pop when he came out and acknowledged it with a smile. Edge addressed the Nexus attack and said why make 7 enemies when he can make 7 allies. He offered his services to the Nexus and said he would be their leader. He then moved on to talking about the MITB match and stated that everyone who wins the briefcase has become champion. Chris Jericho came out and ran Edge down about how he should be the Nexus leader since he was the one who helped groom Wade Barrett. They began arguing about the MITB match until Edge attacked him. Jericho recovered and locked him in the Walls of Jericho until Evan Bourne arrived and took them out with a springboard knee. They went after Bourne who bailed from the ring before he got hurt.
The General Manager buzzed in and said if the crowd wanted action to "Give him a Hell Yeah" Then he set up the following match:
-
Edge and Chris Jericho v.s. Evan Bourne and Randy Orton
So it seems obvious now that Stone Cold is not the general manager. It seems like they are simply trying to fool us. I am a big fan of Austin but I would be a little disappointed if they gave the GM surprise away so soon. Unless this would have lead to some kind of one off match at next years Wrestlemania then I am not really wanting to see a PG rated Stone Cold right now. I hope it turns out to be Bryan Danielson. Actually now that I think about it, It's probably Jim Ross! This was a good back and forth match with several false finishes. Bourne held his own and looked like a star. Edge speared Jericho and walked out on him leading to Bourne to hit the Shooting Star Press for the win. Orton RKO'ed Evan after the match to make a statement for the MITB match.
Winners: Evan Bourne and Randy Orton

David Otunga, Heath Slater, and Michael Tarver approached Randy Orton backstage and apologized to him on behalf of the Nexus for costing him his title opportunity at Fatal Four Way. They said that they promised not to interfere in the MITB ladder match if all goes well tonight with Barrett and Cena. They said they couldn't make the same promise for the WWE title match. If Orton didn't join Cena in his effort against them they would soften up the winner of the cage match if he caught their drift. Orton said that he heard what they said and told them to get out of his face.
Next we saw Josh Matthews announce that the GM has made a Unified tag team title match for the Money in the Bank PPV. It will be the Uso's v.s. the Hart Dynasty. They babbled on about who was who, No one cared. After they left Alicia Fox came in the scene and asked why she hasn't been interviewed yet despite winning the Diva's title two weeks ago. She said her win was no fluke and she would prove it tonight by beating former champ Eve Torres.
-
Eve v.s. Alicia Fox
Fox faked an ankle injury and then caught Eve with a Scissor's Kick to pick up the win. I have nothing else to say about this match.
Winner: Alicia Fox

Wade Barrett came out to the ring and said that everything The Nexus has done has been for a bigger purpose he could not reveal. He told Cena to come out so he can shake his hand like a man. Cena came out and was cautious in looking around on his way to the ring in case of any sneak attacks. Barrett apologized and said that Cena was not in their future plans. He wants to forget about the past and move on. He said the Nexus 7 will be around for a long time so he can either forgive and forget or they can make his life a living hell. Cena confirmed if Barrett would promise that there would be no more attacks. Cena then began making lames jokes and ruining the tension like he normally does. He then said he would not shake his hand because his goal was to take Nexus out. Barrett said he had one more chance or he would face severe consequences. Cena went for a Attitude Adjustment as the other Nexus members charged the ring and began beating down Cena until the RAW locker room including Goldust (I guess Canadian Bulldog was right about him not knowing what brand he is on) saved him and ran off the invaders.
The GM buzzed in and said that if things didn't stop now there would be consequences. Cena didn't listen and locked in a brutal STFU on Darren Young until the GM chimed in again and said that since he didn't listen he would now have to face the entire Nexus in a 7 on 1 handicapped match next week on RAW. The white Cena beat the crap out of the black Cena by throwing the steel steps at him and tossing him into the announce table as the show ended much to the delight of the crowd. See you next week folks!
