Chris Cooley Presents The WWE Vintage Collection: Lex Luger vs. Tatanka, a 20 Man Battle Royal, and The Hart Foundation Explode

By Chris Cooley Apr 11, 2010 - 8:15 AM

WWF WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP
MATCH#1: Alundra Blayze (c) vs. Bull Nakano
DATE OF MATCH: October 18, 1994

Luna Vachon tries to interfere on behalf of Nakano, but it comes to nothing, as three dropkicks and German Suplex, are enough for Alundra Blayze to retain the gold.

YOUR WINNER: Alundra Blayze

MATCH#2: 20-MAN BATTLE ROYAL
PARTICIPANTS: 1-2-3 Kid, Yokozuna, Bam Bam Bigelow, Mabel, Fatu, Samu, Double J, Bob Backlund, Bob ‘Sparky Plugg’ Holly, Typhoon, Diesel, Duke ‘the Dumpster’ Droese, Bart Gunn, Billy Gunn, I.R.S., Kwang, Adam Bomb, the Gigolo, Nikolai Volkoff, ‘Doctor Of Desire’ Tom Prichard
DATE OF MATCH: August 15, 1994

We begin, and Yokozuna is eliminated straight away, and Typhoon is next to go. Volkoff becomes number three, and former ClubWWI host, Tom Prichard is fourth gone. Bigelow misses a clothesline, and it ends with his elimination. Bart Gunn didn’t learn from Bigelow, as he is eliminated in the exact same way as Bam Bam.

COMMERCIAL

We return from commercial, to see Mabel go flying over the top, at the hands of Big Daddy Cool. Everyone left in the ring, then turn their attention to Diesel, and he is eliminated. The bright coloured Jeff Jarrett, eliminates the even brighter coloured Bob Holly, and Adam Bomb is double-teamed out of the match as well. The Gigolo manages to hold on from elimination, and I.R.S., the man who tried to eliminate Gigolo, was instead thrown over by Jarrett, but the Gigolo doesn’t survive much longer. Samu is soon eliminated also, and we are down to four.

Backlund, 1-2-3 Kid, Double J and Billy Gunn left. Gunn is gone, and Kid almost follows, but he holds on, and eliminates Jarrett. Bob Backlund locks in the Chicken Wing on 1-2-3 Kid, allowing for an easy toss out, and a victory.

WINNER: Bob Backlund

MATCH#3: Lex Luger vs. Tatanka w/Ted DiBiase
DATE OF MATCH: October 19, 1994

This match comes about, after Tatanka turned on Luger, and joined the Million Dollar Corporation at SummerSlam of 1994.

Luger’s attacking style ends badly, as his aggression ends with him sent outside by the Native American. Tatanka then continues to have total momentum in the match, but he is unable to finish off his opponent, and the powers of commercial don’t help Lex either. What does help, is a whip to the corner, as Luger counters with a kick, and thus gain control. Three clotheslines send Tatakna to the outside, and the fight continues there. It continues so much, that the match ends.

YOUR WINNER: DOUBLE COUNT-OUT

However, this result just won’t do Luger, as he baits Tatanka back into the ring, so he can apply the Torture Rack. Gorilla knows the match is over, as he sees Rene Goulet down there.

MAIN EVENT: Bret Hart/British Bulldog vs. Owen Hart/Jin Neidhart
DATE OF MATCH: October 19, 1994

A match between the Hart Family that doesn’t disappoint. Bret and Owen had faced each other in a spectacular Cage match for the WWF Championship, in which Bret just came out victorious. Owen would later cost Bret the title at the Survivor Series of that year. Also, Owen Hart won the King Of The Ring of 1994.

British Bulldog is the only one in this match, not wearing pink and black. He is wearing red and yellow. Unless Bulldog is colour-blind, and he thinks it’s pink and black.

This match was very back and forth in momentum between the two teams. Owen and Anvil take control, until the tag to Bret is made. The match ends with a distraction, allowing Owen to roll up Bulldog, but as the ref is getting Neidhart out of the ring, Bret rolls the small package over, meaning that Davey Boy has Owen’s shoulders down, and getting the fall.

YOUR WINNERS: Bret Hart and British Bulldog

That's the lot for this week's edition. Be sure to tune in next time, for the only old school WWF show you can find, except for the matches on YouTube
