Chris Cooley Presents The WWE Vintage Collection: Ep 57: The Only Televised Match Featuring Randy Savage vs. The Dynamite Kid, Tiger Mask vs. Mr. Saito, Dean Malenko vs. Rey Mysterio, Brian Christopher vs. Tajiri, and More

MATCH#1: Tiger Mask vs Mr. Saito
DATE OF MATCH: December 7, 1982 Arm Wrench by Saito, but Mask counters and flips his opponent. Mr. Saito introduces Mask to the top turnbuckle, then whips him across, but the Tiger leaps up and flips over his opponent, then nails him with a Spinning Kick. Saito gets sone shots in, then sends Mask to the outside. Saito knocks his opponent off the apron, but Tiger Mask gets in the second time, by flipping over the ropes, and Saito ends up on the outside. Mask then, sprinbgboards over the top, landing on Mr. Saito. Back in the ring, Mask with the advantage, but Saito connects a Back Suplex, for a near fall. Mr. Saito with another suplex, and another near fall. Saito whips his opponent in, but Tiger Mask tries to go for a Cross Body, but Saito ducks in. Tiger whipped in again, and this time he leaps over Saito, gets the rollup on, and gets the three YOUR WINNER: Tiger Mask COMMERCIAL: Just remember, the following is from 1989. Keep that in mind. MATCH#2: Ultimo Dragon w/Sonny Onoo vs Psycosis DATE OF MATCH: March 16, 1997 FUN FACT: This is the first WCW match seen on Vintage Collection. Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, Bobby Heenan and Dusty Rhodes are on commentary. Dragon with a leglock on his opponent, but Psycosis escapes. Whip into the ropes, and Dragon is dropped with a dropkick. Psicosis whips him across, but Ultimo balances on the ropes, and gets some offence in, but Psicosis ends up applying a Reverse Chin Lock. Psicosis off the top rope and connects a Leg Drop, which gets a two count. Off the middle turnbuckle this time with an Elbow Drop, but the Dragon kicks out again. Psicosis whips his opponent across, but Dragon counters and nails him with a BackBreaker, then applies a Sleeper Hold. Psicosis whips him across, but Dragon nails him with a Suplex. Both men back up, Ultimo whips his opponent, but Psicosis stops and climbs up to the top rope, nailing his opponent with a Spinning Kick, sending the Dragon to the outside, which allows Psicosis to hit a Suicide Dive over the top rope onto the Dragon. Psicosis back in the ring, and nailing a leg Drop from the ring to the floor. Both men feel the effects of the move. Dragon on the apron, knocks Psicosis off the apron and starts the offence. A handspring/back elbow combo against the railing by Dragon, followed by a Moonsault, knocks Psicosis down. Ultimo in the ring, and Sonny Onoo catches Psicosis with some kicks. Skip in footage, and Dragon slams Psicosis, then heads up top and nails a Moonsault for a two count. Ultimo whips him across, ducks his head and Psicosis stops. He looks for a powerbomb, but Dragon gets a Hurracanrana Pin, which is countered into a roll-up by Psicosis for the two. Ultimo with another roll-up, which brings another two count. Psicosis charges, but only connects with the corner, so Ultimo sets him up top, but is countered by Psicosis, and connects what looked like a top rope x-Factor. Both men down. Both men try Spinning Wheel kicks, both don't connect. Ultimo slams his opponent and heads up top, but Psicosis catches him up there, and connects with the Frankensteiner for the two count, but Dragon counters the pin into a pin of his own and gets the two. Psicosis tries for perhaps a Hurracanrana, but Dragon counters into a Running Liger Bomb. Ultimo then places Psicosis up top, and nails a Tornado DDT from the top. One Tiger Suplex later, and Ultimo gets the three. YOUR WINNER: Ultimo Dragon COMMERCIAL: MATCH#3: 'Too Sexy' Brian Christopher vs Tajiri DATE OF MATCH: October 13, 1997 FUN FACT: October 13, 1997 was the night that Shawn Michaels, Triple H and Chyna offically became D-Generation X. Tie-up, Christopher with the advantage, but Tajiri counters. Too Sexy counters back and connects an Arm Drag. He whips Tajiri across, and drops him with a Shoulder Block, but Tajiri springs back up, and drops his opponent with a Belly to Belly Suplex. Tajiri with some hard kicks, including one from the apron to the face of his opponent, then he jumps up top and nails a Missile Dropkick, which brings a two count. Tajiri whips his opponent across, and Too Sexy ducks the attempted Spinning Wheel Kick by his opponent. Full Nelson faceplant by the future Grandmaster gains him the advantage. A bulldog brings Christopher a two count. Brian with a choke in the corner, then whips Tajiri against the ropes, but is countered into a rollup. The future Japanese Buzzsaw then rolls Too Sexy around the ring, with the rollup still applied, finally stopping and getting a near fall. Tajiri ducks a clothesline, and connects a Headspring Back elbow. He works on the arm, and applies an Armbar. Tajiri in one corner, with kicks to the mid-section, then whips him over to the other side for a Splash and a jawbreaker. Tajiri with another jawbreaker, then a kick to Too Sexy. He whips him across, but Christopher ducks under Tajiri, and nails him with a clothesline. The commentary team make jokes about Hogan's movies, as Too Sexy heads up top. Tajiri rolls out of the way of the double knee drop, and connects with kicks. Tajiri with a suplex, then a standing moonsault for the two. Tajiri whips his opponent across, but Too Sexy punches him in the face. Tajiri counters a move by Christopher, and goes for a rollup, but Too Sexy counters into a rollup of his own, getting the three with a help of holding the tights. YOUR WINNER: 'Too Sexy' Brian Christopher COMMERCIAL: MATCH#4: 'Macho Man' Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth vs Dynamite Kid DATE OF MATCH: November 17, 1985 FUN FACT: This is the only televised match between these two in the history of history. Both men try and get the upper hand in the tie-up, until Savage gets a cheap shot in on Dynamite. Macho Man gains the advantage, introducing Dynamite to the top turnbuckle. As Randy continues the attack, the Kid counters, gaining some offence of his own, connecting with a Shoulder Block off the ropes. Whipped into the ropes again, and Dynamite sends Savage over with a Back Body Drop. Dynamite with a Cross Body, but they both get tangled with the ropes, so the pin attempt is broken. Kid gets a cheap shot in, then whips Macho Man across, and looks for an Sunset Flip, but Randy counters. Savage ducks a Cross Body attempt by Dynamite, then whips him across, but both men clothesline each other, knocking both men down. Macho Man climbs to the top, but Dynamite catches him with a Dropkick. Kid sends Savage down with a Superplex, then both men go for the Small Package. It's Randy who gets it in properly and the three. YOUR WINNER: Randy Savage COMMERCIAL: MAIN EVENT: Dean Malenko (c) vs Rey Mysterio Jr. WCW CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP DATE OF MATCH: June 16, 1996 FUN FACT: This was Rey Mysterio Jr.'s debut match in WCW. Both men try to seek the advantage early in the match. Malenko gets the upper hand, with a Drop Toe Hold, then a Vice Grip, but Mysterio gets put of the hold. Off the ropes, Mysterio with a Back Elbow, then an Arm Drag, sending the Iceman to the outside. Junior with a Dropkick, knocking the Champ off the apron. Both men back in the ring, as they try to get the advantage once again. Mysterio looks for a Sunset Flip, but Malenko rolls through and counters into a Toss, sending Rey to the floor. Malenko attempts a Baseball Slide, but Mysterio avoids it. Rey looks for a Hurracanrana, but Dean flips him over, and drills him with a Clothesline. Both men back in, and Dean with a unique move to the arm of Rey Rey. He continues the work on the arm, with a Hammerlock Slam, then heads to the ground to continue the punishment. Malenko applies an Armbar, but Mysterio gets to the ropes. The Iceman hangs Junior's arm over the guardrail, then sends him back in the ring. Mysterio fights out of it with kicks, then runs to the top rope, and dropkicks Malenko. We forward in the match, and Malenko connects a Double Arm suplex for a pinfall. The man of 1,000 holds applies a Submission to Junior, then continues to work on the shoulder of Mysterio. Rey counters out, and uses Malenko's own momentum against him, to send the Iceman into the cameraman on the outside. Rey knocks his opponent off the apron by kicking his legs out, then slides out holding the ropes. Junior then flips over the tope rope, and nails Malenko. Rey springs off the ropes from the apron, and connects with a dropkick for a near fall. The Iceman tries a Powerbomb, but Mysterio counters into a pin attempt. The man of 1,000 holds tries to escape, but Junior keeps at it with the pin attempts, but only getting a two. Mysterio to the apron, springs up and nails a Frankensteiner for another two. Rey Rey heads up, but Malenko catches him and tries a move, but Junior counters that, and nails a Frankensteiner off the top rope. Off the ropes, Dean tries for a Backbreaker, but Rey counters into a pinning move, and again only gets the two count. Rey Rey whips him across and looks for a Hurracanrana, but Malenko counters into a Powerbomb, and with his feet on the ropes, gets the three count. YOUR WINNER AND STILL WCW CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION: Dean Malenko
