Welcome to episode #101 of the Vintage Collection. Judging by the opening video of Shawn Michaels’ retirement speech from the RAW after WrestleMania 26, I can take an educated guess, that the following show, is all about the Heartbreak Kid.
Also, a new opening video to start off the next 100. ‘Mean’ Gene reveals that this is Part One of Two, at a look back, at the career of Shawn Michaels
MATCH#1: The Rockers (Shawn Michaels/Marty Jannetty) vs. ‘Iron’ Mike Sharpe/Intruder
DATE OF MATCH: June 18, 1988
This is the Rockers’ first appearance on WWF television.
This match doesn’t last all that long, as the Rockers show dominance with a double-team hip toss, a and Jannetty pinning the Intruder.
YOUR WINNERS: The Rockers
MATCH#2: WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The Rockers (Shawn Michaels/Marty Jannetty) vs. Legion Of Doom (Animal/Hawk) (c)
DATE OF MATCH: December 28, 1991
We join in progress, with Hawk taking care of both Rockers. He makes the tag to Animal, and the Road Warriors dominance continues, until Michaels counters, and tags in his partner. All four men enter the ring, and a double drop kick takes out Hawk. Animal catches Jannetty in a cross body attempt, but Michaels hits a drop kick on Animal, and the Road Warrior falls on Marty for the three.
YOUR WINNERS: Legion Of Doom
The Rockers have a tiff in the ring post-match, which brings up to a clip of the Barbershop, from January 12, 1992, in which Shawn Michaels turns on his partner, and throws him through the Barbershop window.

We return, to find Sean Mooney, introducing a Shawn Michaels/Sensational Sherri promo.
MATCH#3: WWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
STEEL CAGE
Shawn Michaels (c) w/Diesel vs. Marty Jannetty
DATE OF MATCH: August 17, 1993
Jannetty in control, but as he starts to climb, Michaels throws him off, and goes climbing himself. Shawn has both legs over, and is on his way down, before Marty grabs the hair of the Heartbreak Kid, pulling him back to the top of the cage. It ends with Shawn being hip tossed off onto the floor, and as Jannetty tries to climb, Diesel gets involved. The distraction allows Michaels to crawl to the door, and get out of the cage, before Jannetty can get out over the top.
YOUR WINNER: Shawn Michaels
We’re back, and we head to March 20, 1994, and the first-ever Ladder match, between Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon at WrestleMania 10 for the Undisputed Intercontinental Championship, which Ramon won.
Our next match is a match from Monday Night RAW, as promos from Michaels and Ramon are shown. This is the first match between these two, for the first time since WrestleMania 10.
MATCH#4: Shawn Michaels w/Intercontinental Champion Diesel vs. Razor Ramon
DATE OF MATCH: August 1, 1994
Razor in control, until he gets a rake of the eyes, allowing the Heartbreak Kid to take over the momentum. Ramon gets in a Fall Away Slam for a near fall, but Shawn still has the advantage. Michaels gets a near fall in with a dropkick, and then gets in some open punches, knocking down Da Bad Guy.
Shawn goes for a side headlock, but Ramon fights out, and gets a near fall with a backslide. Michaels quickly gets in a near fall, in order to not lose momentum, as we enter commercial.

Back to the action, and both men are down. Razor gets the control, and starts to fight back against the Heartbreak Kid. Ramon heads up top, but Shawn knocks him off, and goes for a cross body, which is countered by Da Bad Guy for a near fall.
Michaels looks for the Razor’s Edge, but Ramon blocks the move, sending both men down to the mat once again. Razor gets up first, and looks for the Razor’s Edge himself, but Diesel hits the ring apron, causing a distraction. A big boot from the Intercontinental Champion, allows Michaels to get the fall.
YOUR WINNER: Shawn Michaels
A post-match beat down follows, with Diesel and Michaels softening up Ramon, as it will be Diesel vs. Razor for the Gold at SummerSlam of 1994.

I.R.S. is sweating so much; his shirt has gone a rather weird shade of blue. Schyster looks in control, but HBK kips up, and takes over. I.R.S. ducks Sweet Chin Music, and nails Michaels with a clothesline. The match doesn’t last much longer though, as Shawn counters Irwin R. Into the Sweet Chin, and that’s all this match brings us.
YOUR WINNER: Shawn Michaels

October 22, 1995. In Your House, and Shawn Michaels is vacating the Intercontinental Championship, due to being “investigated” by Syracuse police, after being beat up outside a nightclub, giving Dean Douglas the gold.
MAIN EVENT: Shawn Michaels vs. Owen Hart w/James E. Cornette and Mr. Fuji
DATE OF MATCH: November 20, 1995
Shawn Michaels, my favourite wrestler of all time. Period. No questions asked, against Owen hart, one of my top ten, if not top five favourites.
Owen in control, but Michaels almost steals it with a near fall. Shawn does gain the advantage with a flying elbow, and both men are down. Hart gets up, but Michaels kips up, and hits another flying elbow. Heartbreak Kid with a stomp, followed by a body slam, setting up the Macho Man elbow, which is connected, but it only gets him a two count.
Owen stays in the corner, noticing Shawn was tuning up the band, and as Michaels pulls him out, Hart catches him with an enziguri. The King of Harts looks for the sharpshooter, but Michaels escapes quickly, and they both end up outside the ring, after a clothesline from the Showstopper.
At this point, Michaels faints in the ring, not fully recovered from the assault outside the nightclub, not being helped by the head shots by Owen throughout the match, and doesn’t get back up. The match is stopped, as doctors and EMTs come out to assist the fallen HeartBreak Kid.
YOUR WINNER: No Result
Tune in next week, as Shawn Michaels returns, seeking revenge on Owen Hart, and we continue with Part Two, with a retrospective of Shawn Michaels’ career.
