RDLee's Monday Night Raw Results - Can "The Other Guys" Get Summerslam's Name Right?
This show was pre-taped last week in San Antonio. Don't forget that the new, improved and revamped World Wrestling Insanity website launch is less than 2 weeks away until launch and trust me when I say it'll be worth the wait. JG has worked extremely hard to make this site a one stop drop for all your wrestling needs. - Edge started the show off tearing down his own Summerfest team and Nexus. He also challenged Wade Barrett to a one on one match. R-Truth came out to talk him down and tell him they need to work together as a team at Summerfest if they wish to beat Nexus. Last week couldn't happen again if they want to keep living their lifestyle. Edge didn't care for Truth's bullshit and ran him down too threatening to Spear him. The RAW GM buzzed in and told R-Truth to leave the ring. He then made a match between Edge and Barrett for up next. - Edge v.s. Wade Barrett If Wade isn't a future WWE or World Champion than I am missing something. Unless they are dubbing in crowd noise tonight than I would say he is very over with the audience at this point. Edge got some chants in his corner as Barrett worked over him. Not much to this match overall as The Nexus came out to attack but Edge ran away thru the crowd to escape unharmed. No Contest - Backstage Edge confronted Cena about him not helping him against Nexus just now. Cena laughed it off. Edge told him to he quit. Chris Jericho walked up and mocked him for what happened. He challenged Cena to a match tonight and the loser would be off their Summerfest team. Cena angrily accepted. Next we saw John Morrison speak to The Great Khali about getting their act together for Summerfest. Morrison told him to think about it. Nexus walked up to Khali and tried to recruit him telling him the door is always open for him to join them. - Eve Torres, Natalya, Gail Kim v.s. Alicia Fox, Jillian Hall and Tamina Ugh... At least it has real women wrestlers in the match like Nattie. When the hell is she gonna get a shot at the Diva's title? It's a shame that Natalya is being so underused despite being in the company for a few years now. Awesome Kong could make the WWE Diva's division interesting again if they hired her. Gail Kim took some nice bumps at the end of the match. Alicia hit Natalya with a Axe Kick when she was distracted to get the 3 count. Fox got on the mic after the match and declared her awesomeness and then the returning Melina came out and beat her ass with that Split legged drop. Nice return that made Melina look like a star. Winners: Jillian, Alicia and Tamina - Sheamus v.s. Goldust I'm beyond shocked that they showed clips of the old ECW rivalry between these two. Goldust elevated Sheamus to the level he is at now and it's good to see him get some credit for once. I can't figure out why Goldust isn't at least in the tag team title picture with someone by now. He is too good to leave sitting on the sideline. Sheamus dismantled Goldy this time much faster than in the past showing he's learned since last year. Sheamus nailed the High Cross and won clean. Sheamus got on the mic after the match and said "What a difference a year makes." and began running down Randy Orton, The Miz and Triple H. He finished by saying he would end Orton's career at Summerslam. Winner: Sheamus - Chris Jericho v.s. John Cena My daughter's two all time favorites lock horns. This is a PPV quality match but I personally am sick of seeing it. Same formula match up that we've seen from these two in the past so there's nothing much for me to talk about. Jericho nailed a Codebreaker but only a 2 count out of it. I played a match of Modern Warfare 2 while this match was going on. I saw JG playing FFA and I almost joined in to win it and make him mad. lol. Jericho's Walls of Jericho was reversed by Cena into the STFU which he didn't even lock in before Jericho tapped. John got on the mic after the match and told him that he still wanted him to remain on his team but it was his choice. The crowd chanted Y2J as he faked heading to the ring only to turn around and bail. Winner: John Cena - Backstage Edge and Chris Jericho made up and hugged. The GM buzzed in and said that next week Edge and Chris Jericho will team against John Cena and Bret Hart. Additionally Nexus will stand ringside as lumberjacks. Sounds neat I guess. I wonder how Bret will perform? - The Great Khali (w/Ranjin Singh) v.s. Ted Dibiase (w/Maryse) It's official, I do not like the Maryse/TD pairing at all. They don't add anything to each other in my opinion, she is simply arm candy for him which Virgil did a fine job at prioir. lol. This match sucked. But then again so do most Khali matches. Nexus came out during the match to scout Khali and even the odds for him. Khali locked on the Vice Grip and won the match. Maryse was not impressed. Winner: The Great Khali -
We next caught Mark Walburgh and Will Ferrell talk to the Bella Twins in a complete waste of time and advertisiing. The Bella's blew off Marky Mark and hit on Ferrell. Mark said Alica Fox was his favorite diva. Terrible use of these two. I can see why the Rock doesn't want to come back around now, his talents would be wasted. - The Miz v.s. Randy Orton Miz got on the mic before the match and stated he would cash in on Orton if he beats Sheamus at Summerslam. Why is Orton not wearing wristbands anymore? The Miz held his own and looked good against one of WWE's top babyfaces. I hope Miz is main eventing by WM27. Orton won the match after nailing an RKO out of nowhere. He stared down Sheamus as the show ended. Winner: Randy Orton blog comments powered by Disqus
