Aaron Wood Quick RAW Report On Site At Tonight's Tapings

By Aaron Wood Nov 9, 2009 - 7:15 PM

Hello my Gathering, I just want to keep this brief, because, well, I'm exhausted.  I've just been (as I have constantly mentioned) to this week's RAW taping, and just wanted to send you a quick report on what you'll see later on tonight.

For this week's Superstars, they taped tonight:
Primo def. Chris Masters (possibly a dark match, as they had this match with the Superstars graphics on the screen, but no announcers, who came out next) when Primo hit a Springboard Crossbody.  Masters did a little pec flexing to a hearty cheer.

MVP def. Ted DiBiase.  I forget how exactly, but it wasn't the Playmaker, which was blocked.

RAW started up soon after with Ricky Hatton coming out and talking bout Sheffield, noting he won a title in the building.  JeriShow come out and they back and forth, noting Floyd Mayweather.  Show offers a free shot to Ricky, who goes to take it, but Jericho steps in.  He and Show back and forth about the World Title match before Hatton sets JeriShow vs. DX for later.  The champs look to attak, but DX make the save.  They down Jericho and Show acts as if he's going to fight, but then bails.

Alicia Fox def. Kelly Kelly with a pretty sh**ty axe kick.  A couple of bothced spots here, but not too disasterous.  Womens Survivor Series match is Mickie James, Eve Torres, Kelly Kelly, Melina & Gail Kim vs. Michelle McCool, Jillian Hall, Beth Phoenix, Layla & Alicia Fox

Cena meets with Hatton and his son, dressed in Cena garb and a big fan.  John seemingly gets the night off.

Sheamus def. A Nameless Jobber, finishing him off, interestingly, with a Razor's Edge.

The Bellas talk to Hatton about what's he's up to when Santino...sorry, RICKY FATTON, walks in. He's in Hatton's robe with padding underneath.  Chavo comes in and challenges Santino.  Hatton suggests Wrestler vs. Boxer, implying Santino boxes, but then says he'll be the boxer in the match.

Miz promo backstage.  He captains a Survivor Series team against one led by John Morrison.  Indeed, it's Morrison, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Shelton Benjamin & Fit Finlay vs. Miz, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger.  Swagger walks in and says that he'd be so impressie, they'd want him to be captain instead.  Miz riffs on Sharon Osbournes "Really?" line form last week in a nice touch.

Evan Bourne def. Jack Swagger!  Miz came out towards the end, but I'm not sure how much of a distraction he was, as the finish came when Swagger then picked Bourne up for a suplex which Evan kneed his way out of, before hitting the SSP for the win.

VIP Lounge with the guest as Kofi Kingston.  He leads Henry, MVP, Christian & R-Truth against Randy Orton's team of Legacy, Punk & Regal.  Legacy come out and there's some back and forth, which leads to Kofi slapping Orton sending him out the ring.

Henry & Orton met next.  Orton won with a RKO out of nowhere (which drew a huge pop, but Randy was liked by many).  Afterwards, Orton tried to attack Kofi as he checked on Henry, but Kofi got the upperhand again, dumping Orton out the ring.  gota say they are pushing Kofi big.

Ricky Hatton vs. Chavo Guerrero.  They billed it as a "Wrestler vs. Boxer Mixed Martial Arts match".  It wasn't atually terrible.  Hatton could only win by KO and Chavo by pin.  Chavo ran away a bit to begin with then got a few takedowns on Ricky.  However, Hatton turned a reverse waistlock and hit a right hook to the jaw (good looking one too) for the standing 10 count and win.

Backstage, Hornswaggle was with Cena dressed as HBK.  Cena warned him against it when they heard DX coming, so Horny disappeared.  Cena & DX then chatted, as they were looking for Swaggle.  Cena told him to come out, and he was dressed like Cena, and they did a "You can't see me" to DX.

DX def. Jerishow.  Cena was guest commentator.  On a couple of occasions, we (myself included) sang Happy Birthday to Chris Jericho, since it's his today.  However, his in-ring birthday present was to get punched by Big Show as he aimed for HBK.  HBK pinned Jericho after HHH dumped Show out.

Then they made the announcement of next week's main event in MSG.  JeriShow vs. DX vs. John Cena and his partner...

Now at this point, I think everyone in the building was expecting to see Hornswaggle come out.  But alas no.  For you see, Cena's partner next week is...

Well, think about Survivor Series...

THE UNDERTAKER!

Show ends with Taker coming out to such a loud pop, especilly form me who felt my side twinge.  I think I have actually pulled a muscle.

Post show dark match was DX & Cena vs. Orton & JeriShow (was advertised as all three Legacy members).  Tuned into a comedy match, as JeriShow disappeared at ringside, leaving Orton at the mercy of the faces.  As Orton sold on the mat, all three faces laid down beside him in a funny moment.  Then when Orton realised he was a dead man, he trie to play nice with everyone, even getting HBK to give him a DX Sweatband which he put on his head.  He then sold the ensuing Sweet Chin Music comically before taking a Pedigree and Attitude Adjustment.

After that, DX & Cena brought out Hatton and his kid for some more comedy with the DX spiel, doing a big "Suck it!" to send the fans home happy.

Don't know how it'll translate on TV.  Probably like most RAWs recently, but it was a really fun show to be at live.  I do have some hihgly negative notes aout the venue, but I'll leave thatfor the audio I'll hopefully get around to doing.

Anyway, you can expect something similar to this tomorrow night.  And don't forget that around afternoon time EST, you can check out my twitter page at @aaron24wood as I'll tweet live updates like I did tonight.  But until then, see ya!
