5/21 UFC: Recap of Episode 8 of "The Ultimate Fighter 7 - Team Forrest vs. Team Rampage"
By Mallory Mahling
The last fight--Pat Shultz vs. Cale Yarbrough--was dissected by Dana White and the coaches. Rampage didn't take the loss by his fighter, Shultz, well. Although Forrest's fighter won, Griffin kicked in a door, a la Chris Leben on Season One. White said it had been a strange day. No kidding. Thus far, Team Forrest has won 6, Team Rampage has won 1. The final preliminary fight will be D.G. Dolloway vs. Nick Klein, the only two fighters who have not had a turn. At the TUF House, Matt Riddle commented on the upcoming fight between Dolloway and Klein and said Dolloway was the real deal. Team Forrest had found a net gun to play with. Someone thought it would be a good idea to shoot Rampage with it. Uh oh. Forrest approached Rampage with the gun… …and the show went to commercial. Arghhh. Forrest got up on the Octagon fence and took aim at the rival coach. He caught Rampage in a virtual spider web, and Rampage couldn't believe he'd been netted. He muttered over and over that the whole world had seen him netted on national TV. Rampage was not about to let Forrest get away with that, and he began to plot revenge. Dolloway said he considered himself one of the top contenders on the show. Rampage said Dolloway had the skills, but he also "had a big ass head" and was full of himself. Nick Klein is another big, strong farm boy, not unlike Matt Hughes. Forrest thought he had good standup and a good scramble. Klein said he had his head in the right place and was ready to fight. White said C.B. was Rampage's golden boy. He expected Klein to have his hands full with C.B. Assistant Coach Juanito Ibarra encouraged C.B. to win this one for the team. Rampage cautioned him not to be over confident. Team Forrest felt Klein had been underestimated. Griffin said Klein would show how good C.B. was. Or wasn't. Klein added that he was nobody's stepping stone. 8th Preliminary Fight: C.B. Dolloway vs. Nick Klein. Steve Mazzagatti was the referee for this match. Dolloway controlled most of the first round and round two was more of the same. C.B. won by choking out Klein with a guillotine. White said this was a better fight than he had expected, and Nick had brought his game. Even Dolloway admitted that Klein had been tougher than he expected. C.B. said he'd won to save face for Team Rampage. Back at the TUF House, Cale was shown dissing C.B. at the pool, because he was wearing effeminate sun glasses. C.B. thought Cale would make a good opponent in the quarterfinals. Since Amir had won his match with Gerald Harris, Forrest had promised that he could cut his hair how ever he wanted. Let's just say that Amir is a better fighter than a barber. Meanwhile, Rampage was aiming for Forrest with a giant squirt gun. "Payback is a beeyotch," Rampage mouthed to the camera. Dana and the coaches gathered to pick the quarterfinal fights. They called in each fighter and asked who they'd like to face in the Octagon. C.B. picked Cale. Big surprise. Dana granted his wish. The quarterfinal matches will be: 1. Jesse Taylor vs. Dante Rivera. 2. Amir Sadollah vs. Matt Brown. 3. Dan Cramer vs. Tim Credeur. 4. C.B. Dolloway vs. Cale Yarbrough. Next week: The teams will be shuffled. Alphabetical Listing of Guests You Can Hear on ClubWWI.com : Aaron
